“Soon. I hope Ivan will be willing to marry my sorry ass someday.”

Shannon snorted. “Oh, please. He would marry you right at this very second if he could do that.”

Darren burst out laughing for a brief moment before sobering up a little. “I’ll be honored to have him as my husband.”

Shannon seemed pleased to hear that. “I know you care for him. Please continue to treat him well.”

Darren nodded. “I will.”

Shannon smiled at Darren. “Good. Is there anything else I can help you with?”

Darren looked around before shaking his head. “I think everything is done. The workers are setting up the sound system now. Some of the electricians are checking on the cables and stuff. They need to make sure the additional equipment and lighting won’t overload any of the power sockets all around the estate. I’ve also informed them to make sure the electrical cables are stored away properly. I don’t want anyone to trip on them before, during, and after the surprise party later this evening.”
