Intelligence Training Method and the Fog.

Seeing the destroyed corpse, Luke pulled it up out of the water and walked out himself and landed on the cliff with a thump and the corpse landed next to him.

His current location was a quite some distance from Conner village, it had taken him nearly 10 minutes riding his Lukemobile, and no should come here anytime soon.

Rummaging through the collapsing corpse, Luke pulled out a few long and strong bones, the spinal cord, a few intact organs, and the mana core of the beast, before throwing back into the sea as bait for more or such creatures.

Luke knew this creature from his time at the Guild of Magic. It was called a 'Babyshark'. Apparently, the one who discovered the species had an intense sense of sarcasm and therefore the name.

"The Babyshark was a 12 ft long, 5 ft tall monster shark like creature with no eyes, and could only sense creatures using mana. This creature can be found to the west of the Gamin continent, and was most useful for its spinal cord, fin bone, its liver and heart, and its mana core. All of the above combined from a single Babyshark can be sold for around 20 silver, or exactly 1 gold. Note: This is an extremely dangerous monster living in the ocean, and should not be approached by those below Advanced Mage" [1]

Luke remembered the quoted price for this and got thinking.

'2 gold huh? If I can kill a few hundred of them within a week, then I would get enough to build a full fledge base.'

With this simple thought, his planning for the next week was complete, and he dived back into the now bloody sea, as Lucy sat down on the ground, setting up a picnic while enjoying the cool sea breeze and the evening sundown.

Time passed and Luke reached his designated quota, and a few hundred more to gather some pocket money. Although hunting was an excellent method of earning money and exp, there were better ways to earn money. But to do those methods, one needed a lot of money to begin with, and that was what the pocket money was for.

Over the past week, Luke just swam and swam and swam, along with breaks for eating, sleeping and relieving himself. (Shitting and pissing for those who cannot understand.)

Lucy just chilled on her spot, going off to the nearby woods to hunt some dear and rabbits to eat. Although she was not very strong, she was still a Level 12 Assassin. Killing rabbits and deer, who were mostly level 1, was a piece of cake.

Luke decided that now all he needed to do was to collect his money from the Guild of Magic. But the problem lied in that. He needed to transport the materials from a couple of hundred corpses, many of them being creatures slightly stronger and rarer than Babysharks.

Thinking about it for a while, Luke just decided to get it over with in one go to prevent others from stealing his loot while he was away.

So He used mana, which was the main form of energy he used, and covered all the materials in a blanket of wind, just enough to lift them in the air and move them around.

Waiting for a while and measuring the mana consumption, Luke decided this was a viable plan and told Lucy to pack up everything and get on the Lukemobile.

Since he was already stretching his comfort zone by controlling thousands of items, he told Lucy to drive and sat behind her.

Although his mana consumption was not that much, his control over that little bit of mana he was using was a lot, and was putting strain on his Intelligence stat and mentality.

Along the journey, Luke did not realise anything, but the bumpy mountain paths had made him slip forward slowly, and was now in contact with Lucy, whose face was already turning red and Luke bounced up and down on every bump.

Naturally, the Sage Luke had no such problems and was just trying to hold on to the materials floating behind him.

Suddenly, Luke shouted, "Lucy STOP!"

Lucy obediently stopped the bike, and Luke set all his materials down carefully, and the checked the notification he received.

[Congratulations! You have increased you Intelligence stat]

[You have used an unknown method of training to increase a stat without the use of stat points]

[Please name the method with a short name:]

"Intelligence training method" Luke said calmly.

[Why?]

"You talked! I had a feeling like this before!"

Just as the same force was going to wipe out Luke's memories, another force intervened and tangled into a big mess.

While Luke was cursing the system to answer him, the fog in the void above was chuckling.

"The more he grows, the stronger I get. Kekeke. You will bully him no longer!"

"Tch! I wasn't! I was protecting him!"

"From what?"

"You…"

Silence reigned in the void once more as the fog realised that the system knew who he was.

[1] For all those who do not like my currency system. It will remain like this until Luke begins to explore the various planes/ dimensions. Also, you just have to read. I will explain how much is each transaction in most cases, just like now.
