Chapter 28 Iron Man... shines
Currently, the Ten Rings organization is engaging in heinous acts before the eyes of the entire world. They forcefully entered a peaceful and impoverished village, heavily armed, and proceeded to arrest every man, woman, and child, herding them to the center of the village.
Their intentions were clear to everyone present.
Though war reporters voiced their disapproval, their efforts were futile. Being mere reporters, even with basic defensive equipment, they stood no chance against the formidable Ten Rings. The Ten Rings allowed them to publicize their actions intentionally, refraining from shooting at them.
It's possible they feared reprisals from certain countries if they were to attack the war correspondents, who might be affiliated with a nearby military force. Such an attack could potentially trigger a larger-scale battle. However, the well-being of the villagers held no importance to them.
Consequently, the Ten Rings continued to drive the villagers away, preventing anyone from escaping or daring to resist. The villagers were ordinary civilians, defenseless and unarmed. They were now being herded together like cattle, surrounded by heavily armed men who pointed their weapons at the innocent.
A tragic event was about to unfold.
In the most critical moment, a figure suddenly soared through the sky from a distance. It was a steel-clad body, adorned with fiery red and golden yellow.
Finally, Iron Man had arrived.
"Boom."
Tony swiftly descended into the heart of the village, striking a classic superhero pose upon landing, generating an immense impact.
Despite the seemingly average appearance of Tony's self-built Iron Man battle suit, which resembled a normal human, its strength should not be underestimated. It was a robust steel suit, and its original weight was considerable. This explained the need for nuclear batteries to power it.
Tony's sudden appearance left everyone in awe. No one had seen such an iron-clad figure that seemed to have emerged from a futuristic sci-fi realm. It was a sight entirely new to them.
Only Obadiah, situated in a distant country, couldn't help but rise from his seat upon seeing Tony on the television screen.
Excitement surged through Obadiah's heart as he eagerly observed the steel-clad figure on the screen. He couldn't help but feel a sense of superiority, believing that the person beneath that battle suit was Tony, and he relished the notion that Tony's suit was significantly inferior in his eyes.
Whether it was in terms of weight, defensive armor, or sheer power, it couldn't compare to his Iron Monger.
"What if Iron Monger were here right now?" Obadiah pondered, his mind consumed by comparisons. Ultimately, he concluded that Iron Monger would undoubtedly emerge victorious.
However, the current Iron Man was nothing more than an immobile iron mass. Obadiah found himself fixated on the Arc Reactor embedded in Iron Man's battle suit, yearning to develop a similar technology himself.
Regrettably, he could only watch from afar.
Before the camera, Tony wasted no time reveling in his cool and impressive appearance.
Look up and look around.
"Da da da."
Without warning, the Ten Rings members didn't discuss martial arts; they simply pulled the trigger, launching a sneak attack.
Why was there no opening statement?
But Tony didn't care at all; he only heard a crunch of 'clank' as sparks splashed from the surface of his steel battle suit. The enemy's weapons couldn't harm him.
Obviously, ordinary bullets couldn't penetrate the armor of his steel battle suit.
"It's my turn now," Tony naturally wouldn't allow himself to be passively beaten all the time. The battle suit system had been integrated into J.A.R.V.I.S's smart housekeeper system, and J.A.R.V.I.S also helped him track down every enemy around him.
After activating the weapon attached to Tony's armor, there was only a faint 'puff' sound, and the bullet-like projectiles accurately struck every member of the Ten Rings, clearing the scene instantly.
The people present were all bewildered.
Even the war correspondents stared dumbfounded at Tony, and the cameras remained fixed on him. Everyone dared not move, and they didn't even comprehend what had just occurred.
It wasn't until a child cried for the rest of his life that everyone finally snapped back to reality and realized they had been saved.
The innocent villagers embraced their families one after another. They had come close to death today. Who would have thought they would survive this catastrophe and be rescued by this sudden tin man?
The war correspondents rushed up as well, surrounding Tony, attempting to inquire about his identity.
Tony didn't give them a chance because he had other tasks to complete.
In addition to preventing the tragedy unfolding here, Tony had to eliminate all the Ten Rings' strongholds, particularly the weapons they acquired through Obadiah, which were produced by the Stark Group.
Those weapons from the Stark Group would ultimately be used against Tony, something he would never allow.
Furthermore, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase the power of his steel battle suit.
Thus, Tony swiftly ascended into the sky, inquiring about the location J.A.R.V.I.S had previously pinpointed, and headed straight for a nearby cave.
The cave was supposedly where Tony had been held captive, but he was never captured from the start, and this was his first visit to this stronghold.
Before Tony could arrive, someone nearby spotted him and knocked him down with an RPG. There were even a few tanks nearby aiming at him.
The Ten Rings were so powerful that they had obtained tanks?
But Tony didn't mind; he was now equipped with numerous weapons. Since it was his first mission, and the combat effectiveness of the battle suit itself was uncertain, he brought along a substantial arsenal.
For instance, he launched several wrist-mounted missiles, which appeared no thicker than a thumb but possessed even more destructive power than the RPG. They pierced through the tank's armor, reducing it to pieces.
Especially near the cave was the Ten Rings' arsenal. Tony's armor fully opened, revealing countless small missiles emerging from the upper body, followed by a hail of ten thousand bullets. In an instant, the surrounding area was engulfed in a raging inferno. Guns, ammunition, and rockets all detonated.
It was more spectacular than any fireworks display, mainly because the cost was likely much higher than that of ordinary fireworks.
Finally, Tony rescued a hostage from the cave, a man who identified himself as Ho Yinsen. According to Tony's later account, this thin and frail middle-aged man seemed to collapse at the slightest gust of wind. He was clutching a bag when Tony rushed in, grabbed a gun, and fearlessly confronted the Ten Rings members.
Had Tony not arrived in the nick of time, and had J.A.R.V.I.S not detected signs of life in the cave, he would have perished.
On that day, Tony truly shone, and no one had a clue that the man in the steel battle suit was Tony. Nevertheless, everyone clamored to report on the events that transpired.
And in the end, nobody knows who initiated it, but everyone began referring to him as Iron Man... Iron Man.
