chapter 3

Izuku woke up. He was feeling refreshed, more refreshed than ever. He noticed his gray world finally getting colors back and the pain that drowned his body was getting weaker, still present but weaker. Izuku questioned himself if the pain meant that the poison in his body was getting weaker or if it was his pain receptors weakening.

Thinking to myself now... My body was improved since the first time I 'died'... Does that mean that my body rebuilds itself to the better? Izuku thought while getting to his bathroom and take a shower. Now that I have an objective I need to practice! First I need to see websites that explain how to make coffee... I need to learn how to cook better, my level of cooking is not good for cafes, baking would also be good...

As Izuku was mumbling in his shower the image of his future cafe was getting clearer. With luck maybe some heroes will come by too! And with that final thought he started studying.4

After the long fruitful weekend he was once again to the hell of school. Once in his seat Bakugo decided to talk first. "What was all that about poison?" Bakugo had a bit of irritation and worry in his voice, but his eye screamed apologies for what he did to him. Bakugo since the day he told Izuku to swan dive from the roof he felt that he should apology about it, and hearing about that he linked the points and figured out what really happened.

Izuku looking up he smiled. "Not to worry, Kacchan. The pain is getting weaker by the day." Bakugo's eyes furrowed, "The doctor said that your bodily excretions would contain poison... Do you know what that means?" Bakugo's voice was low so that other classmates wouldn't hear their conversation.

Izuku nods. "Yeah. Just need to be careful about how I show affection and not let anyone touch my blood directly." Izuku pauses a bit and then decides to tell his new objective in life. "Hey, Kacchan, I'm thinking about opening a cafe. I decided to try and learn during the weekend and I'm now good at making coffee." Bakugo hearing this smirks, not one of the scary ones, it was a smile but in Bakugo's face it would only look like a smirk. "Then make me a sandwich for my training everyday starting tomorrow."

Izuku gives Bakugo a smile, one that he didn't give in a long time. School goes on like normal. When it finishes Izuku goes home and another day of school ends.

As he was heading home, out of nowhere a knife flies his way, lodging itself on his chest. Izuku didn't react to pain but he felt the knife. Looking ahead a girl, blond hair arranged in two buns, walks his way. Izuku's fear increases as he sees the smile of the girl but controls it as he is used to feel fear. "Hello, Izuku Midoriya, my name's Toga Himiko. I think you are cute..." She starts dashing towards Izuku fast. "But I think you are much more cute with blood showing!" She says fishing another knife and stabbing him in an arm.

Izuku was focused in her words. Now blushing like mad. C-C-C-Cute? But that moment was quickly ended as he sees Toga getting one of the knifes out of him and goes to lick it. Izuku is fast to react and slaps the knife out. Stuttering words out while still blushing. "N-N-N-N-No. M-My blood is p-poisonous." Toga stops to analyse his words. now sitting on top of Izuku thinking. Did he just stop me from drinking his blood? But didn't stop me from stabbing him?

Toga cocks her head. "You okay?" Two words, Izuku thought hard about those two words that could mean many things. Deciding to answer he says. "Yeah... Pain his not much for me... I won't die and it's okay as long as you don't get hurt." Toga pouts at his answer and blushes a bit. "No fun! Without you screaming around is no fun! You don't even let me taste your blood! What are you gonna do now? Ask me to go to the police?" Izuku looked a bit dumbfounded. Well yes I would say that but I think there are other ways to approach this... Why not help her out.

Izuku takes out the knife from his chest, wound closing right away, and looks at Toga. "No. Actually I have some things to ask you." Toga cocks her head again surprised now. Izuku surprise by his lack of stuttering continues. "First what is your quirk? Why attack me? Why taste my blood?" Toga looks kind of sad but answers she has nothing else to do anyway. "Blood." She says lowly. Izuku blinks waiting for more. Toga blushes a bit at his reaction. "I saw you jumping of a building and splash everything in blood, since then I followed you around..." Izuku looks embarrassed from being told that. Izuku doesn't take pride of killing himself after all.

Izuku now looks more attentively at her, Toga's eyes were lonely, without much color, contrary to her face that had a eternal smile and blush, on the floor from where she trowed her knife his a big bag. "Okay... I see that you don't want to talk about your quirk so... Do you have anywhere to go to?" Toga's eyes widen but she doesn't say anything now looking wary of what the boy would do. Izuku continues. "I see that you don't... As long as you don't attack my mom and help out in the chores you can stay in the guest room. How is that?"

