(A long trek to New Orleans later)

Once we made it back to New Orleans, we immediately went to the Guild, though we had a few detours and slip ups since X-23 wasn't use to being in the presence of so many people who weren't causing her pain. We walked in just as it seemed that Storm and who I guess was Remy's father were done arguing.

"Sorry to interrupt, but um, someone has something to say," I said, pushing Gambit towards his father.

Gambit looked back at me and gave me a glare while I gave him a sheepish look.

Before we got here, we discussed that we would both explain the situation, but because I sometimes cave in under pressure, I decided to give Remy the full spotlight.

"Jean? Who is this?" Storm asked me as she gestured to X-23, who was right beside me.

"Uh, well, this is X-23. X-23, this is my friend and one of my teachers, Ororo Munroe," I said, introducing them to each other as Gambit explained things to his father.

"And where did you meet this X-23, Jean?" Ororo asked me.

"I'll tell you everything when we get back to the mansion. I believe a certain clawed individual would like to hear about this too," I told her, and she nodded.

Once Gambit was done explaining everything to Jean-Luc, it seemed like he wasn't as phased by Remy's decision at all. I would assume Gambit must've done something like this before, or Jean-Luc was just as untrusting of Nathaniel Essex as his som was.

"I'm gonna have to do a lot of damage control because of your decision boy, but you did do the right thing in the end, so I'm not mad at you, but I'm gonna have to kick you out of the Thieves Guild," Jean-Luc said.

"What!?" Gambit and I yelled, although I noticed that Storm was silent and didn't seem surprised.

"You broke too many contracts for us, and the others are not pleased, so I have to make a sacrifice. Besides, it's not like I'm kicking you out on the streets, Ororo offered to take you to the school I'm sure your friend over there told you about," Jean-Luc said.

I looked at Storm to see if what he said was true, and she nodded her head yes.

"We'll take care of him, I promise," Storm said to Jean-Luc.

Gambit sucked his teeth and left the room.

"I'll go take him to the blackbird," I said to Ororo. "Come on X-23, I'll tell you a little bit about your knew home on the way."

I grabbed Laura's arm and took her with me out of the room, where Gambit was. I told him to follow me, and I took them both to where Storm had hid the jet.

"Woah, are you sure it's wise to bring a renowned thief around this jet?" Remy asked as we entered the jet.

"If you steal anything from this jet, a certain blue furry might claw you to death," I told him, causing him to give me a confused look.

"So, you're not gonna explain what you just said, mon amie?" Remy asked.

I ignored his question and started up the jet when Storm entered.

"Alright, let's go home," Ororo said.
