Chapter four

Two days later Xia Yuan's mother arrived early that day. Xia Yuan and Li Hong didn't go to work that day because of his mother's arrival. She was welcomed into the house by housekeeper Lin, the maids, chauffeur, Li Hong and Xia Yuan. Everyone welcomed madam wholeheartedly except Xia Yuan whose cold expression didn't change. Xia Yuan's mother noticed that there was a woman standing besides Xia Yuan and he introduced her as his girlfriend. Mrs. Yuan was taken back by his statement but her heart jumped for joy and she began to ask them a whole lot of questions. After a while Xia Yuan stopped her from bombarding them with questions. She came so early in the morning that they didn't eaten breakfast yet. Mrs. Yuan managed to eat breakfast without asking them questions but immediately Li Hong finished eating Mrs. Yuan dragged her to the living room to continue her question & answer session. Mrs. Yuan talked with Li Hong for over an hour and she started to ask questions that made Li Hong feel uncomfortable like if she had s*x with Xia Yuan, has she and Xia Yuan talked about marriage and stuff like that but Xia Yuan came just in time to save Li Hong from his mother's questioning but by rescuing her Xia fell prey to his mom's questioning and she told him to settle down with Li Hong soon because she had fallen in love with her already. Xia Yuan just walked away heading to his room. When he entered he found Li Hong lying on the bed looking tired. He apologized to her concerning his mom's inquisitive behavior and she told him that there was no need to apologize because it's normal for every mother to be curious about their son's girlfriend.
