Chapter Forty-Five: A Bloody Battle

A brown orc, with four horns on its head , shaped like a crown. A golden ax, refined in the blood of its foes, its luster for death, slowly seeping into the battlefield.

Before anyone could realize what had happened, it was too late. The golden ax slammed into the ground, as the world tremored. Several cracks followed the impact, and the point of impact was completely obliterated. As for the guards, they joined the downpour of ruble, painting the ground red in their innards.

What was most terrifying was, no one had seen it happen, just like they hadn't seen the orc before it arrived at the battlefield.

"What the hell is that doing here?" the branch manager of the adventurer exclaimed, loud enough for Harold to hear and snapback to reality. He quickly turned to his ally, that've yet to join the battle and asked. "What is that thing?"

"That's an orc demiking, a peak tier one, in other words a 1S" the manager answered, his gaze remaining on the monster without blinking.

Harold sweated and cursed under his breath, why did Lenart try that move now, when there's a literal behemoth on the battlefield.

The giant orc moved swiftly, appearing in front of another squadron of falken, fighting for their lives. But sadly, they and the orc were both killed and thrown aside. The impact from the orcs attack made the ground quake again forcing several orcs and falken to fall, while killing the intended targets.

"I will join now, but I won't attack that behemoth, I'll just help kill those lesser ones!" the manager said and jumped down from the wall. Sixtyseven falken had died and eighty orcs remained, excluding the new participant.

The rain of arrows remained steady, as no more rocks were herald at the wall; that was until the nine meters tall orc had something to say. He stabbed his fist into the ground and pulled up a giant platform of rocks and hurled it with such strength the stone platform shattered and rocks rained down on the wall and behind.

The thousands of rocks and pebbles blocked the arrows and stopped them from reaching their intended target, all while hindering the archers vision.

The stones smashed several glass windows, injured hundreds of male villagers who remained to fight, but weren't official guards and even killed several archers and others on the ground. This time the wall wasn't destroyed, but many gained concussions, or other lesser injuries from the rain of stones. No one, except for Jasmine and Harold, were left unscratched.

The ground and floor on the wall, even the watchtowers were filled with rocks, obstructing their movements heavily and those who weren't heavily injured from the chaos just now had to clear the stones for better footing. The stairs up to the wall took number one priority, as they needed to reestablish the supplementroute.

Jasmine finally joined the battle, after recovering her energy for a bit. She was nowhere near at the peak of her power, but she felt like she would be soon; if things went according to plan she would ascend during the battle.

Jasmine jumped down from the wall and chanted, "Featherfall", slowly descending to the ground, all while preparing another set of attacks. "Firsurgflux", she chanted twice. A spell which would send torrents of fire at the enemy, while not as powerful as Firelast, it still carried tremendous power.

A cannon of fire blasted one of the closer orcs that had broken through the formation. It was steadily approaching, after having killed five falken. Jasmine's fire hit it in the face and made it fall back. Its skin bursted into flames, as its flesh started scorching. The orc grabbed its head in pain and roared, but it was already too late. "Thrustra" JAsmine chanted, sending the orc flying right into another of its kind. "Firelast" she chanted, attacking the new orc, making it burst into flames, just like the other. Together they became a pile of flames, helping each other burn to death faster.

Knowing they were done for, JAsmine spared no more time and moved to the next target. "Edicedom" she chanted and hundreds of sharp icicles formed around her; the same spell that killed Jack. After witnessing the spell's horrific power, Jasmine decided to learn it. "Leaphi" Jasmine chanted and then "Featherfall" came after, sending her high into the sky, while descending slowly. In the air, she comfortably picked her next target and then, like the Spectra did, she simply brought her staff down and watched as hundreds of icicles skewered the ignorant orc.

In the air Jasmine observed the chaotic battlefield and saw three orcs teaming up on ten falkens, so she casted "Vineious" the spell hit the middle orc and it took effect instantly. Every hole in its body gained thorny vines, while hundreds of new holes were made. The vines started attacking the two close orcs and tried to bind them, restricting their movements until the falkens could finish them.

Jasmine's presence alone, although not the strongest, changed the tide of the battle. This was why mages were feared, they could fly, create massive, devastating attacks of all kinds.

"Fiddlecord" Jasmine chanted and casted it on a 0S orc, close to ascending into tier one, then she sent it to kill any orc nearby. In the end the orc got into a one on one combat with another peak tier zero. They fought valiantly for a while, but eventually her orc loft, due to prior injuries, But Jasmine simply finished the job with a quick Fiddlecord, forcing it to end its own life.

Meanwhile the branch manager was going ham, he was jumping from place to place, laughing in a crazed manner, as he saved warrior after warrior. All while keeping his distance from the crazy powerful orc. He had no plans to die today, sadly Jasmine wasn't hiding that effectively and gained the orc undying attention.

The orc picked up a boulder and threw it at Jasmine and said "Fly, no fly, fight now." in its broken language.
