Moonlight City (3)

Karl activated the skill costing him 5 MP, he felt a surge of energy inside him rush into his light blue eyes making it glow.

[Dragon's eye skill is activated]

Due to the activation of the skill Karl again saw the mana surrounding him in the form of bunch of waveary white lines moving in random around the room.

'Wow, it is beautiful!' Karl appreciated the beauty of the integrate lines of white mana around him. 'Mana seems to be like air in the environment, it moves continually' Karl saw the thin lines of mana interact, merge forming a thicker line but still moving randomly.

'Does moonlight city have greater amount of mana?' Karl wondered as he further noticed that the mana in his home town was far less compared to here, his attention quickly diverted into the thin lines of mana touching his body. Karl knew that a person's capacity of mana will be filled naturally if nothing is done but if used an skill or a breathing technique mana can be recharged very quickly but Karl didn't had any breathing technique to practice.

'Maybe I can increase the speed of recovery by focusing on the spots where mana is entering my body.' Karl thought.

Mana recovery is a long process if the user doesn't use a breathing technique to recover faster. For level 1's who had the capacity of 10 MP usually recovered in 3 to 4 days by not using a breathing technique and if they did used a technique it will require a undivided attention of months to practice and perfect the technique which will increase the recovery rate to 10 times the natural recovery rate, which will be around 8 hours. On the other hand Karl had the natural recovery time of 12 hours due to his blood mutation compared to the normal 4 days period which made Karl's recovery rate already close to the person who had practiced a basic breathing technique.

Karl focused on the pores of his body through which mana was entering his body. He tried to concentrate his focus on the pores of his body; he focused on feeling the mana entering his body and tried to increase the mana flow but failed to do anything. Karl tried again and again but didn't get any further than just sensing the mana entering his body rather than seeing the process by his dragon's eye skill.

[Dragon's eye skill is deactivated]

The duration of the skill finished with Karl not having explored the mana inside of him. Karl didn't fall unconscious this time as he had half the mana left inside of him; the sudden depletion of mana had caused Karl to fall unconscious with a headache earlier.

"Maybe I should reactivate the skill" Karl really wanted to see the hidden mana world and study the mana around him to understand it better. "It doesn't matter if I fall unconscious again as the exam is tomorrow and I will be awake before that…probably."

[Dragon's eye skill is activated]

Karl again had the surge of energy moving towards his eyes which made them glow and activated the skill. This time Karl wanted to observe the inner flow of his body which was achievable if the eyes are closed.

As Karl closed his eyes he saw the mana flowing inside of his body with the help of the skill. Due to the effects of the skill Karl saw the mana in the world within the radius of 1 meter if his eyes were opened but if Karl's eyes were closed he saw only his body. Karl saw an outline of his body indicating the insides and the general size of the body but the most interesting things were his veins throughout the body.

Karl couldn't see properly how his organs looked but only an outline of them. Karl could see network of arteries and veins throughout his body which contained thin layer of white mana instead of blood. It didn't mean that Karl didn't had blood but due to the limitation of the skill he could only observe mana and an outline of his body.

Karl detected the depletion of mana because of the skill, his remaining mana was being used for the skill and the mana input in Karl's body didn't match the output of mana, thus resulting in Karl falling unconscious due to lack of mana inside the body.

Karl didn't had any control over which part of body let in mana as the outside mana was only entering Karl body if it randomly touched Karl's body, he could barely feel the very tiny amount of mana entering his body from many different places at once and the places constantly changed as the outside mana came in contact with a different part of his body which gave Karl very little time to observe.

"This way I will never be able to increase the mana input, I have to focus on someplace where mana enters from more frequently." Karl searched his body for a more frequent source of mana and soon found one. 'Mana really does act like air.' Karl thought as he saw the insides of his lungs which held large amount of mana but very tiny amount of mana was being absorbed which is why he didn't noticed it before. Actually all the other mana wielders only absorbed mana from there breathing but because of his blood mutation Karl could also absorb mana from wherever his blood vessels went.

"Why isn't the mana being absorbed properly?" Karl wondered, seeing the excess amount of mana inside his lungs which was going in and out of the body never being properly absorbed.

Karl saw the movements of lungs were the problem, just as mana came in contact of the blood vessels connecting to lungs it moved away because of the pressure. Unlike air, mana particles or the thin lines of mana mostly stuck together, resulting in mana not being absorbed properly. There were other factors into play as well but Karl didn't knew that.

"maybe if I…' Karl thought. Karl's breathing slowed down, he tried to control his breathing, and he wanted his lungs to move according to the movement of mana inside his body. Mana acted differently inside the body of a mana wielder. Karl tried to remember the movements made by mana and many times gaining a little knowledge of how to breath at the exact movement to absorb as much of mana as possible and started to implement them and unknowingly created a breathing technique.

Karl's head started hurting and he felt dizzy which forced him to use his new technique.

Karl started to breathe very slowly for the duration of 7 seconds and then held his breath for 4 seconds and then let his breathe out in the duration of 8 seconds. 'First part of technique went well and now the next part.' Karl had divided his technique in 5 different parts which were practiced according to the behavior of mana inside Karl's body which he was observing through his skill dragon's eye. The different parts of the technique were practiced by Karl according to the movements of mana inside Karl's body.

As Karl practiced more and more of the technique, a warm feeling spread inside of him, his head stopped hurting, he felt refreshed as more time passed but suddenly Karl had to stop as he had hit his limits.

[ALERT!]

[YOUR MANA CAPACITY IS AT FULL]

[ANY MORE MANA ABSORBED WILL BE HARMFUL FOR THE BODY]

Karl was a little surprised as only 10 minutes had passed since he started to use the technique and had already recovered his lost mana by using the dragon's eye skill and the newly formed breathing technique, thus he opened his status to check his MP points.
