Chapter 33

Meddy was so clueless on what to do to keep Agaton away from all the magical creatures for five days without hurting her. She kept on cooking up a plan while Agaton was still upset with her mother.

Agaton calmed down after an hour while Meddy came up with a plan to break her neck so that Agaton could stay at home to take care of her as it was the only place Agaton can be safe at because no magic nor any magical creature can enter with the Queen of Serpents' permission.

As Agaton was going to apologize to her mother, Meddy thought she was going out to meet Kisas so she broke her neck and shouted so hard to stop Agaton. Agaton hurried to help her sister out. Agaton used her tail to pick Meddy up carefully and she put her on her bed made of straws for resting and she called out to her mom.

"What happened here Agaton and why is Meddy lying down like that?" Mariam asked as soon as she reached there.

"Mom as I was coming to apologize to you after regretting what I did, I heard Meddy screaming in pain and I went to see what went wrong and I found out that she broke her neck." Agaton explained.

"Meddy how did you break your neck my dear?" Mariam asked but Meddy was not in a position to answer, so Agaton took the opportunity to apologize to her mother. They spoke and forgave each other and Mariam handed over the responsibility of taking care of Meddy to Agaton.

Agaton did so for four days and four nights. That was the fifth day and her coronation was going to happen at night later that day. The sky started becoming red at midday but it didn't cover the sun. Agaton found this strange and surprising but other magical creatures and Mariam knew that it was time for the empress of the serpents to get her powers and crash her enemies.

"This is good, after tonight no creature can prey on serpents ever again. We suffered for years now, I couldn't save my serpent clan despite being a Queen of Serpents. Vultures, wild cats, Eagles and many more came to prey on snakes whenever the were hungry and right under my watch, my parents were always disappointed in me. I was the only shapeshifting serpent back then and also the serpent Queen meaning I had all the powers to defeat all those creatures but I did not." Mariam said to herself crying and falling down to her knees.

"But I gave birth to the empress of serpents, I gave birth to Nogapele Agaton, everything will be fine." Mariam consoled herself.

Agaton sat in a corner and thought of a way to communicate and apologize to King Kisas for breaking her promise to spend twenty days with him. Agaton remembered that her mother once taught her how to communicate through mind connection. She closed her eyes and searched to King Kisas in her head. It took her ten minutes to find Kisas. She explained explained everything to Kisas as soon as found him but the connection disconnected when she was about to tell him that the sky is red.

Mariam went to Agaton and asked her why she wanted to alert king Kisas that the sky was red.

"I just wanted to ask if he knew anything about it?" Agaton answered her mother.

"You should have asked me, I'm your mom for goodness sake Agaton!" Mariam yelled.

"Why are you getting worked up mom, chill." Agaton said with a smile. "I'm going to to give you a chance now, tell me why the sky is red today?" Agaton asked.

"This red sky symbolises the arrival of the empress of serpents." Mariam said turning her back on Agaton.

"And who is that empress and where is she?" Agaton asked getting serious.
