David sat back on his chair, and mother watched him with hawk eyes. It was as if she were willing him to take the damn cup of water and drink.
However, David did nothing of that sort. He just sat back on his chair and resumed the film as if nothing happened. He didn't even make a move to take the cup, talk more of drinking from it.
Mother and I, impatiently, watched him as both willed him to drink from the cup. I almost fell to the floor, due to the nerves. And he still didn't take the cup.
Mother watched him for a long time, and when he still didn't make a move to take the cup, she stood from her chair and stormed over to him.
Mother!
I wanted, so badly, to shout at her.
But then, I don't want David's attention on me.
Calling her might expose our stupid plans to David.
"It seems you don't want the water any more?" She pointed at the cup of water in front of him. "I need to wash the cup. Should I pour the water away?'
