Valentine Story I: Warm Cupcakes

"It'll be one week before Valentines..." it was Megumi

"Yeah..." Riku replied reluctantly

"Whom you're going to give chocolates this year, Riku?" Megu asked again

"Everyone in the female club and if I still have enough time I might prepare as well for the male club."

"Riku, that's terrible you still don't have anyone in particular to give chocolates!?" Megu

"Megumi, why are you getting so worked up?" It was Aoi who noticed Megumi's strange behavior

"Because it'll be exactly seven days before Valentines... I don't know what to do!" Then she covers her face with both of her palms, acting like a child with tantrums

Here Yuuki enters the locker room.

"Oh, Hi there. What's with Megu?" she asked to Aoi

"She doesn't know how to make chocolates so she's quite desperate right now." Riku answered

Upon hearing her statement Megumi acted defensively.

"I haven't told you that I can't make chocolates yet! How did you know that!?" she said

"C'mon Megumi, everyone knows how hard it was for you to pass the baking class way back then." Aoi hits her right through the heart.

"You don't know how hard it is... It was the most humiliating thing that would ever happen to me! To be rejected by a guy because I can't make simple chocolates!" Megumi is having a delusion right now

*insert imagination of Atobe with his Crown and robe laughing horrible with the failure chocolate that Megu made (poor Megu)

"We can't do anything about it, I can make some for you then" offered by Riku

"No, it'll be your feelings that will be put into the chocolates! My feelings won't be conveyed then!" She is crying out loud now.

"Hey..." it was Yuuki

"If you can't make chocolates, why won't you buy one? It'll be easier that way, don't make any more effort if the outcome will be so bad." It is the final blow that Megumi faints, Aoi and Riku were shocked.

"Yuuki, that was so hard." Said Aoi.

"You don't have to be that mean, it takes a lot of courage in order to give chocolates." Now it's Riku.

"Sorry, I don't get you guys, why are you making so much fuss about chocolates?" Now it's Yuuki who changes her clothes into a tennis uniform.

"By the way, Yuuki, who're you gonna give chocolates to?" It was Megumi who barely made it back into life.

For that moment she stopped, then stared at the three other girls. They were anticipating an answer.

"None." It was the coldest tone they ever heard, even colder than the iceberg!

Then she left the girls dumbfounded.

"Poor Tezuka, he will never have a high school love life ever." It was Aoi

"Yamada Yuuki is not human! She's an alien!" It was Megumi.

"I thought she's going to give one to him... What a poor guy." Now it was Riku.

A few days passed, and it's the night before Valentine's Day. It was quite cold and the weather forecast said that snowfall might occur. Megumi is at the mansion's main kitchen and it was quite lively.

"Milady, in order to put your feelings in the chocolates you'll have to stir it passionately," said her butler.

"It doesn't have any connection with that, she must know the actual timing and the right ingredients in order to make an edible chocolate." The master chef of the household comments.

"Milady is so wonderful, I'm sure that the man who will be receiving the chocolates will accept your feelings whole heartedly." The maids and the headmistress are so happy *moe-moe feels and hearts flying (insert XD emoticon)

"Argh! I just hope that this one will be done right." Megumi said as she mixes the ingredients and the melted chocolate.

"I am so happy that everyone supports me with silly things I thought of." Megu said to everyone.

"No, we are the ones who are glad to have you share this moment with us, you really have grown up into a fine lady. I am grateful that I devoted my whole life to serving you Milady!" her butler was about to cry of rivers and the rest of them laugh for the precious moment they have spent together.

The actual day of Valentines, it was after class and Megumi was about to leave the campus, but before that she looked for Yuuki.

"Yuuki!" she called as she saw her on the way to the females' club locker room.

"What's up Megumi?" She replied

"Look at this!" She pulled out one small chocolate cupcake tied in a blue ribbon.

"This one's for you! I am an all-nighter in order to make that!" she replied so proudly.

"Oh, thank you." Yuuki replied.

"You know what."

"Hmm?"

"Why do you lack enthusiasm with Valentines, aren't you and Tezuka dating?" The dating part is said in whispers.

"It's not that I lack enthusiasm, it's just nothing to get so worked up and make chocolates." She replied.

"So what's the plan for both of you?"

"None."

"Gosh! Yuuki! Are you really a Japanese girl!? What happened to you! You must at least think of something to give him, okay now! I'm leaving! Remember this, think of something okay!? Don't just let it passed like nothing! This is a very special day for the two of you!" she said while running away!

"What's up with her? " Yuuki stares at the cupcake she is holding and goes to the locker room.

Megumi arrived at the nearby amusement park where she and Atobe agreed to meet up.

"Atobe-kun, sorry for making you wait." She said while running to him who is sitting at the bleachers.

"It's fine, I just came a moment ago." He replied.

"How was your day?" She tries to set up the mood and to have a chance to give the chocolates.

"Oh, this is one of the most tiring days I always have, the girls are so frantic in order to make me accept those chocolates they bought from different brands." He boasted out

"I barely make it also, because the girls are still running after me, I just made Kabaji save me and stop those girls but it was in a nick of time." He continued not noticing that Megumi got upset.

"I see." She replied.

"Well then, let's go?" Atobe asked.

"Yeah." She hides the paper bag behind her trying not to make Atobe notice of it.

"Are you sure you do not want to go to any luxury cruise or a five star restaurant? I can still make a special reservation for the two of us." He said, trying to cheer her up.

"No, it's fine, I just want to ride the Ferris wheel." She tried to smile to brighten up her mood.

"Okay then." Atobe guided her and they went up for line.

On the ride.

Silence.

"Megumi" he called when Megu was just staring blankly at the dawning sky.

"Yes?"

"Do you really enjoy riding this?"

"Yes, it's beautiful here, I can see the sky and it feels so warm even though they said that it will snow."

"Then when are you planning to give me those chocolates?" he asked bluntly, which shocked Megumi.

"H-how did you know it's for you and that it's chocolates!?"

"I called last night and said that you were in kitchen making chocolates"

Megumi was defeated and all her efforts to surprise him were all gone.

"I've been waiting for it, I have been wondering what homemade chocolates will taste like?" he said while his face was blushing, he was not meeting Megumi's eyes.

"Eh!? Don't tell me you haven't received any homemade chocolates ever!?"

"Of course not, you are my first girlfriend and those other girls only gave me branded ones." He is throwing a fit with her that makes her smile and blush.

"I thought the ones I made are embarrassing compared to those you received."

"I didn't receive any at all."

"Huh!? But you said that girls are so frantic in giving it to you?"

"Yes, they are. But I won't accept anything else but your chocolate, it'll be rude to accept others feelings aside from you." He said as he moved an inch closer to her.

"I am happy to know that." She gives a bright smile that contrasts with the dawn that makes Atobe get mesmerized by her.

"Keigo-kun, please accept these chocolate cupcakes. Please accept my feelings for you!" as she handed the chocolates she made.

"I am glad to." He gave a smile and held her hands.

At the peak of the ride, they seal a kiss as a proof of each other's feelings.
