"Haah... Let's take a break. It's more than I thought."

"They didn't show mercy. Who would give this much homework in the first week of school?!"

"Calm down. You are going to make my head hurt shouting like that."

It's already been an hour since we begin doing homework. I both helping hers and doing mine at the same time. It makes my head hurt. We only completed like half of it. So much to do.

Sera wore rather thin and revealing clothes. I know that she specifically wore this to tease me. She tried similar things before. There is not much to reveal so it doesn't really have an effect on me. I rather see her as a cute girl trying to crossdress like a boy. But as she grows, it's getting harder to confuse her as a boy.

"You are incredible you know that? I can't even understand half of what's written here."

"You are in the last year of Middle School. You need to be at least be capable of doing this much since Highschool is a lot harder."

"I wish the world suddenly changes that I don't have to go to school anymore."

The world... If the rest of the world discovers mana, everything would change. There are several possibilities I have thought of. If someone else like me, who can control mana and cast magic appear, the government system we have now would collapse. A single individual with might that can threaten huge countries is enough to trigger a change. And I have to admit, the possibility is not zero.

I managed to reach this far. Of course, without Kairi or Akane I couldn't even survive that night. But the fact that I gained the ability to cast spells and manipulate mana is remaining. Perhaps no one else can achieve what I have in the same ways. But there are infinite possibilities in the future.

According to Kairi, there shouldn't be any spirits in this world. Apparently, spirits live in another world named Spirit Realm. She doesn't know specifics but the two worlds are supposed to be completely separate and there shouldn't be a way to cross from one to another. After this explanation her being here is still a mystery to us.

"The world is cruel. It requires you to work hard for everything and continuously suffer from a wide range of hardships. But, it's because of this that, when you reach to point that you can have peaceful life and happiness, it's priceless. Nothing can beat the feeling of achieving your goal after a journey full of hardships."

"Wow... you sound like an old man. Still, what you said sounds wonderful. If only it would be easier."

"It sounds wonderful because it's hard to reach."

It's always satisfying to achieve something many consider hard or impossible. At this age happiness and stable life is some of the hardest things to achieve. I don't know if I could ever achieve those if my life didn't change. After all, this academic success I have in school won't be enough to achieve them.

"You are more mature than you look."

"Well, you kinda have to mature eventually too. It will be hard for you to find a job if you always be childish as you are now."

"Then I'll just be a housewife. You are smart and handsome. Hey, how about we get married when I grow up! We can even hold hands!"

"...You need to work on your attempts at teasing."

"Tch! I was half-serious there yet you didn't bat an eye rejecting me!"

She usually tries to tease me but her attempts are miserable. I might not have an actual experience with relationships but I won't get embarrassed about every little thing.

Wait... am I a harem protagonist? Carla, Kairi, Sera, and maybe even Lydia. I'm surrounded by girls of different types. And I have rather close relationships with them... Nah, I'm too lazy to bother with harems.

"How can you be so immune to my charms? I'm quite a beautiful and charming girl for you to be not fazed by my beauty... Wait, do you have a girlfriend!?"

"What? How did the topic come here?! I don't have a girlfriend. And you are rather a younger sister to me. Ugh... can we just continue with homework? Let's finish it as soon as possible."

This is not a harem story. So, why the heck does she sound like a heroine from a harem story? I really need to have time to rest.

We finished everything in about an hour. After that Sera said goodbye to my mom and went home. I lay on my bed. What I talked about with her is still on my mind. The future... Normally it's still early for someone my age to think about the future. My peers usually spend these years playing around as much as they can.

I on the other hand can't be said ordinary or normal. It's just five days since I gained this power. I'm still in my first year of high school. I should just spend my time enjoying school and learning magic, right? I don't know. I have to goal of bringing Nora back to life. Aside from that, I want to be powerful enough to protect my close ones.

But, after reading the letter Grandpa Henry wrote for me, I have a bad feeling. I don't really know what is it. I just feel something terrible is approaching... I might be just paranoid.
