Chapter 1. The Malfoy Manor

Like many other progenitors of noble English families, the wizard Armand Malfoy arrived in Britain with William the Conqueror as part of the invading Norman army. They fought alongside in the war to claim the lands.

After having rendered unknown, shady, (and almost certainly magical) services to King William I, Armond Malfoy was given a prime piece of land in Wiltshire, seized from local landowners.

A grand manor was built and his decendents named it the Malfoy manor, taking his family name and upon it, his descendants lived for ten consecutive centuries.

Over hundreds of years, they maintained the grandure of the mannor and also expanded it by building more rooms and adding more protection and fortification magic to it. They even managed to expand the size of the estate to the lands in Wiltshire by annexing those of neighboring Muggles.

With their wealth and the favor they curried with royalty, many strange and magical lands, farms and estates were added under the Malfoy name. They also own valuable gold and silver mines. Non- magical muggle treasures and works of art, with priceless values were also added to an ever-expanding collection.

This expansion ceased slowly when the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy was passed, in which the Malfoys hotly denied any connections with Muggles to uphold their position of influence in the newly formed Ministry of Magic.

Today, the tension was high in the whole manor, all the house elves trying to keep the noise to a minimum and make themselves less obvious as possible. There was the constant moaning of a lady in labor pain and all the Medi-witches are doing their best and supplying magic to the mother, but the delivery is still very hard and difficult.

At last, the lord of the house, Lucius Abraxas Malfoy finally said to the Medi-witch near him to perform the 'Lady Ritual' to ease the childbirth, even if the consequences being not able to have a second child or the next six babies to be boys. As the result of marriage between the sacred house of Malfoy and Black, one of the most noble and powerful House. Even under the full effect of a respectable and sacred marriage bonding ceremony, it was very difficult for the lady to conceive and harder to care for a safe delivery.

Hence, Lucius no longer has any expectations of another child. He is now only worried for his child and wife. After another hour, finally on June 5, 1980, Draco Lucius Malfoy was born. He was named after the Draco Constellation in accordance with the custom of the house of Black and taking the Malfoy name.

At the that time, the Malfoy family was a supporter of the Dark Lord. Lucius took after the position of his father, Abraxas, a core member in the original organization that promoted pure-blood supremacy theory, which later changed their name to 'Death eaters'.

After becoming a new father, Lucius was less involved in the death-eater raids, only joining the meetings to make decisions at the upper level. He suited more in managing the financial side.

Then within less than a year, the Dark Lord, Voldemort, met with his accidental demise at the Potter house, leaving his followers to fend for themselves. Some notable ones were captured, interrogated and sentenced to Azkaban, the wizarding prison in North Sea. While some managed to escape capture.

Some prominent Families got their way out through bribing the Ministry, claiming to be under the influence of imperius curse. Some pardoned by testifying the name and deeds of other death-eaters in Court.

Lucius, with the right connections and money, easily got his Family out of any death eater claims.

He even helped several influential members, including Igor Karkaroff, who later became headmaster of Durmstrang Institute in Scandinavia.
