The crystal started to give off a small, grey light, which indicated the main trait of Calvin to be a F Grey.

-"So the device really did break. To think I had my hopes up, tsk!"

She was mad but at the same time she knew the chance of awakening a Purple was really, really rare.

She picked up Calvin and went for the exit, as her duties here were finished.

Back at the school, we could see multiple building on the edge of the school's perimeter. These were the dorms students would be living in from now on.

The dorms were separated by ability and background. The better those two things were, the better your dorm would be and for Calvin, who was the son of two prominent figures, his room was one of the best, with cutting edge technology and alot of room space.

Two days after the awakening ceremony, every student woke up in their room, half-asleep and hungry, confused.

The awakening ceremony wasn't known much by the public but the one at Falheim was, or was at least known for being, secretive a lot.

Most people thought it would be done in separate room, one by one, but today, the new first year came to learn that they would not know how it was done. The only thing they got out of this was an identification card with a pin and new uniforms, with the right crest embodied on it.

And so, in the middle of the day, Calvin opened his eyes to an unknown ceiling.

'Where am I?'

He lifted himself up and noticed he was in a well cushioned bed, fully nude.

He blushed a bit and he the looked around to see if anyone was in the room or if there was any camera, but fortunately, there was nothing in sight, no one and nothing was spying on him.

He went out of bed and started to look around.

He was in a big luxurious penthouse looking place. He had a master bedroom, two guest room, a bathroom, a kitchen with every desired devices, a living room with three TVs and an office with drawers and a computer with a wall full of screens.

Although this was a lot, for him, who's been living the life since he was young, it was nothing to fret over.

He rapidly went to his bedroom in an attempt to find something to put on and found a couple of things.

First a uniform with a pair of socks, shoes and boxers and, secondly, his identification card with a school phone.

He took a peek at his card and his heart skipped a beat.

On it was written his worse fear:

[Name: Calvin]

[Main trait: F Grey]

[First year]

F Grey. He was doomed. Nothing could change his fate now. He would be branded as the defective child of the Melhearts. His only redemption would be his hardworking nature and his background, that he would probably lose when his parents got a word of his trait's grade.

He was filled with anger and sadness and he couldn't think straight right now.

Calvin could be seen with a dark expression on his face as he made his way to the shower.

He felt horrible and the disgusting sticky feeling he felt didn't help.

He hopped in and let the cold water hit his head repeatedly.

He felt like he was about to cry but no tears fell at all.

He stood under the water jet for another ten minutes before coming out clean.

He went to his bedroom where he put on some clothes. He took his new phone and opened it, no password required, and went to see what the notifications were about.

On the phone screen was a dull, boring background of the academy with three applications installed on it.

The first one was a school only, messaging/call apps, which let students message each other easily.

The second one was a school app with a calendar and every utility they would need for the first year. The final one looked like a pre-installed game.

Calvin didn't pay much attention to it and went to see the calendar in the school app.

It was currently Wednesday and he went to the academy on Monday, so he figured out he was unconscious for two days straight.

He then saw that for today and tommorow, first year students had a day off to recover from the awakening and get to know each other.

With the fear of being late on top of having a shitty trait out of the way, Calvin opened the messaging app to see he had over a hundred messages.

He tapped to see who it was and quickly found out it was Leo and Alphonse who had created a group chat with the three of them.

He skimmed through the convo and basically understood what they had written.

After he woke up, Leo created a group with the other two to see if they were awake but since no one answered he started to spam their names on repeat to get their attention, hence the hundreds of messages.

But, he also learned that they were both safe and waiting for him at the front door of his dorm.

The three of them were friends since childhood but Leo and Alphonse didn't have the same wonderful background as Calvin. They weren't in a bad situation, on the contrary, but they weren't as rich or had as famous parents. And so, their dorm was one class lower than Calvin's.

Calvin, after reading this, stashed his phone and card in his pocket and went out of his room.

The hallway between the rooms were filled with painting, tapestry and a beautiful red carpet ornamented with gold lining.

When he was out, he took a quick peek at his room number, which was 702, and dashed toward the elevator where he pressed the first floor button.

In the middle of his ride to the first floor, the elevator stopped to open it's doors and let in a another smug looking student.

He had spiky red hair and the attitude of a rich kid, as if he owned everything. His uniform had an Orange and argonite crest outline, Orange being his trait level and argonite being the best background rank.

At first the school only had the trait level shown on the crest but since big families wanted to show their superiority and some other issues happening, they had to install a way to show it and so, this student, who's name was Alex Cadim, and Calvin both had this argonite outline to their crest.

When he entered the elevator, Alex looked at Calvin and took a peek at his crest and directly started laughing.

-"Ahahah! To think the son of the Cardinal's grandmasters would only have a pathetic grey trait!"

Alex's laugh soon ended and he looked at Calvin straight in the eyes.

-"I used to mock you when we were younger, but you really ended up being the loser you were back then."

-"..."

Calvin didn't answer to the provocation and just looked at Alex with dead eyes.

He felt furious but he couldn't show it or even get mad right now, as if something stopped him.

Beep!

The elevator stopped and it's doors opened.

Calvin looked at Alex for a brief moment and went out.

He joined the lobby were he found Leo and Alphonse waiting for him. He made his way to them and started asking a myriad of questions.
