Lightning Strike

"From the map, this is where the lightning spells are. Okay, let me see what kinds of spells are inside this room.", Jim said as he stood in front Of a large door. The room behind the door was where all the basic lightning spells were kept. Jim found it by following the route that was on the map given to him by Mr James.

Jim then opened the door only to see a large room with a single bookshelf in the middle. Jim wasn't really shocked when he saw the empty room. He knew the reason why. It was mainly because the spells of the lightning element were very difficult to get. The school having a lightning spells library was already a very big achievement.

Jim began to walk towards the only bookshelf to choose a spell to learn and cultivate. " Hey, kid! Did you get the lightning element? It has been a really long time since someone got that element in this school.", a voice came from behind him.

Turning his head to the source of the voice, Jim saw an old man who was wearing the attire of a school management elder. Management elders were supreme existence in the school. They were existences only under the departments head. They rarely show themselves. However, whenever they showed themselves, it means an event was about to take place.

There was something strange about the one in front of him. Management elders were extremely popular people in the whole school. Jim knew almost all of them. Moreover, most of them were young and energetic men and women. However not only was the one in front of Jim old— around the age hundred, but Jim couldn't also Identify him.

However, an elder was always an elder. Jim didn't treat the old man rudely just because he couldn't recognise him. So Jim turned to the old man and bowed to him while saying,

"This disciple greets the elder."

"Hahaha, you have good manners. However, why aren't you treating me as a stranger? How can you be sure that I am not an imposter?", the old man asked with a smile on his face.

" This disciple knows that because from elder's aura, this disciple can see that you aren't a bad person. And even if this elder was an imposter, there was nothing this disciple could do to this elder because of his strong cultivation.", Jim said.

"Kid, you have a sharp eye. Come, come. I help you choose your spell because of your humble behaviour.", the elder said in a satisfied manner whiles walking towards the shelf in the middle of the room.

At this moment, Jim raised his head and then turned his attention to the shelf in the large room. He then followed the elder to the shelf. When was close enough, he could see that there were only five books on the large shelf. Each with their names written on them.

" Kid, you can choose whichever one you want. I will give you some advice on which one to choose. ", the old man smiled and said to Jim.

" Thank you, senior.", Jim said before heading towards the shelf. When Jim got close enough, he could see the names of the spells better. They were;

THUNDERSTORM TECHNIQUE

LIGHTNING SPEED TECHNIQUE

LIGHTNING SWORD TECHNIQUE

LIGHTNING SLASH

LIGHTNING STRIKE

Jim read all the names however, he didn't know which one to choose so he asked Drey.

"I think you should choose the lightning strike. That was the first spell I wanted you to learn anyways.", Drey said.

"You know this spell?", Jim was surprised.

" Of course! It's the first spell it learnt. If you can master this spell, I will teach you the intermediate level of this spell.", Drey said in a prideful tone.

So Jim turned to the old man and pointed to the Lightning strike technique book. "I want this one!", he said to the old man.

" You like that one? Are you sure? It's the most difficult spell to master here.", the old man revealed a surprised face.

Jim nodded his head.

"Hmm. Good choice. Even though it takes a long time to master, after its mastery, it produces a very powerful attack when mastered.", the elder said.

"Thank you senior.", Jim bowed and said.

" Great. I'll give you one free spell because of your behaviour", the elder said and then handed the lightning speed technique to Jim.

"Take this too. If your teacher asks you why you took two spells give him this.", the elder said as he gave Jim a token.

" Thank you senior.", Jim said in a tone filled with gratitude.

"Don't worry. Now go else you will miss the gathering.", the old man said.

" Thank you, senior. May this junior know senior's sacred name?", Jim bowed and asked.

"Just call me Elder Quinn.", the old man said.

" Thank you elder Quinn. This junior may take his leave now.", Jim bowed and said before walking out of the room.

Jim took the same path he used when entering the Speels library and then exited it. When he got out, he saw a lot of students gathered outside. Almost all the students who went in were back.

"Phew. I was nearly late", Jim said as he entered the crowd.

" Hey, Jim. What spell did you get?", Jones's voice came from behind him when he entered the crowd.

"I got great spells. What about you? ", Jim turned to Jones.

" Of course! You will have great spells because you were the only one who got the lightning element. As for me, I got a medium rank spell. However, I still like it.", Jones said with a smile.

"Jim Hale! Come here!", Mr James' angry voice came from the front of the crowd.

"We'll talk later.", Jim said to Jones before running to where Mr James was.

"From the searching tablet, you took two spells. Give one right now.", Mr James said angrily when Jim reached him.

He was currently holding a long black tablet that had Jim's name on it.

" It's Jim again. What trouble did he cause again."

"From Mr James' angry tone it seems that it was a very terrible thing he did."

The crowd burst into an uproar when they heard what Mr James said. Jim suddenly became the centre of attention.

"Yes, the senior said I should give this to you.", Jim said as he handed the token the old man gave him.

The moment Mr James saw the token, surprise and disbelief filled his face. He turned to him and asked with a smile,

"Jim who gave you this?"

"A senior from the library", Jim said. He intentionally didn't release any information about the senior.

" Ok, you can go.", Mr James handed the token back to him.

"Thank you!" Jim said to Mr James before going back to the crowd.
