Strange Bug

On the second floor of the Earth Federation building on Volantis, a man sat in a dark room behind a desk staring out the window. Suddenly an alert came from his Holoring and a map popped up with a blinking red dot near the corner.

"Hmm the beacon went off from the Vault, hopefully those idiots made it to the planet's surface. Though I doubt." the man sat staring at the chart with the glare off his glasses before closing out the screen.

Suddenly another alert sounded and the screen came from the Holoring once again with a red blinking light. Though this signal was on the planet itself and not in it's orbit.

"Those useless bastards have found it. Ahahahaha, eck." the man threw himself in a laughing fit so hard he couldn't help but cough.

"Mikealeo, I need you to go and find them, well more precisely bring the Savorium back. That is top priority, understood?" the man spoke while filling a glass with wine, though the room was empty.

"Yes." the voice was brief yet confident followed by an orange light and a crash that left a hole in the ceiling.

'Ugh I don't care how strong he is, he WILL pay for that!' seeing the hole in the ceiling exposing the night sky had displeased the man severely causing him to spit out his wine.

"Damn my head is pounding"

Nicholas looked over to where Fuego was resting and saw him sitting up looking around the cave when suddenly his eyes rested upon Xavier and he jumped back.

"Firstly where am I? Who are you, you bastard? Why are you so close? Have you never heard of personal space?" Fuego was poking and pointing at Xavier to get him to back up.

Xavier stared at Fuego for a brief moment before getting up and walking away to the campfire. "Xavier, the bastard who saved your sorry ass and tended to your wounds. You're quite ungrateful."

"Wait no I didn't mean it like- ugh damn that hurts." Fuego attempted to apologize while getting up but fell back gripping his head.

Nicholas walked up to his still injured friend and stuck his hand out. "You really suck especially after people help you. Haha but don't mind him he's just tired from everything that happened, well we all are."

Fuego took his friend's hand as he helped him over to the fire where everyone else was sitting. "Commander you're here too? Did anyone else survive?" The commander just looked up at Fuego in silence while shaking his head.

Fuego just nodded in understanding especially since he witnessed everything firsthand before blacking out. 'I should be glad I'm alive honestly.'

"Though all those people had their lives sacrificed for a suicide mission from a Councilmage personally. We weren't sent here fro recon we were sent here for the damn Savorium in this cave!" Nicholas couldn't help but get angry at the nonchalant attitude the Commander was having in spite of all his subordinates' deaths.

Commander Luffy couldn't help but sigh and remain silent as Nicholas updated Fuego of the current situation.

"To make matters a even worse he just lied to everyone about splitting millions of Eurons! I'm positive he just pocketed it and sent it all to his family knowing where we we're headed still-" Hearing Nicholas' caused Fuego to raise his hand in order to get the man from continuing his rant.

Fuego just looked at the Commander in silence as the fire crackled. "All I want to know is do they know where we are?"

"Yes I sent out a beacon giving away our precise location. They should be arriving soon so it shouldn't be too long." Commander Luffy opened his Holoring and took out a few packages of rations and distributed them among everyone.

"Ha, the only funny part about this is this was your original group excluding me." Commander Luffy tried to lighten the mood but it was met with everyone just staring at him while they opened their rations.

Fuego opened his rations and his face distorted in disappointment when he discovered it was only coleslaw. He then packed it away in his pocket due to his Holoring being destroyed and stood up. "I need to go for a walk and clear my head. I'll be back."

"Do you want me to come with you?" Nicholas looked up at his friend knowing what his answer was but still asked him anyway. Fuego just shook his head and turned around slowly going deeper in the bright blue cave.

Fuego walked limped slowly through the cave while looking at the Savorium through out cave, his emotions swelling even more. 'Damn rich bastards! They think that we're just expendable, ugh my head."

Fuego grabbed his head and looked at his hand as stains of blood was all over his palm. "Maybe I'll go take a break before heading back." He then sat on the ground and saw a strange bright blue centipede about half a meter long. Fuego then reached to pick up the bug when a drop of blood form his hand fell on one of the stones it was eating.

"What a strange looking bug, maybe it's a Delfiend?' Fuego stared at the bug intensely as it ignored him until it reach the pebble with his blood on it. The bug just rolled it around for a moment before eating the blood covered pebble.

After eating the pebble the bug stopped and looked at fuego with its small beady eyes. "Ok don't look at me you're the one that ate it." Fuego couldn't help but blame the bug for its dietary habits.

Though instead of attacking him the bug scuttled away to a large nearby hole and climbed in it. The bug then returned with a large round, black and white object in its mandibles. It dropped the object in from of Fuego before sitting quietly.

"You want me to pick it up?" Fuego knew some Delfiends at higher ranks possessed a form of sentience equivalent to humans. He was suspicious of the bug bringing him the object after ingesting his blood. The centipede clicked it's mandibles together on annoyance and scuttled away from Fuego, leaving him alone.

"Wow, rude much!" Fuego couldn't hide his displeasure at the bugs attitude but ignored it and examined the object it brought further. It was a large pitch black egg with what looked like a snakes skeleton wrapped around it. "What the hell is is this....?" Fuego leaned in to grab the egg when he heard a bang from outside the cave.

Several pebbles dropped from cracks that were formed along the caves ceiling. Fuego quickly stood up with panic along his face. "I need to head back before this thing collapses." He walked towards the camp when suddenly an explosion blew him backwards. He was flying towards the end of cave when he saw that he was about to land on top of the egg.

Fuego quickly covered his hands with is face when suddenly the skeleton wrapped around the moved and but at his hand. "Ahhh! What in the..." Though his words were cut off soon he suddenly was wrapped in a cocoon made of bone and fire.
