seeing a bookstore friend & date plans

Still remembering yesterday night feels like it was a dream when I wake up, however it wasn't a dream, and I am very much awake now, after remembering what I had wanted to do today. While laying in my bed, my brain goes over many possibilities of what to say when we both meet up again after such a long time.

After a bit more time I decided it's better to just go and see Rebekah, instead of just laying here and thinking about how to see her. So without anymore delays, I get myself out of bed, and get ready for today and what it has coming for me.

When I finally get done preparing myself for the day, I sit down at the table to eat some breakfast, however when my grandfather sees me he closes his book that he was reading, "ok let's go." The suddenness of that was a bit of a shock, I said nothing, as I was left dumbfounded as to what he ment by that.

"Grandfather I haven't even eaten breakfast ye-"

"Don't worry about that we can grab some breakfast over at Mama's Diner, let's just get to town early, I want to look around at some places today." Weather he thinks he's being sly I know exactly what he's planning, but I decided to go with it, and before I knew it me and him were in the car heading to town.

Once we arrive at Mama's Diner, I can't help but notice a few military jeeps parked outside the diner. When we walk in, I see around twelve or so military officers having their morning breakfast, along with a familiar face in the group of officers.

"Hello Daniel, been some time, how's everything with you?" The fact that Mark was now an officer was impressive enough, but I knew he was strong enough, along with intelligent enough to command a team, "becoming a sniper instructor has its perks, but I can see you made a name for yourself over at the new base around here I see."

Mark gives a big smile, "yep I became a leader of a small aircraft team of about twenty or so planes, so far me and my team have been training in the sky day in and day out, and me being the ace of the team, everyone in the team respects me for my skills as a pilot."

The fact he became a pilot, and a leader of a team at that completely surprised me. After sitting down in a seat, me and Mark get to talking on what has happened to both of us. When I finally get to talking about the book store, I see Mark smile a little bit, "it's still there Daniel, and Rebekah is still there to, but she is thinking of becoming a nurse in a field hospital once the war breaks out."

That surprised me, Rebekah is a little slow when it comes to some things, but seeing that even she is trying to help means the book store might not stay open for to much longer. "Also Daniel I ment to give you something before you left man, but never got the opertunity too do so."

When I see him pull it from his pocket, I hold out my hand to get it, when I feel it drop into my hand I have a general sense as to what it might be. "Mark, did you get me a cross?" When I see him smile my assumption is correct, "well, weather you take it as a good luck charm, or something to help you believe with, I don't mind either one."

The thought of it is what matters to me, however I might just need this at some point for some more luck, so I accept it with a smile.

After a bit more time has passed, I tell Mark that I'm off to see Rebekah, "okay Daniel, also Daniel, you'll probably find her at the local clinic today helping doctors do their work, if she isn't there, then she might be at the book store." Once he tells me that I wave goodbye to him, but as I leave my grandfather also comes out the door.

"What are you doing grandfather?" When I see him grab his keys for his car I know what he's thinking, "grandfather are you planning on driving me their, or watching me?" When I hear the soft chuckles I kind of know which one it's going to be, which is a bit annoying, "don't worry Daniel, you assume wrong, I'm just dropping you off, then I was gonna head over to the market to pick up a few things."

The offer would make it faster getting to the clinic, but at the same time I don't trust him to stick around and listen into the conversation, but in the end I still take the offer to be dropped off.

Once my grandfather has started up the car, he gets us onto the road heading in the direction of the clinic where I want to stop at first. The ride there is smooth and with no questions, but that only lasted a few minutes until grandfather started asking all the questions he could, having me answer all of them before he drops me off at the clinic.

Once I arrive at the clinic, I can see that it's gotten a lot more vehicles in its parking area, "I'll be back thirty ish minutes from now, so I hope everything goes good for you, and good luck." After closing the door behind me, I only walk a bit forward when I hear grandfather start to drive off to the market.

When I enter the building I can see a line of soldiers getting checked in at the front desk, thinking to myself that they might be here for a physical check-up. Once I finally get up to the front desk eight minutes later, I don't know if I should ask for Rebekah, or ask if Rebekah is here.

Then out of the corner of my eye I catch a glimpse of Rebekah, as if instinctively I call her name, after that she turns around and waves at me. The others at the front desk give a slight smirk and smile all at the same time, "hey Rebekah you can take a break and talk with your friend, we can cover your work."

The smile that goes across her face says everything, after that we both head to a room to talk to one another. "It's been a while Daniel so how's everything with you, are you sleeping properly, you haven't been over working yourself have you, do you still have a bad habit of trying to do way to much?"

While the questions keep coming I keep answering them one by one until I finally get my turn to say what's been happening with me. She becomes quite surprised when I tell her that I became a instructor for teaching people on how to be a marksman, "it sounds like you've done a lot of work Daniel, congratulations on your accomplishments."

The continued talk lasts even longer then I had thought, then I get to the one question I had been wishing to ask for a while. "Rebekah, when is your next day off, and if you don't mind me asking, would you like to head out to dinner with me on that day?"

My face is bright red, but fortunately I was able to ask the question. When I look at her face I can see she was also surprised at the question, "I should have a day off in three days from now, if that works for you then I will happily take you up on the dinner date."

The biggest smile goes across my face as I tell her that three days from now is completely fine. After that both of us hug one another, after words I head out the door to see if my grandfather was already waiting for me or not. When I see him standing there he had a sly smile across his face, as if he witnessed something interesting.

After getting into the car, I hear him hum a little to himself, "what is it grandfather, did you find something while you were at the market?" When he points to the back seat, I turn around to find what looks to be a new rifle for his collection. "Grandfather, what type is that, I've never seen it before?"

"Well Daniel that type is a FS-1912, it's about twenty years old, and I never had the chance to get my hands on one until now, I hear they had amazing range and accuracy, so I picked it up in hopes to try it out." The gun sounds nice even to the point it makes me want to try it, but that is going to have to wait for another time.

The car drive home is full of talk between us, as we both talk about how things went on one another's ends, I realize that I'm gonna have to think up a place to take Rebekah for dinner in three days, my heat is racing, but I am calm knowing that I am getting a chance to take Rebekah out on a dinner date in three days from now.

(Eight hundred miles away in People's republic of Labronsk)

"President the plan's for the attack on the four areas designated have been completed, operation fire storm will commence in three days from now."

"Good work commander, now then, I wonder if the Empire will surrender on the first strike, or if they will fight until they have nothing left in them, whatever the outcome may be, we shall see in three day from now."
