Behind Aiden stood an elder woman in lavish clothing and high heels.
It was in the middle of the spring season, but she wore a thick fur coat as if she was living in the middle of a harsh winter.
The woman took off her sunglasses and flashed both Aiden and his grandmother an arrogant, self-sufficient smile.
"My name is Prudence Caldwell," she announced her identity. "I am sure that you are well acquainted with my son, Ryan."
Not knowing that her own grandson was in a relationship with the vampire, Grandma Thompson's jaw dropped open from awe.
"I do not dare to claim that we are well acquainted with the White Chapel hospital director, but I do thank him a lot for his help."
As far as Grandma Thompson knew, Ryan Caldwell helped them to bypass whatever hospital regulation that resulted in the initial rejection when they first came to White Chapel.
The word "help" caused the smile on Prudence's lips to grow wider, revealing the sharp fangs beneath.
