Ikari Shinji's eyes gleamed with madness. Ignoring the searing pain in his shoulders, he seized the apostle with his remaining hand, using his body to forcefully press the opponent against the wall.

The ejection device in the vertical trench activated, propelling both the first Evangelion and the apostle along the wall, creating a shower of sparks as they ascended to the surface. In mid-air, the first Evangelion somersaulted, slamming the apostle beneath it and hurtling towards the ground like a meteor.

A cacophony of screams echoed as the apostle, subjected to a frenzied assault, struggled to retaliate. The ground quaked, and the underground city below rumbled, its zenith threatening to collapse at any moment.

Under the relentless assault, the apostle found itself unable to mount a counterattack.

In a climactic moment, the first Evangelion seized the bone mask-like face of the apostle and forcibly ripped it off. The scarlet muscles beneath stretched like a rubber band, on the verge of snapping.

In the command center, shock gripped everyone. The power displayed by the first Evangelion was beyond imagination, a stark departure from its previous capabilities. Asuka, her eyes wide with amazement, not only marveled at the Evangelion's strength but also at Shinji Ikari's astonishing prowess.

As a pilot, she understood the immense challenges involved.

Yet, just as elation started to set in, the first Evangelion abruptly halted. Ikari Shinji lowered his head, discovering that the energy gauge on the screen had depleted to zero. The first machine had reached its activity limit at this critical juncture.

In the next instant, the apostles launched a counterattack. Flat ribbon tentacles extended from both sides of the apostle's body, tightly entwining the first Evangelion. With a forceful toss, the first machine was sent crashing into the mountainside like discarded refuse.

Mech No. 1 revealed its grotesque, gaping mouth and forcefully bit down on the apostle. When it looked up again, a piece of flesh and blood was clenched between its teeth!

Amid the horrified gaze of onlookers who had emerged from the ground, Mech No. 1 chewed a few times and then swallowed the flesh and blood.

The feast commenced. Amid the apostles' shrill screams, the initial mech devoured them with each bite, producing sounds of whines, roars, chewing, and swallowing.

In the end, the entire apostle was consumed!
