The Second Mission Begins...

"CRAP! WE WILL DEFINITELY DIE!", Jim said as they went down to the heavily rocked ground with rock peaks showing in an arranged manner as if they were ready for war.

"We won't", however, compared to his anxiousness about Jim, Travis was totally nonchalant. He seems not to care even if they died.

"What the hell! You~~", Jim was about to reply to Travis with a curse, however,

*Swish!*

With a swish, Travis and Jim were both teleported to another place. As for where they were teleported to, no one knew where.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it seems that the first part of this program has ended. And all the students with superpowers survived. However, the 'normal ones' were more misfortunate. Almost half of them were disqualified in the first trial! Leaving us with only 5 normal people.", Mr Lee announced as they finished the first trial.

The crowd went into an uproar when they heard the results of the first trial were announced. They were totally surprised by the results of the first trial. At least they were expecting a few efforts from the normal people.

It seems that normal people can't really be compared to the ones with superpowers. however, they were also curious about the five people who were able to pass the first trials. Were they late developers? No one knew.

"As for those who passed the trial, they were Norman Conner, Roy Harper, Silva Haley, Jim Hale, and finally Travis Tale!. These were the only normal students who were able to pass the test without any superpowers.", Mr Lee finally announced the people who were able to pass the trial.

Sending the crowd into another uproar.

"Hm, This guy really surprises me! Doesn't he?", Mr Wright said as he looked at Mrs Rose.

"Hmph! He would have lost. He was just lucky!", Mrs Rose snorted and coldly said. Since she didn't like Travis, she didn't like the number of compliments Travis was getting from Mr Wright.

"I don't think so!", Mr Wright replied with a smile.

"Huh? I don't get you. Why would you say that? He has no superpowers!", Mrs Rose replied angrily. One could see that her hatred for Travis had already surpassed its limit!

"It seems that you hate normal people, especially that little boy. He seems to really annoy you when you see him. If you hate all the normal people, then why would you only focus on Travis?", Mr Wight said confusedly.

"I, I don't hate him! It's just that he is just too stubborn!", Mrs Rose stammered. Being questioned by one of the strongest people in the whole of the eastern continent made Mrs Rose really anxious! Moreover, the person they were talking about was none other than Travis, the boy she hated the most!

"Mr Wright, your advisor for the program seems to be discontented with your judgement.", Mr Bruno Evatt said with a smile on his face.

"Yes, I know. She doesn't seem to like my judgement about that normal student.", Mr Wright said.

"Hm, I see. However, I am sure of one thing. And that is that you have really good eyes! You were able to spot his hidden talent even before the program started!", Mr Bruno Evatt, smiled and said.

"Oh, I see! So that's what you think huh?", Mr Wright said with a smile.

"Hm, yes. that is what I totally think.", Mr Bruno Evatt said to Mr Wright. However, Mr Wright knew that he was lying! The main reason why he would initiate a conversation is because he wants to create a relationship that he can later benefit from.

'Where the hell am I now?', Travis thought as he stood up from the hard ground wiping off the dirt on his clothes. He then stood up and inspected his surroundings.

The dusty prairie stretched as far as the eye could see, flat and endless. Brush, burnt from the sun's blistering heat, filled the landscape with hazy colours. Cacti were everywhere. Some hid beneath the scrubs and rocks while others stood proudly twice as tall as any plant. Some were a fresh sage hue with needles so thin you could barely see them, a sharp difference from the colourful spring blossoms on their tops.

Yellow, pink, orange, red, and white desert flowers were gems of colour in this smouldering expanse, and far in the distance, like unmoving towers, stood the plateaus. They were the colour of rust reaching up to meet the aqua sky as endless as the desert beneath. Shimmers of heat glistened on the horizon while waves of blistering warmth hit him from the cloudless sky above and the parched earth beneath. The warm wind barely stirred the stiff brush a feeling of despair hits him.

The hot, arid air burned into his soul as he faced the barren desert surrounding him. He was currently in a desert!

"Damn It! Why must it be a desert? I hate freaking deserts! It's so dry here!", Travis shouted to express his emotions as he looked at the boundless hot desert. One thing he hated the most was deserts! It made his skin so dry and crampy! He never knew that he would be teleported to a dry desert with no one there.

However,

*Ping... Ping... Ping...!*

His watch suddenly sounded, breaking him out of his weird frenzy. "Hm, another mission huh? I wonder what it is!", Travis said excitedly as he tapped his watch.
