Soft Spot

Adrien looked up at me in surprise, "Why do you look so happy? What's K-Pop?" I face palmed at his cluelessness before remembering that he had been out of this world for 10 years. I wanted him to put me down first but didn't want him to either because of the crowd…and maybe because it just felt nice sitting on his shoulders.

A little girl looked up at us two and giggle before calling her older sister and pointing at us. The older sister, a pretty one, looked up at us and smiled. She must have been 20 or something years old, "Aw," she tilted her head, "You two are a cute couple."

Adrien raised his eyebrows at this and turned to look at the woman. I bet he blushed. I placed my palm on his cheeks to confirm the fact and for sure, I felt it warm up, making me blush too. This was more proof that he wasn't just a folder. How had I missed it before?

I bowed a bit, "I'm sorry miss, but we aren't dating."

Adrien looked up at me and grunted, as if he didn't want me to clarify it for the woman. I hit his shoulder and told him to calm down.

She laughed, bringing her sister closer to her, "You two should definitely try it out." She held her sister's hand and walked away, deeper into the crowd. Adrien started laughing after she left and automatically I started laughing too.

Hearing me chuckle, he abruptly stopped and cleared his throat and asked in a serious voice, "Why are you laughing, Ashe?"

I still couldn't stop laughing from the absurdity of the situation, "Because you laughed…"

"Do you think the woman is right?" I choked on my laugh and soon I fell silent too, only the noises of the concert and screaming crowd reverberating around us.

"What?"

"I asked, if what the woman—"

"Put me down," I demanded. He hesitated but soon, he did as I told him to. When he did, I didn't look at him and tried to focus on the boys on the stage. But he didn't take his eyes off me. "Did I say something wrong?"

I was silent.

Adrien tried to find my wrist and when he did, he held it, turning me around to face him. My eyes widened and I looked around unconsciously, "What are you doing?" I whispered.

He narrowed his eyes and cupped his right ear, "What! I can't hear you!"

"I asked what you were doing! I'm so confused right now!" I screamed above the music. He made an o with his mouth and nodded, hesitating, "I was wondering if I should say something I've wanted to say for a long time!"

My heart skipped a beat, but I tried to keep myself calm.

"And what is that!"

He pulled me closer and I tried to push him away but he kept me closer.

"You smell very nice," he said quietly and I heard it perfectly because we were that close. His warm breath fell on my hair, sending me into euphoria.

Saye's face came into my mind. No, no, no. This isn't how it's supposed to be. I was supposed to be with Kai right now, then make Adrien jealous then make him confess to me somehow…this was all wrong. How will I make Adrien love me if it was this way?

I nodded and he continued, "And I'm sorry for being mean to you before."

I nodded again and confusion flashed across his face, "Don't you have to apologize to me too?"

"Ah…" I realized and nodded genuinely, "I'm sorry for leaving you to die…"

He smiled and held me tighter and I bit my lip. He noticed that and laughed, "Do you like this?"

I closed my eyes and nodded once again. He bent down and ran his lips across my neck, "What about this?" Surprised, I shook my head frantically, my eyes still closed.

He pulled back and asked, "No?"

I nodded my head again, this time more forcefully, a smile threatening to leave my mouth. My heart, oh my heart, what was happening to me? Why did my tummy feel so weird?

He ran his hands up my spine to finally fall on my neck and hold me gently there, "Why can't I find it…" he asked himself. I frowned and asked him quietly, "Find what?"

He mumbled something that sounded like "Soft spot." I gulped. My soft spot? Even I didn't know what it was. I have never— I gasped and clutched the back of his shirt tighter.

"Ah…" he rumbled satisfyingly, "Found it."

I tried not to let out a moan as he kissed the spot on the side of my neck right above the area where it dipped down to my shoulder.

"C-can we stop…"

"Why, don't you like it?" he asked, confused, his grip on me loosening the moment I showed resistance.

"It's just that…there are too many people here…"

He blushed at the observation and stepped away from me. He looked the other way, "Sorry."

"It's okay," I sighed, "When will this concert get over, though?" I tried to keep calm while my neck burned with the memory of his kisses there.

Before he could say anything, the show was over and the boys got down from the stage. He smiled and looked at me, "You have a golden tongue."

I chuckled and held his hand this time to lead him away from the dispersing crowd. We were passing by the stage when a scream came from the black shed set up behind the stage. Adrien frowned and we ran towards the scream.

"What do you think it is?"

I shrugged and pulled him the other way, "There are people to take care of it, let's go." But he didn't budge. "Wait…I know that sound."

The scream echoed again and I looked up at him, "What do you mean? Where have you heard it before?" The scream wasn't human, definitely. It was shriller and louder.

He looked around at the hundreds of people around us and screamed, "EVERYONE! RUN!"

A few of them turned and looked at Adrien like he had grown a second head. Embarrassment rushed through me and I pulled him down, "What's wrong with you?"

I saw fear in his eyes and his fear entered me too. What was he so scared about?

This time, more human screams echoed from the black shed and a deafening tear sounded as the black tarpaulin of the shed was ripped into half by something from inside.

"Oh my God…" was all I could say before Adrien gripped my hand and we shot off in the opposite direction with him screaming for everyone to run. A few of them listened but the other few simply stood still, thinking that it was a prank.

The ground beneath us shook violently and by now, everyone got the idea and the whole area was in chaos. Once we both were at a safe distance from the stage, we turned around and looked up.

Our breaths were caught by a thread as we watched the humongous monster rise from under the road, breaking the asphalt open and screech even louder.

"Is that, is that…" I couldn't say it. I had only seen it in the graphic design plans back at HQ.

Adrien's jaw set in determination, "An Inexa," he confirmed. I tugged his sleeve, "It's not just one," I trembled and pointed to the far right, "It's a Colloid of Inexas. Hundreds of them."
