Jennie's POV
"I'm dead." I told myself while sitting silently and doing nothing. I escaped- for the second time, and went to the noraebang with Vincent. Mom wasn't at home, again. Dad's car was there but he was nowhere to be found.
"What's wrong?" Vincent asked, looking down at the song book while flipping through the pages. I grunted and ignored him completely. He had his eyes glued on the song book and hadn't stopped looking at that thing since we arrived at the noraebang.
"Oh, here it is." Vincent slowly pressed the numbers on remote control. The karaoke machine has buttons too, but it's too inconvinient and tiring. He gripped the mic and stood up as the intro began to play. It was PSY's hit song, Gangnam Style, he'll sing.
"Eh, sexy lady." He sang in a crack voice and danced into the ever famous horse dance. "Op, op, op, op. Oppa Gangnam Style." I put up both of my hands and covered my ears. Damn, Vincent sounds horrible. He sounds drunk!
I bet, I have no choice but the cover my ears until we go home.
"Alright!" He raise his right hand in the air wide open after a score of perfect 100 appeared on the screen then he instantly balled his hand into fist. Damn! That karaoke machine is a complete liar! I sighed loudly and rolled my eyes.
"Your next." Vincent grinned, flashing his very white teeth, as he handed the microphone to me. Woah. This is the first time I saw him with his square smile.
I shook my head and returned the mic to him. "No. I don't sing." I said, fighting the urge to sing.
(La la la la la la la la la)
"Niga baro deunggolbeureikeo!" I pulled my hair out of the ponytail letting it fall down on my shoulder. After awhile, I started nodding my head, rapidly, like a madman.
"Look who's singing." Vincent muttered but I ignored him and focused on singing. He's just jealous, because my voice is better than his.
After the song ended, I stood still and waited for my score to appeared. It has to be 100.
You're a star! The synthetic female voice said when the 99 score appered to the screen. My jaw dropped in disappointment. Then all of a sudden, a little voice in my head starts singing Side A's Tell me.
Tell me, where did I go wrong?
What did I do-.
"Better luck next time."
I glared at him after he interrupted me. "There will be no next time. We're leaving this place already." I grabbed his hoodie and drag him out of the room. I dont know why, but I've never seen him without a jacket. Maybe he's hiding something.
"Are you out of your mind. This room's rent cost me a lot." He exclaimed trying to escape from my tight grip, but was very unsuccessful.
"We're going somewhere 'better'." I made real sure to emphasize the last word.
"But we don't have any wheeled vehicles?" I took my phone out of my pocket and rented a motorbike with driver. I haven't seen Vincent drive so I can't let him do it.
The motorbike came after a few minutes. Vincent took off his jacket and threw it over my shoulders. "Wear this, it's cold." I was startled to see his body. It was covered with tattoo.
"Hey Jennie, did you hear me?" Vincent waved his hand in front of me.
"Ah, yes, of course." I answered, unsure if I will wear his jacket. He's only wearing a tight sleeveless shirt. He might catch a cold too.
"Hold tight." As the motorbike started moving, Vincent took both of my hands and wrapped it around his waist. I can feel his taut rock-hard abs properly now under his tight sleeveless shirt. Definitely a six-pack.
Noraebang means karaoke in Korea. No-rae means sing (singing) and bang means room.
