The Last Heroes: Warriors against the Sinful

An inevitable war broke out two thousand years ago in the Primal Region. Aliens, humans, and the 'special people' could not make amends. But peace was found at last the day one man stood between the three species. Later, the corrupted aliens and evil-doers devise a plan to out-smart this man. He died in the end, and the humans lost their home: Legon City, for 18 years. The 'special people' still live amongst the humans and have joined forces to retain the city! And these special people are known as...RONINS!

1.78: One Trial; One Error 2

Yuro stopped writing as his soul evacuated from his body.

("It's all over…at this rate, my brain is fried from the first five questions, and still twenty to go. The others are all cheating…BUT I CAN'T EVEN USE MY PROWESS WITHOUT ANY FIRE!!")

He began to sulk. ("I'm sorry, Tedashii…the team is done for with an idiot like me.")

Suno finally finished her test and took a break. "Easy Breezy! I almost fell asleep to such simple questions."

She rocked on her chair and suddenly heard sulking across her desk. "Is someone crying? What kind of loser would be crying over a-"

She quit talking when she saw it was Yuro. "Oh my god, he's actually crying about this…"

She looked away and kept smiling at her done work, but his sulking just got louder. ("My word, it's not that bad. You're just too-")

Yuro stopped and took a deep breath. After seeing what the rest of his friends were doing, he began looking around. ("I NEED FIRE!!!")

Suno figured out what he was up to, but she knew he was at a disadvantage. ("He's looking for any flame…hmm, I hate helping idiots…but he's an exception.")

She stood up and started to squint her eyes. "Uhm, Mister Tie, may I please get a candle? My eyes are hurting me."

"Are you sure? It's been an hour, and you only need it now?" He asked.

"Yes. I left my glasses at home by mistake, so I've been trying my best to see."

He looked her right in the eye, shrugged, and allowed her. She ran to the storage room and fetched one real fast. ("We only have thirty minutes left, so you better make this count!)

She returned to the hall, lit the candle, and stared at Yuro.

("OH!! WE'RE MAKING EYE CONTACT!!")

He smiled and waved back at her.

(What is he doing?! Wasn't he looking for a flame?!")

Suno began pointing at the candle with an annoyed face

("Oh, I get what she's doing. The candle is to add a little ATMOSPHERE! This is so romantic.")

Yuro started blushing and kept waving at her.

(SON OF A-…God dammit! Use the candle to cheat!!") She kept pointing angrily at the candle.

("Wait, why is she angry all of a sudden?") He asked with a confused face.

("USE, THE, CANDLE!!")

("I get it. The candle is not to light up the atmosphere…that sucks. WAIT!")

He wiped the sweat off his head, and fire lit from his eyes. ("SHE'S HELPING ME TO CHEAT!!!")

~FIRE PROWESS: BURNING VIEW!!

TSS!!

The candle got restless for a moment as it caught everyone's attention. Later, when it returned to normal, Suno pointed her answers to the flames.

("SUNO! YOU'RE AN ANGEL SENT FROM HEAVEN!!")

The three Motsubi siblings all linked themselves to finish the test simultaneously. Brianna had the most knowledge of humans and helped Brittany and Tedd out for the day.

("You're really good at this, Nana.") Brittany said telepathically.

("Thank you, big sister. I just learned a lot about humans from the dream world I was in.")

("Really, who was with you as well?")

Brianna laughed sadly and kept writing. Tedd did his best to maintain focus and keep up with their pace. ("Alright Tedd! You got this. Only seven more questions and I can finally lay loose and-")

All the motivation he had to continue ended as he realized who was sitting next to him. ("Ah…AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!")

It was Konami, who seemed to have been struggling with her test the entire time.

("She… doesn't look like she knows what is going on in that test.")

Regardless of the Verbis Diablo, she still had the brain of a nine-year-old.

("Should I…help her-I MEAN, it WILL be for the team…right?"

He looked down to her chest.

("For the team…")

And closer...

("the…team…")

And even closer.

(For her BOO-I MEAN TEAM!!!")

