Ruby Rivera works as a mysterious masked dancer at Desire Club at night and as a waitress at an upscale restaurant during the day to support her mother's cancer treatment. One night, she catches the eye of Massimo Valenti, a powerful and dangerous Mafia boss. He requests a private dance, but before long, Ruby slaps him and runs away, leaving Massimo captivated and spellbound. Despite the encounter, Massimo is drawn to Ruby's beauty and spirit. As their paths cross again, he learns that there is more to Ruby than meets the eye, and she may have secrets of her own.
Massimo
I flung my phone across the room, watching as it shattered against the wall. The line had gone dead just as Ruby was about to tell me exactly where she was being held.
My muscles tensed, a deep grunt of anger and frustration escaping his lips as I ran my hands through my hair, trying to calm the storm raging within me.
Ruby, the woman who had so quickly become my world, was out there somewhere, in the hands of that monster and I had no idea how to find her.
The door to my study burst open, and Eve rushed in, her eyes darting around the room with concern. "Massimo, what happened? I heard a crash."
I turned to her, my expression hardening. "Ruby called me. She must have somehow gotten a phone but they caught her just before she could tell me where she was."
Eve's face paled, but she quickly regained her composure. "We need to track the number from the call. Maybe we can get a location." She suggested, her eyes bright with hope.
I nodded muttering "Thanks" under my breath, picking my phone off the carpet and striding out of the room, Eve on my heels.
I dialled my tech team from my cell phone in my study. "I need you to track a call that just came through on my phone. Now." I quickly headed for the car, my mind racing
Within minutes, I was at the club, the hub of my operations. The building was nearly empty when I walked in because it wasn't yet open for the day.
I rushed up the stairs to my office. My tech men worked quickly, I paced the room as they clattered on their keyboards, hoping they could pinpoint a location.
Their faces were grim when they looked up. "Boss, well the call wasn't long enough to get an exact location, but we have a vague area. It's somewhere in New York."
My eyes flashed with frustration " Is that all the information you could get?" I asked.
"The signal keeps bouncing off but it's definitely around this area" he responded, circling a small area of the map on his laptop screen.
I didn't hesitate. I gathered my men, and we boarded the private jet, heading straight for New York.
The city sprawled below as we descended, the search just beginning. My hands trembled with anticipation, I needed to get Ruby out of there before Gus decided what he wanted to do with her.
We got off the jet and drove off into the neighbourhood the call came from.
I kept my eyes out, scouring the area for any sign of Gus's house, the name Ruby had managed to whisper before the call ended, but the neighbourhood seemed normal with suburban houses and normal families.
I grunted in frustration as we circled the area once again still with nothing new.
"Boss, should we keep looking?" Ian, one of my men, asked from the driver's seat.
I ran my hands through my hair, my mind reeling with a million thoughts.'I can't fail Ruby'
"One more time, keep your eyes out". We drove back into the neighbourhood, watching intently until I spotted a dark road almost shrouded with trees.
"Down that road" I commanded.
An hour later, we found it—a mansion on the outskirts of the city. Using binoculars, I spotted armed guards patrolling the grounds. My heart pounded. This had to be it. Ruby was here, and I was going to get her back.
The car was packed away from the main gate of the mansion and we swiftly moved towards the building.
The patrolling guards dropped dead on the ground as my men aimed for them with silencers so we didn't alarm the people inside.
I burst into the building, moving swiftly and silently through the quiet halls. The mansion seemed deserted, but my instincts told me otherwise.
There was no single soul in the entrance foyer and sitting room. A faint banging sound drew my attention in the kitchen. I approached the pantry, gun drawn, and yanked the door open.
Inside, I found several maids, their eyes wide with fear. "Please, don't hurt us," one of them whimpered.
I watched them closely, my voice cold. "Where is Gus? Where is Ruby?"
The maids watch me with wide eyes, not answering my questions.
I pointed my gun at them, " Answer me now." My voice echoed through the building. The maids trembled, one of them finally speaking. "They... they left. The Don took Ruby with him, just now." They pointed to the backdoor of the mansion.
Cursing under my breath, I ran to the backyard, immediately spotting Gus getting onto a boat at the lake, a shadowy figure beside him, wrapped in blankets—Ruby.
Shots rang out as my men opened fire, the scene erupting into chaos. One of Gus's men was hit, falling into the water, but Gus managed to escape, the boat speeding away before they could stop him.
"Fuck…" I roared, my eyes blazing with anger as I watched Gus and Ruby slip away.'I was so close.'
Furious, I ordered my men to take the injured man out of the water, his hands bound behind him as they dragged him along.
The drive back was tense, my anger simmering just below the surface. I had failed to rescue Ruby, and the thought was almost unbearable.
On the flight back, I sat in silence, my mind reeling with questions.
'How did Gus know when to escape and how did he know we were already coming?.'
Back at the club, I stormed into his office, shedding my jacket. The telephone rang, and Eve's voice rang through the line.
"Massimo, I heard you're back, did you find her?" She asked in concern.
"No Eve, Gus was one step ahead as always. I couldn't save Ruby."
"We'll find her eventually, you just need to be focused." The line went dead, as I removed my cufflinks and tie throwing them on my desk
The line rang again, the shrill sound causing me a headache.
" It seems you don't treasure Ruby's life, Massimo?"
My body went on full alert as Gus's voice rang through the telephone.
"Gus" I spat out, my voice cold and threatening.
"If you want Ruby alive and well, you would stop your stupid attempt to rescue her, because I would always be one step ahead of you."He chuckled mockingly.
"Gus, if you touch a hair on her body, I will kill you" I roared into the phone, but he had already hung up. I settled into a chair and poured myself a drink, the alcohol doing little to quench the fire inside him. Taking my gun, I headed downstairs towards the basement.
The man being held there looked up, fear etched into his features as I approached. I ripped the gag from his mouth, my voice a deadly whisper. "Where is Ruby?"
The man shook his head frantically. "I don't know! I swear!"
"Don't you dare waste my fucking time" I snarled in his face.
"I swear, I don't….". He was cut off by my fist in his face. His body swung violently to the side as blood dripped from his mouth.
I roared in anger as I landed multiple blows on his face, till I heard the broken crunch of his nose. I stood back staring angrily at his bloodied form as he begged for mercy.
My patience was gone. I walked deeper into the room and opened a cupboard, revealing a collection of sharp, menacing tools. I picked up a sharp clamp, turning back to my captive. "This is your last chance. Where is she?" I asked as I menacingly stalked towards him, carefully taking my shirt off so it wouldn't be stained with blood.
The man's eyes widened as he saw the clamp in my hands already knowing my intentions. He babbled, pleading, but my resolve was unshakeable.
"Last chance, Where is she?" I demanded again, as I crouched down beside him.
The man sobbed, shaking his head, his whole. body trembling with fear, tears running down his face.
I grabbed the man's hand, bringing the clamp down hard and severing his pinky finger. His guttural scream echoed through the basement,as his pinky finger fell on the floor, blood dripping off his hand now missing a finger, but I felt no pity.
I brought the clamp closer to his ring finger, as I inserted it," Tell me now, or I would keep going," I threatened.
'This is what you get when you keep me away from Ruby'
"Still want to keep secrets?" I asked with a dark chuckle
And finally, the man broke. "I'll tell you! I'll tell you where she is!"
A small sadistic smile appeared on my face as I watched him uninterested, his body dripping with sweat and blood, tears flooding d
own his face.
I leaned in, my voice icy. "Talk. Now."
The man gulped, tears streaming down his face as he began to speak.
