Arriving At The Kingdom Of Hamilton

Amelia sat down in despair, the only thing on her mind being Ethan and how she couldn't stop that person from taking him away from her.

The two friends of Ethan had never seen Amelia in such a state, but none of them could bring themselves to console her.

The both of them planned on how to save their friend in a separate room from Amelia.

"The kingdom of Hamilton is far but if we are fast enough we can get there before a week" Leo said to Matthew drawing all his intentions on a map.

"I hope we can get there on time, that individual must be dealt with"

Matthew couldn't hide his rage and a slight killing intent shone in his eyes.

"Yes, me too" Leo also had the same expression as Matthew but he tried to hide his by digging his nails into his palms.

While their plans went on in the other room, Amelia packed her belongings lost in thought, it looked like she also had the same idea but she didn't plan on going with them.

At this point in time she treated the two as dead weight, only having the thought of saving Ethan and nothing else.

She was now ready to leave but just before she could, someone barged into her room, it was Leo and he had a furious look in his eye.

"So you were planning to leave us huh?!"

Amelia looked at him with lifeless eyes and said not a single word.

"I understand you care about Ethan and 'we' are people you look down upon..." he paused for a moment.

"But we are also his friends and we have the same desire to save him as you do, so instead of thinking about it like we are just 'dead weight' bring us along and we will help in any way we can to save our friend"

He tried to rationalize with her so as not to be left alone, he had been at the front of the room some minutes ago but didn't know how to tell her they were leaving, when he used a skill which was thought to him by Ethan, the all seeing eye technique.

He was able to see through the door and into the room by directing mana to his eyes when he saw her packing and planning to leave without telling them and that's when he barged into the room.

Back to the present, Amelia scoffed at his words and looked at him with her lifeless eyes.

"You tell me to bring you along but do you think he would want to see the both of you there?"

She asked a question which confused Leo, of course he would want to see them there they were friends after all, right?.

She continued to speak with a cold voice looking at Leo with eyes of despair, she was making him realize how weak he was.

"You may have started your path to cultivation but it doesn't mean you've reached anywhere in this world, anyone can still crush you like the bug you are, so when you tell me to bring you two to the kingdom of hunters I scoff at your words"

Leo put his gaze down accepting her words as a truth which he couldn't deny, but before he could succumb to her words something in him called out to him.

That thing told him he couldn't give up, no, he wouldn't give up, even if he was mocked, even if he was beaten up he would get back on his feet and continue to fight, just before she could continue her words Leo spoke.

"Silence Amelia, you will be taking me and Matthew with you through that portal of yours" the thing in Leo spoke, it gave him a domineering aura and a voice filled with command.

Amelia saw this and immediately said with a shaky voice

"Asger?"

She called out to Leo which brought a smile on his face before the aura around him disappeared.

The three now looked at what happened in confusion.

Matthew had arrived at the beginning of the conversation but didn't utter a single word making his presence unknown by the two.

Amelia sighed after sometime and said, "fine I'll be bringing the both of you along, just don't cause any trouble for me, or else"

She looked at the both of them with a threatening gaze, not having to complete her words the two gulped audibly.

The both of them had grabbed their bags and were ready, Amelia wasn't looking too lifeless anymore and opened the portal leading to Hamilton.

She just saw the aura of one of her lost friends, one which Ethan always thought about, it gave her more confidence the soul of those two were in Leo and Matthew.

This also brought her more determination to find Ethan and tell him about this good news.

"I hope the both of you are ready, because you're going to puke, since this is your first time traveling through my portal"

"Wha?..." before they could complete their words they were pushed by Amelia into the portal.

'Wait for us Ethan, we are coming to save you'

She thought before entering the portal.

A few minutes prior to leaving, the owner of the inn came to check the 'chaos' which had happened.

Seeing the debris and all which were laid everywhere a vein popped and he screamed at the top of his lungs, promising himself to get the 'four occupants who lived here.

While all this was going on Ethan was now in a carriage still tied up and unable to do anything, he sat in the lotus position and closed his eyes, meditating to think of rational ways to escape this bondage, but nothing came to mind.

"It is pointless thinking of a way to escape when you don't even have mana to escape my chains"

"But it is better to think than to do nothing, isn't it?"

Ethan said his words showing annoyance as he spoke to the person in front of him.

"Whatever you say, idiot"

Ethan opened one of his eye, he looked at the one who held him hostage, he was baffled to see the reactions of the person seated at his front"

"Can you at least tell me your name, it would be a pleasure to know the name of the lady who kidnapped me you know?"

"How did you..."

"Well someone of my caliber will know a lady when he sees one"

She scoffed hearing that and removed the item she had been using to mask her voice.

"You will find out at the end of the trip, so keep quiet until then"

She had a cute voice which confirmed his guess that he was dealing with a lady.

"I know you don't need any of this information but I'm Ethan, I hope we can have a good relationship by the end of this trip, as I wouldn't want a beautiful lady such as yourself hating me for the rest of the trip"

The lady blushed behind her mask which still hid her face and didn't reply to any of his words, but that only brought a grin to Ethan's face.

Ethan had been watching her every reaction with every word he said and he had gotten two of his questions answered through her reactions.

One of it was this lady didn't bear any hostility towards him and the second one was that she wasn't sent by someone to capture him.

Having confirmed his curiosity, it left one question unanswered, the main question and that was.

Who was he to this lady?, how was she able to find his location? and what did she want from him?

Those were three questions actually but he was going to make sure he got everything answered before he got to the kingdom, but he also knew that would be hard to do if the lady was able to hide her identity for this long.

"I know you wanted me to stay quiet but what would a lady as pristine as you want with a guy like me?"

He tried to get an answer from her but every question was either met with no reply or her saying she was going to reveal it when they got to their destination.

They had been in the carriage for a long time and finally the carriage stopped, indicating they had gotten to their destination.

She left the carriage first and Ethan second, when he got down he saw the view of the kingdom which brought a slight feeling awe to his face.

"Welcome to the kingdom of Hamilton" she said after he got out of the carriage.

The kingdom had a profound aura which showcased it's might, they were in the lowest town in the kingdom, but instead of the dead aura that places like these carried, they could see people who lived their lives joyfully.

There were no broken houses of any sort, everyone made money through good jobs and guards could even be seen all around the town making sure no illegal activities were being performed

He had seen places like this in his past life but he always had a sense of disbelief that told him it was all fake, but seeing this place, even if it was fake, they knew how to keep up appearance.

He kept an expression of astonishment, but his awe filled expression was cut short by the lady who teleported them to an inn, so she wouldn't have to deal with the crowd.

When they got to the inn, she immediately took him to a room, the receptionist wasn't able to see even a shadow.

They had finally gotten to a room and Ethan was in pure shock of what he found in this room.

They were posters everywhere of his past life, shadow.

Seeing this he moved back and asked with a cold voice.

"Who are you?"

"Why would you use such a tone on your darling, didn't you miss me a single bit?"

Those words brought more confusion to Ethan, but he wasn't ready for the next thing which shocked him.

The lady took of her mask and changed to her real appearance jumping on Ethan, she said.

"I've missed you shadow, how could you leave me in that world all alone?"

Ethan was surprised, when he saw the face of the lady that jumped on him he exclaimed.

"Layla?!"
