Amelia's Memories Pt. 4

The little boy who's named Alexander Ross and I played for a while under the willow tree. He's sweet, kind, and cute. I felt happy and sad at the same time. I did not even notice that I started to cry.

"Why are you crying?" he asks while offering a handkerchief to me.

"I-I don't know...I just feel like I wanted to cry." He put down the teacup and move closer to me. He hugged me without hesitation and patted my back gently which made me cry even more.

"It's not your fault, Cassandra. It's not your fault." I was confused by his words. It was coming from a cute little child but I feel like I am talking to a mature person.

"W-What do you mean?" I looked at him. He just smiled at me and wiped my tears. He hugged me again.

"I died because I wanted to protect you. We died because we loved you." His words made me more confused but I cannot say anything back. I was just crying.

While being confused, he let go of me and stand up. He reached his hand to me.

"Follow me. I want to show you something." I wiped my tears and even though I was confused, I followed him.

The surroundings suddenly just changed and we went out of the forest. Upon being stunned by things happening to me, our old house suddenly appeared in front of us. There was a woman standing in front of our house. The little Alexander Ross ran in her direction and he was talking to him while smiling. The woman turned around and I cried again upon seeing her face, it was my mom.

I ran in their direction and hurriedly hugged my mother. She gently patted my back while hugging me back.

"I think it is time, Cassandra," she said.

"For what?"

"You need to remember what really happened 10 years ago. You need to remember the truth," the little Alexander said while he hold my hand.

Both mom and the little Alexander hold my hands. Mom opened the door of the house and we entered together.

The scenario that welcomed me was the day when uncle Edward and my father was fighting each other. While there was the eight-year-old me crying at the staircase for my mother's dead body.

Then, there was a little boy running in my direction.

"Cassandra, don't cry. Please."

"B-But my mom! Dad killed my mom!"

Alexander glared at my father.

"Cassandra, stay here. Okay."

"Alex, w-where are you..."

Alexander hurriedly ran in my father's direction. He was the main reason why uncle Edward was able to kill my father. Without him, uncle Edward might not be able to handle him. As Alexander struggles to interrupt him by pushing the chair towards him, uncle Edward was giving all his best to gather all the energy left at him and was planning to stab my father from his back. Father managed to dodge uncle Edward's intention. Alexander hurriedly bit my father's arm and he hurriedly pushed Alexander away, which result in falling his head into one of my mother's big pottery.

"Alex!" I ran in Alex's direction. Blood started to flow from the back of his head. I bawled so loud that I sensed a rusty taste in my throat. I held Alex's body as he slowly lose consciousness.

I can hear Uncle Edward's voice telling me to run. I hurriedly turned around and I saw my father, step by step, walking in my direction. My feet felt numb. I cannot move even an inch. That's when I started to tell myself that — this is it. This is my last day. Father smacked me with a bird statue, one of my mother's house decors.

I also fell down on the floor. I can feel the warm blood flowing through my body. I can see Alex's body beside me. I hold his hand. It's still warm. It's nice. I may not be able to wake up but it is nice to die along with the people I loved. My mother and brother protected me as well as my only best friend, Alexander. Do I deserve this? I am lucky to die with them because I cannot handle what happens next if I will still be alive.

"Now, let me ask you something, Cassandra. Did you live a happy life?" the little Alexander asked me.

"I...I-I'm sorry!" I started to cry again. Mother hugged me and tried to go comfort me.

"It is our choice, darling. You don't have to say sorry. It is not your fault," mother said as she gently pats the back of my head.

"She's right, Cassandra. Besides there is one more thing left that you need to know," Alexander added.

"What? What is it?"

"Darling, you must open the treasure," mom said.

"What treasure, mom?"

"When the moon shines brightly, the mirror will reflect it shortly. Unlock the treasure, and you will find pleasure."

"That's it? W-what do you mean, mom? Where can I find the treasure?"

Right after mom finished her sentence, she and Alexander left the mansion. I hurriedly followed them but when I opened the door. I turned back. I returned to the forest where I started still holding into the stuffed rabbit.

I still cannot hear Ms. Bonsworth's voice. With all the confusion I calmed myself and sat under the shade of a tree. My eyes feel heavy and I leaned my back on the trunk of the tree.

When I opened my eyes, I returned to reality. I saw Ms. Bonsworth's face.

"Welcome back, Amelia," she greeted me with a smile. She gave me some tissue to wipe my tears.

"So, how was it?" she asked. "I-I remember everything but..." Right before I finished my sentence she interrupted me with another question. "What happened? You did not respond to any of my questions earlier."

"I also don't know but Ms. Bonsworth your voice suddenly disappeared. And..."

"And?" Ms. Bonsworth asked me attentively.

"Ms. Bonsworth..."

"Yes, Amelia."

"I...I-I think I need to go." I suddenly sit up and took my bag laying on the floor beside the couch.

I did not even notice Alexander and left him without saying anything. I hurriedly went home and looked for Mr. George.

"Mr. George! Mr. George! Mr. George!"

I am hurriedly looking for Mr. George without noticing the maids that were running to get my things. There were no signs of Mr. George so I went to his office without his permission. I looked around and went to his table I saw his tablet and opened it.

"Lady Amelia!" He hurriedly went in my direction and grabbed his tablet.
