There I was, trembling in my closet, closing my eyes, praying. Hoping to some sort of god that someone would save me.

The man in my room was looking for me. I could hear his footsteps getting louder and louder, closer and closer still. Then, a crashing thud.

I was 8 then, just survived my first assasination attempt.

I still remember the look on my families face when they had realized what had happened. Realized what they thought they needed to do to keep me safe.

In 12 years time, I was to marry the next Duke.
