Chapter 34

"She is the serpent who came as a ray of hope to the serpent clan, she is the protector of all snakes, she is the supreme serpent, she is even more powerful than me the Queen and she is the one who will annihilate our enemies and destroy the curse that was put unto us shapeshifting serpents." Mariam explained with a smirk on her face.

"But mom, who is she? I was the one who was born to bring back the powers of the shapeshifting serpents, then who is this empress now? Agaton asked confused.

"I am your mother dear so you should listen to me, look after your sister Meddy and under no circumstances shall you leave from this Nogase Mountain, I will go and prepare for her arrival I have got a lot of things to do." Mariam dodged the question and went away.

"But I want to know the name of that wicked serpent that won't let me go and apologize to Kisas!" Agaton spoke alone in anger.

Mariam got busy with the preparations for the Empress of Serpents meanwhile Meddy kept on disturbing Agaton whenever she tried to connect with king Kisas through water or mind connection. Days went by and the most awaited day by the serpent world finally came. Every serpent clan around the world left the homes to go to the Nogase Mountain to welcome the Empress.

Agaton felt dizzy and weak that day which worried Mariam. Meddy's neck was still broken and she was still bedridden. Agaton explained to her mom how she was feeling. When Mariam looked at the sky she noticed that the red moon was there in broad daylight, she then knew that the effect of the red moon has started affecting Agaton which was a good thing because it was giving her powers to withstand the immense power of the Empress.

Mariam saw the serpent stars coming towards the mountain and she knew that the serpents of different realms were coming for the coronation of their Empress. When Agaton saw all those she was completely stunned.

"Mom, can you see what I am seeing or do I have an eye problem?" Agaton asked to clear her confusion.

"What are you seeing Agaton that I cannot see?" Mariam confused herself.

"I am seeing the red moon and the stars are moving!" Agaton yelled thinking that she might be going crazy.

"Yeah and so?"

"Mother why are you speaking in riddles? This is abnormal what is this?"

"Agaton..umm.. it is your coronation tonight!" Mariam finally spoke after hesitating a lot.

"What coronation mom?" Agaton asked.

"Because you are the Empress of Serpents." Someone spoke from behind. When they turned and looked they found that it was Meddy.

"Sister..you ..you. .. you look fine." Agaton stuttered.

"Yes sister now before you ask questions I will answer all of them. I am the serpent of nature, serpents who are born by the Queen of Serpents can either because queens or they are given a duty to protect something. You are the Empress of Serpents, you were brought here to us by Lord Jesus Christ. Many many years ago the serpent clan betrayed Lord Jesus Christ. The past queen of serpents who was our grandmother was asked to keep the magical Cross of Calvary safe where no creature can reach it, he trusted her with this task as she was the most powerful serpent. The Lord knew that serpents were not greedy but then that cross was the most powerful weapon which could destroy this whole universe." Meddy explained getting too emotional.

"What happened next?" Agaton asked.

"The Queen of Serpents conspired and stole that cross to rule over the magical world, all the creatures strived and worked hard to get ahold of the Cross but in vain because it was protected by Lord Jesus Christ himself at that time which created a lot of enemies for the snakes. The Queen tried to merge the powers of the Cross with her's but that did not happen in fact she started losing her powers. That is when she made a deal with the wizards and lost the cross forever. She was then banished from this clan and this clan got cursed that, no shapeshifting serpent born here will be able to shapeshift nor use any of their powers except for the next Queen and her children. Grandma gave birth to mom in front of that cross we pray to every day. She left from this mountain and she vowed to come and face the Lord one day but she never did and no one had any clue as to where the magical Cross of Calvary could be, until the day you were born. We noticed that the magical cross was in your body and every serpent was happy and those greedy serpents of the past who tried to take it from The Lord had been banished from our realm." Meddy concluded her explanation.

"So I'm the Empress of Serpents and it is my duty to protect the serpents and serve Lord wholeheartedly?" Agaton asked.

"Yes and it is also your duty to protect the cross, that is why we never let you go these five days because it was appearing a lot and the enemies are always ready to take it." Mariam explained.
