The Creation of a Pack Part 1

At the moment when Anna found Lex's dead body, Luke had finally made it back to his home. Although he had met some troubles along the way which included several humans attacking him, other creatures attempting to kill him, and getting lost along the way back. Two out of the three problems were caused by a certain child Luke took in as his kid.

"How far are we from your home?" The boy asked as he stared at the worn down research building that tells the stories of the many unfortunate people who were stuck here. "We're pretty close to it now" Luke said as walked and pushed open the door that led to the inside of the research building. As he traveled through the hallways and many corridors, the boy saw the many skeletons and torn up clothing left behind. "What happened here" the boy asked Luke and as a response Luke looked at the bodies before murmuring "something that your species regret awakening."

Before the boy could ask any more questions they had reached the final door. Luke pushed the door open and could see several creatures looking at the door with drool dripping from their mouths. "What a gluttonous bunch" Luke said before releasing a loud roar, the roar echoed through the facility and the creatures that stood in front of Luke fled in terror. As the creatures ran Luke looked back at the boy and saw that he had his ears covered, "he's lucky that I didn't use all my force to roar or else he would have gone deaf."

"Roar*"

"Speaking of the deaf" Luke thought as he looked at the giant pit and could see a familiar flaming lion coming out of it. The lion was covered in a bright red flame and had a majestic figure about it. It also wasn't the only ones coming from the pit as several creatures that Luke has never found on his old continent.

Their body resembled that of the extinct Dire wolves as they were the same height and width with the small changes that show they aren't from the surface. Their shoulders had a white plating covering it and small pockets of flame could be seen coming out of them. They looked as though they could be used as a form of thrusters that could make them run faster. On their face was a white plating that covered the top part of it and on the sides of its head were bull-like horns. Their eyes were a fiery orange, and several red veins could be seen bulging from the corner of their eyes. They walked as though they were domineering and the apex of apex predators.

"I'll call them Hell Hounds" Luke thought as he walked towards the lion with the small boy following behind him. As he walked towards the lion and Hell Hounds the Hell Hounds began to lower their heads down as if they were respecting a leader, the only who wasn't lowering their heads was the lion. Luke stopped in front of the lion and stared at his eyes for a bit before beginning to snarl. The lion stared at Luke's six eyes and after a few seconds lowered his head towards the ground.

Luke puffed out a breath of air as he looked at the young boy behind him. "Get on my back, we're heading towards my home" Luke said as he walked past the lion and headed towards the pit. The boy quickly got onto Luke's back and stared at the giant pit that was in front of them. "Is your home on the other side of the pit" the boy said with a bit of fear in his words as he stared at the pit that was getting bigger and bigger the closer, they got.

"No, my home is inside the pit" Luke said as he now stood on the edge of the pit. "You ready" Luke said as he wrapped one of his weapon tails around the waist of the boy and tightened his grip on the ground. "No, I'm not ready" the boy said as he stared at the ginormous pit, but his words were ignored as Luke soon jumped into the pit.

The boy began to yell as they began to fall deeper and deeper into the pit. "Where was my home again?" Luke thought as he looked at the various passages that were passing by him. "Ah, found it" Luke said as he quickly used his feet to latch onto the walls, slowing his fall. After a couple seconds of sliding down the walls of the pit Luke finally came to a complete stop next to the entrance of his home. He soon crawled towards the entrance and walked normally once he had his feet on solid ground once more, "so how was the trip?"

The boy had bubbles coming out of his mouth and his eyes shut, "guess he passed out." Luke walked around his home and noticed several changes. One change was that it was dug out more and had several passages connecting to it. Another was that there were several pieces of grass in these passages that seemed to be used as some sort of bedding. "I think I know what's going on here" Luke thought and soon the answers came into the cave as the Hell Hounds and lion soon walked into the cave.

Luke looked at the lion, looked at the grass filled passages, and looked back at the lion. The lion looked at the Hellhounds before speaking, "thew cualdnt mke a hme fr themslves" the lion said in the most broken words possible. Luke tilted his head as he was confused as to why the lion spoke like that only to remember he was deaf. "He doesn't know what he sounds like when speaking" Luke said as he walked towards the right wall and grabbed one of the rocks. Luke soon walked towards the table, that now had several more scratches and gnaw marks on and laid his head on the table. He soon lifted his head and signaled for the lion to lay his head onto the table.

The lion listened to Luke's signal and laid his head onto the gnawed and scratched up table. Luke twisted the top of the rock and the rock soon opened up. Luke titled the rock above the lion's ears and soon a liquid began to pour out of the rock and move deeper into the ear of the lion. The lion flinched as it felt the cold liquid move into the deep parts of its ears. Luke moved towards the lion's other ear and poured the liquid into that ear as well and got the same reaction from the lion.

After a couple seconds the lion felt a discomforting feeling coming from the deep parts of his ears and tried to rub his ear with his paws but was stopped by Luke placing his own paw on top of the lion paw. The lion stared at Luke for a bit before lowering his paw back down. After a couple more seconds the feeling of discomfort disappeared, and the feeling of liquid slowly disappeared as well.

"How does it feel to hear again?" Luke said as he stared at the lion. The lion made a shocked face as he could now hear Luke's voice, "did you heal my ears?!" Luke looked at the lion for a bit before placing the rock back with the rest of the rocks, "yes I did, now can you answer my question?"

The lion stared at Luke for a bit before looking back at the passages that had grass in them. "Oh, those yes, well you see after you left several of these fellows began to crawl out and couldn't create a home for themselves due to many of the other creatures attacking and injuring them. So, I made them join our pack and took them into your cave and told them to expand the cave and make a living space for themselves to rest in."

Hearing the explanation, Luke looked at the Hellhounds and noticed several cuts and bite marks on their bodies. "I understand the reasoning to you bringing them to my cave, but why did you call us a pack?" The lion looked at Luke for a bit before speaking "well you are my leader so that makes you the pack leader, and in turn creates a pack."

Luke looked at the lion for a bit before sighing and looking at the Hellhounds. "Well having people bring me food is better than doing it myself" Luke thought to himself as he stared at the Hellhounds. "I'll allow you to stay as long as you expand the cave and bring back some food, '' Luke said and the Hellhounds quickly nodded.

"Now to handle the last problem" Luke thought as he placed the passed-out child onto the table. As he did so he could see the lion drooling from his mouth, "hey this is a member of our pack, you got it!" The lion looked at Luke with a perplexed look before lowering his head "yes I understand."

Luke breathed out a sigh before looking at the passed-out boy. "Hey, wake up" Luke said as he began nudging the boy with his paws. After a couple seconds of nudging the boy, the boy finally woke up "w-where am I?" The boy said groggily as if he woke up from a deep sleep and is now syncing back with reality.

"You're at my home and are a member of my pack, congrats' ' Luke said before walking past him and laying down on his now dried up grass bed. It was a bit rough and uncomfortable, but he was too lazy to get some new grass and he was already tired from the recent incidents that occurred to him in the past couple days.

Luke closed his eyes and soon fell into a deep, calm, sleep.

Back at the Hunt base Anna and Carl could be seen looking at a video recording showing the massacre that had happened to Lex and his men. "Did you notice?" Carl said as looked at the video more intensely. "Yeah, it has the same eyes as H-00" Anna said as she glared at the creature that had finished speaking with lex and clamped its jaw onto his head.