"K-Konami…"

He whispered to her, and she looked up. Urgently, he turned his back to her. ("AAAAHHHH!! EYE CONTACT!!... Keep it together.) Uhh, look. You don't seem familiar with this test today, so I…want to help you."

"W-What?"

"Look, if you don't pass, the whole team gets kicked out. So…"

VWOOSH!!

He instantly switched his test with hers.

"T-Tedd…"

("GAH!! SHE SAID MY NAME-")

"Thank you."

He turned to her and was blessed with her sunshine smile. "S-Sure…"

Brittany and Brianna suddenly felt their hands move back to the test.

("Nana, Tedd. What are you guys doing?") She asked.

("It's not me. I already finished mine, big sis; what about you, Tedd?") Brianna asked.

("Sorry, I just forgot to write my na-…!!!")

He finally looked at her test…and only animal drawings and other ronin's names were scribbled all over the front and back page.

("Tedd…?") They both called out to him; he smiled when he saw his name in bold in the middle of the page. ("Uhh, do you guys mind if we redo the test? …")

The clock ran down to zero as the second bell rang. The other teachers made their way back into the hall in time.

"Alright, everyone. Time is up." Azahii and Gaiyato said.

They all sighed in relief and were glad to see smiles on their peer's faces.

"Finally. It's all over."

"This was a piece of cake!"

"Why is my hand wrapped in a thread."

"GAH! DID YOU GUYS SEE THE EYEBALL IN THE CEILING?!"

All the students expressed many emotions without clear responses or reasoning to find answers. Yuro walked out, searching for Suno everywhere. ("Where is she?! Uh- there!) SUNO!"

She was startled at the sound of her name. "Yeah?"

Once he reached her face-to-face, he didn't know what to say.

"…"

"…You did not run all the way here to catch some air, did ya? Spit it out."

"About what happened earlier…THANK YOU!"

He gained everyone's attention as he went down on one knee.

"WHA…Why are you…?"

"Suno. You not only saved me from eternal poverty, but you saved me from losing it all. I could never have any other reason to know… you're the one for me!"

He took a diamond ring and tore a flower suit from his shirt. "Suno, will you marry me?!"

AAAWWWWWWW!!!!

She blushed as everyone began to chant for her to say yes. "Uhhh…I-I-I…"

"Suno?"

She blinked and saw him giving her a briefcase.

"You…want to give me a weapon? Money? Or what is that? (Too bad it's not a ring…)" She asked with dissatisfaction.

"It's not just anything. My dad gave it to me on my birthday four years ago; I've held on to it ever since. One reason I don't use it is because I am a striker, so I can't necessarily wield it."

"So… it's a weapon?"

"Yeah, hope you like it." He handed it to her and looked away.

She was disappointed with her expectations, but she still took the briefcase. "Well, I only did so that you don't get kicked so early-"

Suddenly, he hugged her. "I promise you…in return, I'll keep winning for you.."

And he took off afterward.

"OOO, Suno, we had no idea you had a thing for a boy!" Her friends said.

"OH, PLEASE! I would rather DIE! …(But I guess he's an exception..)"

Franco walked out holding hands with Nikki.

"Gotta say, you saved my butt there."

"Like I said, I can't let my boo get kicked out this soon."

"Oh…about that. Nikki, will you-"

Kiss!

She kissed him before he said another word. "My answer is yes."

***

Makoto and Rin were frozen by the scene they just witnessed.

"D-DID YOU SEE WHAT I JUST SAW?!" Rin asked.

"Franco…beat me to it."

A second later, they saw Ado chatting with Floria on the stairs.

"WHAT?! ADO TOO?!"

"What about Adri-"

They turned to Adrian to see him freezing on the gateway.

"Oh… he's still single," Rin confirmed. "…Hey, where's Tedashii then?"

***

A shallow sunset had his attention on the top of their hideout's roof. He seemed to have his head in a different set of thoughts.

("Hakuraa…what happened?")

You let your whole team down today. That was a wrong choice of action.

("How can you blame me? I had…to do it…I just…?")
