Chapter 13 – Hot springs resort

Third person POV

The next day came, and they, except for Shigure, took a bus to that hot springs resort somewhere. Roxas got permission from his parents, too. Once they get off, the door was closed, and the bus left the place. They were amazed by the resort's exterior looks. Momiji explained to them that a Sohma family member runs the place. While his friends get it, Roxas already knows that so he pretends to get it. Then, the owner of the place appears in the front, trying to give them a warm welcome, but failed because of her creepy behavior, especially towards Tohru.

"Woah, please calm down, ma'am!" Tomoaki and Roxas said to the woman at the same time.

Later, they all went inside, and the owner leads them to their designated rooms after they requested two rooms. This means they spilt into two: one group consisted of Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, and Momiji and the other consisted of Tomoaki, Asae, and Roxas. Their designated rooms are just across from the hallway from each other. Along the way, the woman apologized to them for her behavior earlier, in which they said that it was okay with no problem. Roxas was happy to do this and be with them, while wondering what his first quest would be.

Laurel, meanwhile, was working in an industry that would shock Roxas a lot. In their designated rooms, they were amazed at how traditional and spacious they are. Asae and Momji are most excited. Tomoaki was happy to spend time with them. At the same time, he hoped he would forget his older half-siblings' harsh treatment of Tohru in the past. They prioritized their own selves and reputations over a person who was grieving the loss of a loved one. It's one of the things society demands: reputation, which translates into pride and honor. Tomoaki, on the other hand, didn't want that and instead, replaced most of them with Spanish and Filipino values. This causes a rift between him and his older half-siblings, who view them as embarrassing and disharmony to their own concept of unity. This means that Tomoaki is opposed mostly to the collectivism of society.

Later, they all went to the hot springs to take a warm bath. Of course, they were separated by gender. In the males' section, Tomoaki expressed to the boys how he doesn't like his older half-siblings for the most part because of their differences in terms of values.

"They don't understand how wrong they are," he ranted out more. "They think they are right, but they are not. They are ignorant fools."

"It was must have been for you," Momiji replied with sympathy.

"Yeah, and in the end, I left the house and live with Shigure-san's instead, being with Tohru-chan and her friends."

Tomoaki then began to calm down a bit, before thinking about his younger brother, Juan, who was still staying at Tohru's grandfather's house because he doesn't want to come with him.

Juan also declined Tomoaki's offer to go to the hot springs with him for some reason.

But now, he made a heart-breaking decision to pack up and leave that house for good because his older half-siblings are being mean to him for too long.

While Kyo and Yuki are sympathetic to Tomoaki, Roxas already knew that back in his previous life due to the fanfiction he worked on but didn't completed it due to his sudden death.

Actually, he was behind Juan's part of leaving his family's home for Tohru and Tomoaki via his Golden Word ability.

He did this the night before the trip to the hot springs resort.

In addition to that, he wrote that Juan knows about his phone number and that Shigure knows that as well.

But he didn't tell Tomoaki about it yet.

But then, the boys heard some commotion coming from the female section. "What the…?" Tomoaki commented while Momiji commented that they have some fun, much to Roxas' pretended disbelief and disappointment.
