The Verbal Backhand

After the cutting of the ribbon we were all allowed to enter the restaurant lobby, where a long line of staff stood beside the maitre'd. We were escorted to our tables and pretty soon a server came to take our order. "Are you ready to order, ladies?"

"Butter lobster with a Caesar salad," Sabrina handed back her menu and the server turned to look at me.

"The seafront scampi with ceviche," I handed back my own menu and clasped my hands on the table. The surrounding atmosphere was so luxurious and bright and it was perfect for networking. The people in attendance were equally as beautiful, and a feeling of pride filled me. "This really is amazing."

"I know right? I've seen at least ten doctors here," Sabrina looked around before nodding to herself. "Do you think you might find someone here to work with?"
