"How do you know all this?" Isaac asked, his voice strained. The implications of what the girl was saying were massive. If a group of hunters specialized in tracking down dual natures, then his life was in serious danger.
The girl sighed, her expression weary. "Let's just say I've run into them before," she said evasively. "And I've seen what they do to those they capture." Fear gripped Isaac's heart. He had heard stories of the hunters, their ruthless methods and the experiments they conducted on creatures like him. The thought of falling into their hands filled him with dread. "What am I supposed to do?" he asked, his voice shaking slightly.
The girl placed a comforting hand on his arm. "You need to stay hidden," she said firmly. "And we need to keep moving. There's a place nearby where you'll be safe, at least temporarily."
Without another word, the girl resumed walking, moving quickly and silently through the forest. Isaac followed, his mind swirling with fear and confusion. The girl knew so much about his situation, but she was also holding back information. Trusting her felt like a risky move, but he had no other options.
After a few more minutes of walking, the girl came to a halt once again. They had reached the edge of a clearing, a small cabin visible in the distance. "We'll take refuge here for now," the girl said, gesturing towards the cabin. "It's hidden in a part of the forest that the hunters rarely venture near." "How can you be so sure the hunters won't find us here?" Isaac asked, his voice wary. The small cabin looked cozy and secluded, but it didn't seem like much of a shield against a group of ruthless hunters.
The girl gave him a small, reassuring smile. "The cabin is protected by ancient magic," she said, her voice filled with certainty. "It conceals the presence of whoever takes shelter here. We should be safe for a while."
Reluctantly, Isaac nodded, hoping that the girl was right. They crept towards the cabin, its windows dark and the silence around it only broken by the sounds of the forest. The girl pushed open the door, gesturing for him to enter. Once inside, Isaac looked around, his eyes taking in the small but cozy interior.
