The wolfs mate

Max locks the door behind them and crouches down next to Marcy they are both shaking. Max lifts her phone and notices that Dexter hung up. The girls are locked inside with no way of knowing what is happening outside of the bathroom door. They know the wolves have arrived, they are there to try and protect them because they can hear howling and screaming coming from right outside the door. Marcy held Max as she cries quietly into her shoulder and they both slide down the bathroom wall to crouch on the floor. The screams and banging continue from outside the door and it sounds like the whole house is going to cave in at any moment. After the girls huddle there for what feels like hours the house suddenly goes quiet. Marcy looks at Max and asks "where is Ian, do you think he knows?" Max hugs her tight and looks around the bathroom as if she is trying to figure out their next move. "Max" Dexter yells from downstairs. Max slides herself across the bathroom floor and places her hand on the door. "It's gonna be okay" max says and lifts herself off the bathroom floor and then swings the door open ready to Sprint down the stairs to Dexter, but Max is met with Ian's gaze instead. His eyes no longer an emerald green they are now a dark mossy color filled with hear and rage only enhanced by the hunters blood on his cruel twisted face. "I'm gonna go see who needs my help" max stammers as she ducks around Ian who was looking through her and right at Marcy any ways. "Marcy" Ian says as he moves twords the woman who is still curled up shaking involuntarily in the corner of the bathroom floor. He reaches out his hand to help her up "are you okay?" Marcy looks up to meet his gaze and nods her head reaching up to his extended hand. Ian pulls Marcy out of the floor and can read the shock on her face. "It's okay, it's gonna be okay.

In the hospital

Marcy woke to her head throbbing, what happened. It was all coming back so slowly. Is max okay, she wondered still laying there with her eyes closed groaning in pain. "Marcy, hey Marcy are you awake?" Marcy opens her eyes to see Ian sitting next to her hospital bed. She was sure it was a hospital though the room was simply lit she could hear the monitors beeping next to her. As her eyes focused she could see Ian better and his beauty contrasted the pale yellow hospital walls . "Y-yeah" she says lifting her hand to her throbbing cheek. "No don't touch" Ian says grabbing Marcy's hand and sliding his hand into hers. Marcy's eyes go wide at the electricity of his touch. Looking into Ian's eyes Marcy has so many questions and cant seem to form any of them "I saw you" Marcy chokes out. Her face was sturn as she tightened her grip on Ian's hand and held his gaze. It was clear she saw something she couldn't unsee and that she needed answers. Ian drops his head to rest on their still intertwined hands.

"Marcy, I'm sorry! I should have been there to protect you. I guess you want some answers, idk what happened I heard you both screaming and I ran as quick as I could to you and when I heard you call out my name I just lost control. I could have killed him you know, I really wanted to. Funny how people think I am the monster when really it's people like that who are the real monsters. I will never hurt you!" "Is Max okay, where is she?" Marcy's response catches makes Ian laugh a real laugh the kind that starts in the belly and works it's way up, as he lifts his head from their hands to look at her. "Max is fine, she is safe...is that really all that you are questioning right now?" Marcy can't break her gaze off him looking into his eyes once more. Knowing she is safe but knowing everything has changed."Yes... No... I don't know. I know we were attacked and I was worried about her. I also know that I should have known the truth the second I looked into your emerald green eyes. " Marcy says moving her hand to embrace Ian's cheek. "Aren't you afraid, don't you have questions?" "Yes, of course I do I just don't know where to start" Marcy says caressing Ian's face as she removes her hand to place it back on the bed. "It's a curse, you..."

**Knock knock**

In walks a nurse with a timid smile and a clip board "hey, how are we feeling?" Marcy just smiles and nods at the small woman, thinking how she looks much like Max but with a platinum colored high pony that reached the middle of her back. "Good, well it looks like we just dislocated the shoulder and have a minor concussion. We're gonna finish running some tests and you should be able to go home shortly. Do you have an...". "Marcy!" Lisa cried as she ran into the room tears streaming down her face. Marcy now remembering the last time she was in a hospital. Lisa wrapped her arms around Marcy to embrace her, more for herself than Marcy. "What happened" Lisa snapped turning to look at Ian. "I'm fine" Marcy calmly reassured her aunt. Ian got up from next to Marcy as he felt he was only intruding."is she fine?" Lisa asked looking at the nurse who still stood there ate the foot of Marcys hospital bed. "Yes, it appears Marcy is very lucky" she responds trying to calm Lisa. "Aunt Lisa, really im fine" Marcy grabs her hand giving her a reassuring squeeze. " We should be getting her discharged soon, all her tests so far are fine and if anything else shows up I will call you, okay" the nurse says nodding at Lisa more than Marcy. "Okay" Lisa says patting Marcy's hand.

"I'm gonna go" Ian says gesturing twords the door "I'll see you later" he says heading to the door. Ian stops in the door way "Marcy I'm glad you're okay". Marcy smiles at Ian, "all thanks to you". Ian heads out of the hospital. He knew he needed to give Marcy and Lisa some space. But he wasn't done worrying about Marcy and they certainly did not get to finish talking about Ian's wolf out. Ian decides to sit in his car and wait until Marcy and Lisa leave the hospital before he can go anywhere, he has to make sure Marcy is okay physically and mentally. Ian pulls out his phone to text Max and let her know what's going on and that he should be home shortly.
