A Real Mage

"Everyone follow me!"

*Bang*

However, just at this moment the classroom door opened with a loud bang.

A student who was covered in sweat entered whiles panting loudly. As for who that student was, it was naturally Jim. He was late.

" Am I late?", Jim said as he looked at the class who were all looking back at him with big eyes like saucers. From their expressions, ave Jim could see that they were surprised about something however he couldn't see what they were surprised about.

"Is something on my face? Why is everyone looking at me like that?", Jim said as he inspected himself.

" Is that Jim? How did he recover so fast? What is wrong with his hair? Why is it blue? And why does have an iron broad sword on his back?", the class went into an uproar.

"Oh! so that's why!", Jim thought.

He now understood why all the students looked shocked when they saw him. It was basically because of his fast recovery. They were all shocked about why he had such a huge broad sword tied to his back with a chain.

" Hey Jim, what's up? How are you feeling?", a student ran out of the crowd whiles shouting at Jim.

"Hey Jones! What is going on here?", Jim asked the student who ran out the crowd.

The student who ran out of the crowd was no other than Jim's best friend, Jones.

" Yeah, nothing. I don't know. I also didn't come to school yesterday.", Jones said when he reached Jim.

" Cough! Cough! All of you pay attention", Mr James coughed loudly and said.

"Let's listen to him. We will talk later.", Jim said to Jones as they walked toward the crowd. At this time the crowd finally turned their attention from Jim to Mr James.

" Okay, so because some of you came in late, I am going to explain what we were going to do again.", Mr James said with a loud voice.

"First of all, you must know that all of you got an element when you entered the Gate of Magic elements. However, you still can't be called professional mages because you can't cast a spell. A real mage is a one that can cast spells. To help you to be able to cast spells is the main reason why you are partaking in this activity."

"This activity you are about to take part in is called the spell selection activity. In this activity we allow you to enter the Spell library to chose any basic spell you want regardless of the difficulty. After you partake in this activity, you will be given a three months break so that you can train with the spell."

"After you return, you will partake in a test that will help us to choose which sect you will join. Sects are something like schools however, they have a lot of students who are called disciples. I will explain it into deeper content after the three months break. Now follow me!" Mr James said audibly

He then turned and began to walk to a certain direction. All the students then followed him in silence. They seemed to be digesting what Mr James just said.

The Spell department was one of the main departments in the school. The school had a lot of departments which was in charge of certain things in the school. The Spell department was one of the main departments in Lightsway City Magic School not just because of the responsibility they carried but also because the powerful head of department they had. The department was headed by Vice headmaster of the school.

The building of the Spells department which was called the Spells library was located at the far east of the school. It took sometime to arrive at their destination.

"Wow?!", when they got to the spells library, jim couldn't help but gasp in surprise. That was simply because the aura the building released. All though the building was very plain look, it emitted a fierce but godly aura that makes anyone who sees the building for the first time to gasp in astonishment.

" Everyone! Let me give you a brief history about this building. This building, ..", Mr James started to explain.

After Mr James' explanation, Jim finally understood why the Spells library emitted that kind of feeling. It seemed that the plain looking building used to be the old residence of the first school headmaster. However, after a new building was built for him he decided to make his formal residence the Spells library.

"Hey, which kind of element did you get? I forgot to ask you!", someone said into Jim's ear.

Turning his head to where the sound came from, Jim noticed his best friend was standing right beside him while smiling broadly.

" Oh, I got the lightning element. What about you?", Jim said with a smile on his face.

"Sigh! I got the water element. I got the direct opposite if the element I wanted.", Jones said with a bitter smile on his face.

" Oh, then sorry. However, don't get disappointed everything will get well. Don't worry.", Jim said to his best friend.

"Oh yeah, have you seen Jasmine anywhere?!", Jim suddenly asked.

" Oh yeah, she left the school right after the exam I don't think we will see her again.", Jones said.

"What?! She left? Just like that?", Jim was greatly surprised.

" What? You wanted her to leave you a good bye note or something like that? You should always remember that she is a member of the Burben Family!", Jones said in annoyed manner.

"Hahaha, No.. No.. No.. I just don't understand why she just left the school just like that.", seeing Jone's annoyed expression, Jim laughed and said.

Jim knew how Jones was. It seems that he was still jealous about Jim trading his chair for Jasmine.

" Hey, where did you get that crappy iron on your back?", Jones suddenly asked.

"Oh this, it was given to me by grandfather. He said it is a magic conductor.", Jim said.

" Oh, I see!", Jones replied.

"Hey! It's time for you to enter the Spells library to take your spell techniques. These scrolls will show you the way to your section.", Mr James said as he handed scrolls to the students.

" Now enter the Spells library but remember if you take more than the necessary you will be punished severely ", Mr James said.

Hearing Mr James loud words the students began to enter the Spells library.

Jim followed the path to where the lightning element spells were located.
