Unimaginable pain

"No he won´t. Thats crazy" screamed my mother in an angry voice

"Please stay calm Miss Eastwood. It will not help the situation. Consider the fact that without him stepping into the sun we will never know if it helps or not."

My father stood up from his chair and lifted my mother up and put her into his lap.

He begann to play with her hair and rubbed her back which visible calmed her down.

"Im sorry for my wifes outburst." he said in a relaxed way while laying his head on her shoudler "I would say we let our son let decide. He is old enough to make some decision on his own. What do you say my wife?"

After a little while my mother answered with a simple nod.

William resumed "Your parents are united in their decision. What do you decide?"

I asked myself two question at the moment. Do I want to know what my illness is? Is it worth to tolerate that little pain for it?

In both cases it was clearly a yes. Determination ran through my body.

"I want to do it" Was my answer

"Then please take the medicine on after the other" William said with a little smile on his face

That was not the case for my parents. They seem to not like the Idea.

In the 30 minute waiting time nobody said anything. Everybody just waited. What made the already tense atmosphere tenser.

The silence was broken by William "I suggest we let Goran open the curtains of the dining room. I am not the yougest anyqmore. He can close them quickly if something goes wrong."

All three of us agrees silently.

My mother stands up from my fathers lap, it seems, a bit reluctant. My father goes to the curtains and beginns to say.

"three ... two ... one" As he counts down from three I mental prepare myself for whats to come.

"Zero" At the same moment the word sounds through the room the light is again let into our dining room.

The uncomftarble feeling of ants walking all over my body overcame me as I came into contact with the sunlight.

"The feeling is still there. Please close the curtains" I hissed as a sudden pain overcame me.

My father closed the curtain before my sentence even began and made his way to me. My mother and William did so too.

Unexpectedly In the next second the curtains opened up again. The pain that still lingered from the first time affected me again. The pain which felt like thousant ants trampeling over me quickly intensified a noch. Now it felt like one human after another stept over me and it did not end there.

Because of the pain I let out a scream which if not seen by oneself could not even be assigned to a human being.

Only after which seemed like an eternity I could feel the darkness overcome me and the pain slowly retreating.

"Honey ... Honey. Wake up" I heared a voice calling me

I opened my eyes to a worried face looking into my eyes.

I tried to stand up but was held down by a strong grip followed by a old voice

"Don´t stand up right now "

Despite the voice I moved my arms up to rub my eyes but I couldn´t move them much because they hurt a lot so i qucikly let them fall to the bed .

"Told you so" Sounded the voice again

As I finally came to my full senses though the pain and recalled my last memories I could understand what happend to me.

"Did I lose my consciousness?" I asked in a weak voice

"Yes you did. You probably experienced too much pain for your brain to handle."

"Why?" I asked again

"What why?" He asked back confused

"Why ... did the curtains open again?" I though they were closed by my father

"Ohh that. It was a mistake on our part. We left the door open and a gust of wind swept through the house and lifted the curtains up. We are sorry." his voice full of regret

"We are so sorry" added my mother as I feel teers dropping on my forehead and her hand caressing my face.

"It seems like you are not in your best conditon. We will let you recover for some time and then we will tell you what will happen from now on" William continued

They left my room and I tried to sleep because i still felt exhausted from the pain. I tried but I couldn´t as I remembered this terrible pain I had to endure. I shiver everytime I remind myself of the terror.

After some hours passed my mother, and William walked into my room.

"Are you doing better, Kerian?"

"I do."

"Thats good to hear. Because what i am going to say will not be" He sat down next to me on my bed.

"It´s tragic to say but I have no clue about your abnormal state even after searching a second time. On top of that the experience yesterday told us that its even worse than anyone of us thought. I can only come up with two things we can do. The first one is to observe the reactions over a longer period of time and see if it gets better. The second option is to send you into a city to a real doctor."

"Observe? You mean I need to go out into the sun again?" I shivered so strong that even both adults probably noticed it "I don´t want to. Its scary! Its too scary!"

My mother huggs while carresing over my back "Shh Honey. Everything will be fine. We will be there for you. This time me and your father will look after you with everything we got."

"No I don´t want to go into the light again!"

"Honey its okay! It will only be once a weak. Do it for us and you. Be Strong for us and for yourself." Hope shimmered in her eyes.

Hope in me, to get through it. Hope, that pressured me into nodding reluctantly . I didn´t want to fail them. I want to be the strong child they want me to be.

" We will let you stay here around 2 or 3 weeks to watch over your state. We will give you the same medicine again every time but I wouldn´t set much hope on it working. It should normally work the first time. If that helps nothing we will then send you to a city. In this time frame a merchant should arrive."

"Go to a city?" I said in confusion as the topic about going into the light distracted me so much that It seems i didn´t hear the rest of the sentence

"Yes. We can do nothing for you here. We dont even know what could further happen. So we want to send you to a doctor in the city. We know of him because of the experience of one of our town folks."
