"Quite a pleasing sight to see intruders shiver from their mistakes. Haven't you wandered far beyond reach?"
Henrietta stepped back a little bit as her heart twitched in fear. She swung her head in the direction of the voice but found not a single soul. Unimpressed by the existence of ghosts and other supernatural creatures, she scoffed, feeling her body trembling and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end.
Are there truly evil spirits in the estate as people said? She asked herself.
Henrietta cursed herself silently as she stood there in the dark corridor. Out of all the other directions, why had her stupid feet brought her to this eerie place? And not only that, but she had also foolishly followed, now at the brink of suffering the consequences.
Adding to her frustration, she realized she had neither her glasses nor her umbrella, leaving her defenseless against any paranormal entity that might be lurking in the shadows.
