CHAPTER TWENTY SIX: FAMILY COMES FIRST

"Can you stop with your nonsense already!I told you that i was done with Jason the moment you stooped so low to f**k him behind my backs" Anna yelled.

"Fair enough Anna, but i haven't gotten over the fact that you stole the contract i was going to sign in exchange for f**king Jason" Christie yelled back, almost tearing up.

Wait what?!

Anna was so shocked with what she just heard now, that she was speechless for the moment and didn't know how to react to it.

Anna knew for a fact that Christie was a lying bitch, and would go to any extent and do things in her favour but then this was so true to be fabricated.

"I guess you didn't expect to hear that part Anna, seeing how stupid you look right now." Christie scoffed, coming closer to where Avianna was standing as she continued.

"You had it all Anna, everything was going just in your favour. You had your rich parents who were ready to support you and made sure you took over their company, you had your life already planned out. You had Jason who loved you to the core, even when you made the most foolish decision to run away from home all in the name of chasing a dream that wasn't meant for you, yet that wasn't enough for you Anna, the only hope I had to succeed and survive you took it from me and ran away, and now you think i'm going to keep calm for the rest of my life seeing you in a position that is supposed to be mine? That would be over my dead body!" Christie threatened.

Avianna knew that at this point, she had to say something so Christie won't think she was going to keep calm and watch her destroy all she had struggled to build for herself in the past six years now.

"Wow! So you think justifying your actions on how you f**ked my boyfriend behind my back, would actually make me feel guilty? And then what? Make me throw away my years of hard work all in the name of trying to make it up to you T, I owe you no apology neither do you deserve any pity from me Christie, you saw an opportunity and you didn't think twice to take it and so did I, if you think I would lie low and do nothing while watching you destroy my life you better come off cause that will never work." Anna blurted as she was already feeling disgusted with the fact that she was still in the same space with Christie.

"Anna, you don't know what you are actually getting yourself into." Christie warned.

"Oh shut up you slut let's see who plays the game better."Anna sassed back, looking at Christie straight in the eye as she made her way to the door and left.

Avianna knew that Christie wasn't going to back down this time but neither would she.

Enzo was still pondering over Cain's matter when he heard Cain's phone ring and with few words he answered the call

"I will be with you in a sec".

Enzo didn't need him to say anything knowing that reporter Kim had arrived.

Cain left his boss's office heading to the spot at the cafeteria, where he normally meets with reporter Kim and always with his mean face.

Entering the cafeteria, Cain spotted reporter Kim who was waving his hands for him to be noticed which Cain found so stupid and ignored him as he got close to him.

Reporter Kim already knew Cain was not sociable, rather he was more like let's get down to business type so he composed himself not to be embarrassed like the last time.

"We meet again, Mr Wintergreen." Reporter Kim said but in a more polite manner.

Cain took off his shades, to make sure reporter kim remembers that he likes keeping his work professional which reporter Kim understood immediately after seeing Cain mean face.

"What other information do you have about the other lady in picture with Avianna Queen." Cain asked, still maintaining his mean face as he was staring right at reporter Kim in the eye.

The question came as a surprise to reporter Kim, because it was never Cain's concern on who gets involved in any scandal with Avianna but knowing that Cain wasn't the type to answer any of his questions he had to mind his business and just answer Cain's question.

"Nothing much but why do you ask sir?" Reporter Kim questioned, as he couldn't resist the urge to do so.

Cain knew that what he was about to do was going to put his life and that of Christie in danger in as much as he obeys and respect Lorenzo's orders but then again, he couldn't stand to see his only family get into trouble while he does nothing about it after all Christie, was still his sister and he would do anything to protect her.

Cain could remember how Christie was depressed, and in pain for many years that it affected her mental health and had to be admitted in a mental hospital for some months all because of Avianna's selfishness.

Working for Enzo was all for Christie's sake so she could get her revenge on Avianna, though she was doing it in a very dangerous way because he knew much better than anyone else that Enzo is not the type to be played with, but he had no other choice as his sister's life was at stake.

"Reporter Kim'' Cain called to have back his attention as he continued "about the other lady in the picture make sure you don't ever get to write any other stories that involves her" Cain stated, with a tone of finality in his voice as he dropped reporter Kim's money on the table. Then he stood up and left the confused reporter Kim dumbfounded without giving him any chance to ask any of his stupid questions.

He knew he couldn't go against Enzo's order, but family comes first. He would do anything for his sister without any regrets.
