Jax was walking back towards the palace with a smile present on his face he had not felt like this since his best friend Max died in his past life what he felt right now was happiness back in his old life he had everything yet also nothing. He had all the material possessions one could want but no real relationships with people the people that tried to get close to him did so because of his possessions but right now Howzer and Gilthunder didn't hang out with him because of that no they did it because they liked to hang out with him.
With a smile on his face he walked into the palace all the guards and maids noticed the smile on the boys face and were happy that the boy could smile, to be honest Jax had tried to stay away from everyone except the sins the past few years so it was the first time they had seen him smile like this.
As soon as Jax wanted to enter his room to go relax for some more he saw the blonde man standing there Meliodas looked at him and normally he would greet him happy but right now he looked serious while saying,
" its time we talk Jax" from the tone that Meliodas spoke in Jax knew it was serious but he already had some kind of idea what Meliodas was going to tell him. The father and son duo walked into the room and sat down on the bed and Meliodas was struggling to start talking but after a couple of seconds, he started. " Jax you need to know I'm not your father I found you in a forest abandoned by your parents," Meliodas said with a serious face.
" So I was abandoned" Jax said while faking his sad voice, of course, he had already known what happened back then he heard Meliodas say the name 'Zeldris' so he had already connected the dots realizing his father was Zeldris but he wasn't abandoned after all Zeldris probably didn't even know of his existence.
"Please don't think that I know your parents didn't want to abandon you," Meliodas said with a sad tone of voice he knew his brother very well and he knew that he would try to be a good father so he would never abandon his own kid.
"Let me continue with my story Jax please listen closely and just reply when I'm finished okay," Meliodas said looking at Jax with a sad face the story he was about to tell could shock Jax very much but he knew he needed to tell him.
" Okay," Jax said while looking serious.
" Lets start the story back 3000 years ago as you have read in the books that contain fairy tails there were demons and gods but this is no lie they were there back then there was one demon that commanded the most elite warriors under the demon king he was considered the most wicked demon of all and the successor to the current demon king he had two brothers both were younger one was named Zeldris he served as the commandment of Piety."
Like this, the story continued of how the leader had betrayed the demon king how the holy war started and how eventually the demons were sealed after this story Meliodas looked over at Jax and asked him.
"What do you think about this story Jax," Meliodas asked he hadn't told him the true reason for telling him this story.
Jax decided on feigning ignorance, "it's a cool story but what does this have to do with me" Jax asked while tilting his head to the side Meliodas laughed at this sight before turning serious and looking Jax straight in his eyes and telling him, "Jax in the past I was known as the leader of the commandments" and as soon as Meliodas said that he entered his demon mode partly he didn't want to attract too much attention so he immediately did it away but because of this Jax would believe him.
"Okay, dad so still what does that have to do with me am I a demon or something," Jax asked still acting like a kid.
" Yes you are Jax but you are not an ordinary demon no you are the son of one of the commandments Zeldris my younger brother so that makes you my nephew" Meliodas said while being scared for the reaction Jax was going to give in the story he told earlier he clearly told Jax on how the demon clan was sealed and Meliodas was part of the reason so would he detest him for taking his right away to see his parent? Not even knowing who his mother was. In the past few years, Meliodas had felt guilty about this but his guilt washed away as soon as Jax said the next few words.
"I see so you are my uncle but sorry I will still call you dad after all you have raised me," Jax said while smiling even if he knew Meliodas was his uncle he truly saw him as a father figure.
"Thank you Jax, lets go outside for a bit" Meliodas said before they both stood up and made their way to a nearby mountain when they arrived on top they could see the whole Kingdom and Meliodas started speaking, "many years have passed since I was the leader of the commandments Jax but still I feel regret that I didn't change earlier how many innocent people did I hurt is something I think of many times.
There may come a time when the demons would be unsealed again so you need to become strong you may meet your father and he may try to kill me for what I have done towards the demon clan, what would you do then?"
Jax looked at the Kingdom he grew up in and decided he would protect it at that moment, "dad there is one thing I want to ask why is the Demon King the demon king?"
Meliodas looked at Jax like he was stupid and answered with, " because he is the strongest demon there is"
"indeed he is dad so what if I just become strong enough to protect anyone then I could protect you from my father and stopping you both from fighting," he said while smiling.
"I see that's a good answer but Jax I want to ask you something how are you so mature" Meliodas always wondered it Demons did age faster but even for a genius demon Jax would be too smart Jax was thinking about his answer he really wanted to tell Meliodas about his past life yet he couldn't at least not yet maybe when he was older he would tell him.
" Sorry dad I don't know if I know I will tell you in the future," Jax said but Meliodas detected the lie but he didn't know why he would lie but decided not to point it out he just put a hand on Jax's head while he ruffled his hair and said,
"It doesn't matter if you are not ready to tell me," Meliodas said while they both looked at the Kingdom they lived in it was a beautiful place and a place they could call home.
Right now if someone would see this scene they would see the silhouette of a father and son looking at their homes.
Sadly this peaceful sight wouldn't last forever.
