Chapter 11 - Following The Same Script?
In the movie, Valak was eventually resealed.
This was achieved after it possessed Sister Irene, and Frenchie managed to rub the blood of Christ on Sister Irene's face, expelling the demon from her body.
Finally, Both of them were able to banish Valak back to hell.
From these events, it became clear that Valak didn't need to manifest its full form to be defeated.
For Roy and Sister Irene, their priority now was clear: they needed to retrieve the Blood of Christ hidden in the cellar beneath the St. Carta Monastery.
This thing was their best weapon against Valak.
After pausing to gather his thoughts, Roy described the location of the cellar, which he remembered from the movie to Sister Oana.
He mentioned the statue of Virgin Mary marking the entrance to the cellar.
As for the key to access it, it was already in Sister Irene's hand.
Hearing Roy's description, Sister Oana hesitated before nodding.
"Yes, I know the location of the cellar. However," she added with concern, "that cellar is dangerously close to the place where the the entity is sealed."
"If we go there, it will surely sense our presence."
Even though it was daytime, when Valak's influence was weaker, areas closer to the seal were still perilous.
Sister Oana's warning made Roy frown.
While his Stigmata had proven effective against evil spirits, it was uncertain whether it would be enough to confront Valak.
However, he had no alternative.
"We have no choice," Roy said decisively. "We need that thing."
"In that case, let's ask Father Burke to join us," Sister Irene suggested.
With the nuns of the monastery now allied with them, it was time to act as a team.
The three of them left the narrow corridor and returned to the main hall of the St. Carta Monastery, where Father Burke was engrossed in his research.
He was studying ancient texts by the dim light of a candlestick.
The exorcist turned as they entered, surprised to see Sister Oana with them. "Roy? Sister Irene?"
"What's going on? And who is this sister?" he asked.
Sister Irene quickly explained the situation and their plan to retrieve the Blood of Christ.
After listening intently, Father Burke nodded in agreement. "It aligns with what I've found."
"That thing is very crucial. We must act now, while the demon's power is at its weakest."
After a moment, Roy, Sister Irene, and Father Burke followed Sister Oana into the monastery's inner passageways.
Along the way, they encountered the souls of the other nuns who had perished at the hands of Valak.
After learning about the group's mission, the nuns pledged their support, even if it meant risking their souls to aid them.
Sister Oana devised a strategy: "The nuns and I will gather in the church and begin prayers to draw Valak's attention."
"This should buy you enough time to retrieve the blood."
The risk was immense. As souls, the nuns were already vulnerable to Valak's influence.
If their plan failed, their souls could be consumed by the demon.
Yet...
"We trust in you," Sister Oana said. "Please, succeed."
Roy, Sister Irene, and Father Burke expressed their deepest gratitude before Sister Oana and the nuns headed to the church to begin their prayers.
The trio followed Sister Oana's instructions to locate the entrance to the cellar.
At last, they found the passage—a nondescript corner of the monastery that concealed a hidden doorway.
As they descended into the passages, the air grew colder, and the darkness thickened.
The labyrinthine tunnels seemed endless, but with Sister Oana's prior guidance, they managed to stay on track.
Unbeknownst to them, a pair of eyes watched from the shadows.
Roy, sensing something amiss, stopped abruptly and glanced over his shoulder.
"What's wrong, Mr. Roy?" Sister Irene asked, concerned.
"Nothing," Roy muttered.
Though he couldn't see anything, a feeling of unease lingered.
Finally, they reached the door to the cellar.
Father Burke stepped forward, ready to push open the weathered wooden door.
But before he could, hurried footsteps echoed from behind them.
The trio spun around, tense and ready for anything.
A nun appeared with a frightened expression .
"It's Sister Oana and the others!" she cried.
"They're in trouble! Please, you must save them!"
