Shortly after the souls started roaming alleys getting used to their new found freedom, it was cut short all too soon. They were hunting the rodents and suddenly they were in a bag captured. They fought hard but it wasn't enough.
When they woke up they were in a cage that was dark and eerie they looked for a way out. It was not successful.
They awoke to the sound of yelling and whimpering. They woke up and saw a dark figure with a whip over a shaking dog giving it commands. They could tell the dog was young. So they lunged at the figure aiming for his throat only to feel pulses of electricity going through them. They growled in pain still trying to fight to save the pup. While the human laughed in great joy" The new ones always try,"
They woke to the pup shivering over them. "Mister, are you okay? The bad man is gone now, It should be safe," With shaky legs they stood up. Who are you? Are you okay pup?
They looked up finally gaining the strength to do so. They saw a pup barely two years old dripping in blood. The pup didn't seem to notice. "Sit, let me help you, What is your name?" The pup answered "I don't have one anymore'"
The pup looked saddened. "That's why the bad man came to me," Surprised they answered back "What would you like your name to be?" "I used to be called Teddy but my old owner passed," They sat beside Teddy and started to tend to his wounds. "Why did the bad man come to you today? What made him take your name?" Teddy didn't answer. He only hid his head in shame.
They grew fond of Teddy over the next week, adapting quickly to the new environment. They learned if they saw the bad man or another human they were to never growl only cower in the corner. One day the man came in early and took Teddy. He seemed to know what that meant and followed behind only telling them it's ok I'll be back.
He came back but not the same he had horrid gashes across his side, hide and face. Teddy just wanted to be left alone after that everything scared him.
The next week the man came back and called for a dog named Luce. None of them knew there was a dog with that name suddenly the man grabbed them by the scruff. "Did you not hear me call you Luce? You dumb animal," Teddy looked at them as if he was saying a silent prayer.
