Fast forward

Let's fast forward till we reach the necessary part of our story.

.

.

After taking Kiaan away, Viren interrogated him about how he reached the girls' hostel, and Kiaan's answer didn't surprise him at all.

"I knew there was a hole behind the gym's cupboard," Kiaan said in a firm and unwavering voice.

But Anju didn't buy it; she knew Kiaan was hiding something despite his skill in lying. He even pretended not to know that Maya was aware of this passage, but he couldn't convince Anju.

Anju confronted Maya about this, but rather than simply asking, she claimed that Kiaan had admitted that "Maya told him about the hole," and Maya fell for this bluff, only to later realize that Anju had tricked her.

Now they both were being punished by Anju to clean the girls' hostel nicely all by themselves, which was not a punishment for them but a time to enjoy as they talked and made fun of each other.

But they were careful not to mistakenly consume any flesh or blood.

"If it was Viren, he would have just made us run around the campus until we pass out," Maya commented, gritting her teeth as she mopped the floor stained with blood.

"I agree, compared to that, this is much easier," Kiaan said as he lifted a teenager's body and put it on the stretcher, which was already piled up with multiple dead bodies.

"How is this easier?" Maya asked, annoyed, as she looked at Kiaan closing his nose with fingers as he moved towards the other set of zombie piles on the ground.

"Think about it, there are more than these dead bodies outside the hostel and a large area to cover," Kiaan stated his point while lifting another student's body whose intestines were dangling out of his body.

"But there would be more hands to assist each other," Maya argued with a firm voice, believing she was right.

"Nah... I don't think so," Kiaan debated. "Viren would never ask the injured students to work; they must be in the boys' hostel crying and being aided by Anju and Viren."

"Whereas the boys of class 11 would also be doing light work like gathering the dummy weapons, and moving the stretchers," Kiaan continued. "And only four students would be doing this gross work, where Sarah would be getting princess treatment from Jai."

Kiaan was right about almost everything. Only Rahul, Jai, and Kabir were cleaning the mess of zombies, and the hardest part was the field, as the zombies were burst into pieces due to the explosion.

.....

"Ugh... I hate this," Rahul said in disgust as he picked up a hand that was blown off during the grenade chaos. The hand was covered with dirt and had burn marks.

"Let me help, we can finish this sooner," Sarah suggested.

"No, you just sit there and don't step close to the field," Jai said as he gestured with one hand and held a shoe in his other hand.

They all were in field cleaning up the mess and piling all the body parts of deads as Viren instructed. They had already cleaned up all other places except the Field

They were all in the field, cleaning up the mess and piling all the body parts of the dead as Viren had instructed. They had already cleaned up all the other places except the field.

...

Inside the hostel, Anju managed to calm the kids down by lying that there is a way they won't turn into zombies and General Raj will bring the medicine they need. Viren didn't like to lie to these poor kids, but what choice did he have?

The injured kids were inside the rooms, being treated and tended to by their friends who weren't bitten.

The kids weren't making as much fuss as before, but they were still gritting their teeth in pain as the Class 11 kids who weren't harmed were bandaging them.

"What should we do when these kids find out that we lied to them?" Viren asked Anju angrily, whispering. Both wardens stood alone in the hallway.

"That's an aftermath," Anju said with a concerned look in her eye. She was concerned about Viren since he too was bitten in two places. "Have you tried contacting their parents?" Anju asked Viren, shaking off her feeling of worry but still looking at Viren's cheek which had a bandage.

Now Viren was only wearing a black vest which covered upto his lower chest, so his upper chest hairs were clearly visible.

"There is no signal on mobiles and landlines... No type of communication is working except the computers in the control room; they seem to be fine," Viren said with a heavy voice as he sighed, sadness clearly visible in his eyes.

The computers in the control room were special; they used a different type of communication service provided only to military groups. Instead of working on the usual 4G technology from communication towers, these computers used 9G technology directly connected through special satellites. Governments had such technologies, but they were not made public to civilians and kept as a secret from everyone. Only a few countries had this technology, and those countries that didn't have it were not even told about this technology ever existing.

Apart from civilians, even some government officials didn't know about this, and Viren was one of them. That's why he was surprised to see the computers working, as he had lost all hope of anything working.

"I contacted Raj; he said he is at the airport and will come by helicopter, but the field is completely blown off," Viren told Anju as he looked at his phone, which still showed no signal.

Time 2:45 PM

....

Raj was at the airport with the escorting team responsible for the safe transport of the high priest of Kashi Vishwanath temple. They were carrying large suitcases containing holy books, clothes, and other possessions of the priests.

The airport wasn't secure when the chaos initially started, but now soldiers had cleared it somewhat since their arrival and taken possession. It seemed safe for the moment.

Raj stood in front of a private jet with two other guards. What caught the eye was that these guards were wearing typical Indian army uniforms and holding assault rifles, while Raj was dressed entirely in black—a leather jacket over a hoodie, black jeans, and boots. Raj stood there, scrolling through his phone, reading an order he received for his upcoming task.

"Sir!" a voice called out to him.

As he looked up, he spotted Agent Sam, a short girl with a boy-cut hairstyle, wearing the same outfit as Raj. She had the physique of a female kickboxer.

Sam saluted Raj with respect, and she was followed by another person dressed in black, who was effortlessly carrying two large suitcases as he ran. The only difference about this person was that his left hand was covered with gloves.

"Is the high priest here?" Raj asked the approaching suitcase guy, Girish.

After saluting Raj, Girish replied, "Yes, sir! They have boarded the mini-cart, but..." Girish paused to catch his breath. "But the High Priest said he would not come without his companions and students, so we were forced to bring the remaining priests as well." Girish completed his sentence, sounding annoyed at the situation.

"Good job guys, but we have a new order as well, and we have to travel to the Ashok Chakra Hostel immediately," Raj ordered and complimented both Girish and Sam at the same time.

.....

After safely seeing off the high priest and his companions with both soldiers by his side, Raj was left with Sam, Girish, and a few other soldiers wearing army uniforms.

The Ashok Chakra hostel was situated very close to the airport. After boarding the helicopter, they took off and flew from the airport. Looking down, they saw the roads in a state of disaster—dead bodies littered everywhere, cars flipped over, and a few zombies looked up as they heard the helicopter flying overhead.