Toga's eyes lighten up widening at every word he said. As she replays every word in her head over and over again. Toga gets up and goes to get her bag from the ground. Izuku was picking up her knifes and noticed that his blood disappeared from the blade of the knifes. As he gets back up Toga's face was mere millimetres away from him, noses touching. Izuku not being able to contain is emotion, he steps back surprised. Toga then smiles, but this time is a more normal smile, not one forced like the last one. "Then let's go!"

The green haired boy texted his mom saying that one friend needs a place to stay for some time and that he offered her a room. His mom sent him a barrage of messages saying that she would clean the room and that he needed to go shopping for groceries. And there he was, on a shopping district, a clear cut on his uniform jacket right in the chest, looking around and going shop to shop buying groceries.

As for the blond haired girl, her and her golden cat like eyes were following every move that Izuku made, becoming increasingly happier with the little snack Izuku bought her. Now on their way to home Toga decides to talk. "My quirk is Transform, I can turn into anyone I ingest the blood from." Izuku hums as Toga explains the rest of her life. "My parents and friends didn't like that, I had a villainous quirk and I needed to hide it in a mask... My quirk made me affectionate with things that bleed, that scared my parents." Toga starts to tear up. "You don't need that mask in my home. I'm sure my mom will accept you however you are. Me... I don't even need to say that." Toga smiles and hugs Izuku's arm, making it even heavier as he was carrying the groceries. "After many years of abuse I finally decided to run away. That was three months ago. I don't want to use that mask again."

"I see. So what is so bad about your quirk?" Izuku asks receiving a light smack in the head by Toga. "Blood." Izuku then hums and its his turn to speak. "I lived all my life believing I was quirkless, after all you only now that you are un-killable when you die. My dream was to be a hero." Toga cocks her head. "Was?" Izuku chuckles. "Yeah, was. The day I first 'Killed' myself was when I was saved by All Might. My idol, the reason why I lived all my life with the dream of becoming a hero. 'You can achieve whatever you want', was the line I loved." Izuku looked at Toga, his eyes told her a complete new world that she didn't even realize existed. "It seems that to be a hero you need power. 'It is good to dream. But one should dream something realistic', was what All Might told me when I asked him if I could be a hero, even though I was quirkless."

Izuku sighed remembering everything from that day. "I took the step after he left." Toga was clenching Izuku's arm looking at Izuku like he had all answers for the universe. Izuku chuckled at her reaction. "Now its different. I will open a cafe, with luck I will be able to help people out like that."

Toga was surprised, she never expected a boy had such a past, someone that everyone told was useless and the one thing that gave him hope broke him too. How can you still be in one piece? Toga questioned him mentally, How can you still laugh and help someone like me? Toga while her head was mowing those question she asked. "Why a cafe?"

Izuku smiled at the question. "Why not? I'm the owner of my own destiny after all!" Toga now shocked, dumbfounded, asked again. "Why?" Izuku now laughing. "Because heroes will not help people like us. So why not be I the one helping them. The rejected by people, I will welcome them in my cafe, giving them work and a place to stay." Izuku paused a bit thinking a bit more. "Maybe I shouldn't just help anyone... I need to see if they can still be helped first." Izuku looked at Toga and gave her one of his bright smiles. "Like you."

Toga was with her jaw dropped, she couldn't believe she was just in a crazy plan of helping out people like her. And she liked it. "I'm in! Let's make the best cafe ever!" Izuku laughed loudly as he got to the stairs that lead to his home. "Yeah, I'm counting on you, Himiko Toga."

The blond was stunned, never she thought someone calling her name would make her so happy, that day she promised herself, I will do anything for Izukun.

And just like that she met a round, green haired woman, big green eyes just like Izuku's. The green haired woman that Toga got to know was Inko had a smile welcoming Toga in. Never Toga felt so welcomed in a house like she was now. Toga since the moment she started interacting with Izuku was ever a bad moment, one more exciting then the other, she was completely overwhelmed.

For Izuku the night ended quickly, Toga was welcomed nicely and was still asleep when Izuku woke up the next morning. Izuku like he promised Bakugo, prepared one sandwich, one with a slice of cheese and ham. Izuku leaving a note for his mom and Toga left to school, feeling even better than before. The pain was almost nonexistent already.

I'm now one step closer to my new dream becoming true.
