Chapter 5: My Sister Can't Be That Cute (Edited)

Hastened footsteps were heard from outside the door.

Clang, clang, crack, crackl.

Strange sounds echoed, and Bell quickly hid behind the bed, fearing that the door to his room might fly off at any moment.

With one final "boom," the wooden door, which had been in place for five years, finally fell. Bell's mother, Elena Minethil, entered hurriedly.

"Mom, what's going on?" Bell asked bewildered.

She had come and gone many times in recent years, and there had never been so much commotion.

"It's nothing, dear, I just messed up a spell," Elena said excitedly.

"Lym told me that you can control your magic now, is that true?"

Obviously, at that moment, there was no time to worry about those details.

"Yes," said Bell as he pointed to a scroll on the floor. The scroll lifted on its own, folded into a paper crane, and flapped its wings as it flew around Bell.

"That's amazing, dear!"

Elena rushed to Bell and hugged him tightly, trembling with excitement. Her son had really managed to control his magic, and she had thought that Bell would spend the rest of his life in that room. After all, she had seen many adult wizards who couldn't control their magic.

"Mother, I want to go out," Bell said, feeling suffocated.

"Oh, of course, dear. You can go wherever you want from now on!"

Following Elena, Bell crossed the hallway, went down the stairs, and finally stepped outside after about ten minutes.

What appeared before Bell was a spacious garden. Where the grass should have been covered in snow, only a few yellowed blades of grass could be seen.

Several cobblestone paths led outward. In the distance, there were several pavilions. In the center of the garden, there was a large fountain, which, due to the winter, was not spraying water at the moment.

Several trees were planted at the edge of the garden, Bell didn't know what kind of trees they were, they were tall and strong. There were swings, slides, and other toys beneath the trees.

Bell turned to look back, and in front of him was a castle.

Bell had never seen a real castle in real life, so he wasn't sure if this castle was large or small. However, Bell could proudly assure that this was the most exquisite building he had ever seen.

The castle had a total of four floors and was made of gray stone. The façade was adorned with various reliefs. The glass windows sparkled with colors in the sunlight. At the top of the castle, there were many statues, including roaring dragons, eagles in flight, and crouching gargoyles.

"Um... mom, don't we have too many statues at home?" Bell looked at the scattered statues in the garden and asked curiously.

When he went outside earlier, he also saw many stone statues in the castle's hallway.

"There was an evil wizard causing trouble around here before, so we increased the castle's defenses. But don't worry, dear, that wizard has already been defeated. We left the statues because they cost a lot of galleons, but if you don't like them, I can ask the house-elves to remove them."

"No, there's no need. They're fine as they are," Bell quickly said, fearing that Elena might call the house-elves at any moment.

Since he saw his mother, she had been in an extremely agitated state and hadn't calmed down yet.

"Dear, is there something you'd like to celebrate your first day outside? Tell me, and mom will buy it for you."

Bell thought for a moment, but he really didn't want anything.

During these years, his parents had been making a great effort to fulfill all his wishes. He had already obtained everything he wanted.

"No... wait, mom, I want a magic wand," Bell suddenly said.

"A wand? Dear, you're a bit young for a wand. Can I buy you one when you're a little older?" Elena said with some difficulty, obviously not expecting Bell to want a wand.

"No, it's not too soon, mom. After years of training, I think I'm qualified enough to have my own wand. Don't worry, mom, I'll use it carefully."

Joking aside, without a wand, how could he learn magic? He didn't want to waste time and would start learning magic after the age of eleven when he entered Hogwarts. What if he got delayed? He didn't have Dumbledore's meticulous care. If he died, it would be in vain.

Thinking about the fact that Bell had easily folded a paper crane with magic in his room, Elena felt it was hard for her to do it without using a wand. So, she finally agreed to take Bell to Diagon Alley to buy a wand.

After taking a stroll in the garden and getting some fresh air, they returned to the castle.

"Oh, right!" Elena suddenly said, "You haven't met your sister yet. It's about time for her to wake up. Let's go see her."

Bell knew he had a sister named Shanna Minethil, who was born more than two years after him. However, since he couldn't control his magic, it was dangerous for Shanna, who was still a baby, to be near him. Therefore, Bell had never met his sister.

And after all these years, because his parents and the house-elves rarely mentioned his sister in front of him (probably because they feared that Bell would feel bad about the fact that his sister was free to live outside the house), Bell had almost forgotten that he had a sister.

Following Elena to the third floor of the castle, they reached Shanna's room. When they opened the door, they found a much smaller room than Bell's, barely half its size. However, just like Bell's room a few years ago, it was filled with toys and dolls.

Shanna was already awake and, with the help of the house-elves, she had been dressed and groomed. She was about to go out.

"Shanna, come and see who it is." Elena pushed Bell forward and, with a smile on her face, told her youngest daughter, "It's your brother, Bell."

Little Shanna put her finger in her mouth and bit it, tilted her head, and looked at her mother... then at her brother... and finally smiled cheerfully.

At over two years old, Shanna had already learned to walk, but she still wobbled a bit, and one couldn't help but worry that she might fall the next second.

Bell stood there, looking at his little sister approaching, with a smile on his face and his hands open. She was saying "brother, brother" while her mouth let out a little drool.

At that moment, Bell couldn't find words to describe his feelings. It was like a giant wave breaking, breaking the barriers between him and the world, and also between him and his family. Or like a warm wind blowing, melting his heart that had been frozen by loneliness.

Looking at the little angel in front of him, Bell finally understood why he had been reincarnated and why he had been given a second chance at life. Surely, it was to protect this little angel in front of him, his sister Shanna.

Seeing Shanna staggering as if she were about to fall at any moment, Bell took a few quick steps forward and hugged her.

Shanna laughed in her brother's arms, showing no signs that it was her first time meeting Bell. Maybe it was the bond of blood or maybe it was the magical resonance, but Shanna felt an innate affinity with her brother.

She took some candies from her pocket and held them with both hands, offering them to her brother.

"Brother, eat candies, eat candies."

'...'

'Awww! My sister can't be this adorable!' Bell roared in his mind.
