Chapter 21
Demitria Frostine
Tomorrow will be another day of putting myself into danger. Tomorrow is the big day, the most awaited and most significant event of the Academy.
I have been busy with training in the past two days. Liro was helping me train myself starting with the basics. It was never easy training especially with Liro, a guy with so much determination yet to perfectionists.
"You'll just end up being in the last position, Demitria, if you keep doing that!" He shouted from the other end of the training field.
He was already pissed off by how I was taking so much time in summoning my arrows when in fact he saw me summons one arrow with a speed of light.
"What?! Are you just gonna stand there doing nothing?"
"I'm trying okay! Shut up so I could focus!"
"Damn it, Demitria! We will not wait for you to do something. Time is our opponent!"
"I said shut up!"
I shouted and the ground started to growl under us. Huge icicles started to emerge from the ground. It was going directly to Liro. Luckily, Liro's senses were sharper than mine, he was able to jump as high as he could to dodge the huge icicles.
"I like that move, but that wasn't the attack that I want you to do," He
said and left the training field.
My breathing becomes heavy and my hands were on my knees bending myself to gasp some air. That attack wasn't effective but it was new for me, I didn't even I could do that by just shouting.
"Maybe my emotions affect the way my powers show themselves," I said looking at both of my hands.
I got mad when Liro was pressuring me to do something that my body can't, all those battles that I had to involve emotions. I was emotional that it already controlled my element without me realizing it.
I sighed. A deep sigh.
I should have never realized that now, I might be confused tomorrow knowing that my emotions affect how writing my powers will be.
"It's fine, Demi. Just train and train, Let's not stop."
You can do this.
I went to the buttons and point my finger at the red button, the button that I had used to Liro before. I was hesitating because of what may happen to me inside the field, but I was left with no choice. I have to learn my chosen weapon.
When I entered the training field, the translucent barrier has begun to covered us, My determination becomes strong when I remembered what is the reason why am I here, and why am I battling tomorrow.
"Street rat!"
I took my dagger and enhance it to make it longer and sharper. I throw it to the human-figure behind me. The dagger transforms into three and hit the other two figures beside it.
"You are nothing!"
They said words cut deeper than knives. I agreed. I know better than anyone in this kingdom. I have a lot of cuts than other people, deeper and longer, sometimes it even takes time to heal but the pain remains forever.
"Ahh!" I screamed in pain, in anger, and pride.
I slash my dagger in the air and icicles started to pierced every figure around me and freezing their fake human bodies. They all fell to the ground and immediately becomes a cloud of smoke.
I thought I have killed many of them but I guess they appeared continuously and only the machine knows when the training will end.
What kind of simulator is this?
I run in the field while tightening my grip on my daggers hitting every figure near me. I jumped in the air and splashes my dagger. It quickly multiplies into more daggers and when a figure was hit, the dagger also disappears.
"That was epic," I said.
I landed on the ground panting, Liro was right. It was almost never ending. I almost killed him with my curiosity, and now I am going to kill myself with my determination.
"What the-"
More human figures appeared inside the battlefield and this time they have this color on their chest part. I didn't know what that means until a hand-shape wave grabbed me and pulling me towards the figure.
I use my feet to slow down the pull but it was too strong like I was pulling alone but I was being pulled by five other people. I managed to escape when I blow into the water and it turns into ice, kicks it, and breaking it.
"You almost got me there."
I let myself fell on the ground as soon as the translucent barrier was gone, which means that the training has already been finished. I was able to enhance everything that I need for tomorrow's battle.
"Impressive!" I heard someone clapped outside the training field.
I rose from the ground when I realized whose voice was that. It was Camellia. She's already back! So is that mean that the others were also back now.
"How's training in your kingdom?" I asked as we walked towards the healer's clinic to heal some of my injuries. I will not be needing them tomorrow so I haw to get them treated as soon as possible.
"Come here, I'll help you walk." Camellia put my arm on his shoulder and helped me walk properly.
Stains of blood were visible on my body and as well as on my clothes. It was snack time so everyone was walking in the hallway and some were just having their free time.
"Anyway, Liro's father was looking for him. This was the first time that he chose to stay in the academy than to train in our kingdom," Camellia said.
"Ahh," I answered.
"Have you seen him trained?"
"We trained together for three days, he helped me with it," I answered.
Camellia gave me a confused look. She might not have expected me to say that but I did anyway. Her cousin is too challenging to be a training partner.
"I'll just go find Craig, I went to see you first." She kissed my cheeks and directly went out of the clinic.
I was lying down while the healer was preparing her potions. I closed my eyes to take some peace from a tiring day, I have never expected that I will be able to experience training that hard.
"I see that you're improving, Demitria. Keep it that way," She said.
She was already putting the potions on my cuts and gently cleaning all of them. When she has finished cleaning all of them, she put a potion on a glass of water and gave it to me.
"You know what to do." I nodded, drank the water, and laid back down.
I decided to just take some time on the clinic when we heard a call from the headmaster calling the healer.
"I will just go to the Headmaster's office, Demitria. You can take your time," She said and vanished into thin air.
"Demitria..." I heard someone called me. When I opened my eyes I realized that I was not inside the clinic anymore. Everything is pitch black and I can sense no one.
"Hello?"
"Demitria..." I tried following the voice but it seems like it was coming from everywhere.
"Who are you?"
"Demitria..."
"Why are you calling me?!"
"Demitria!" I woke up when I felt two hands squeezing my shoulder and electrocuting me.
"Mom!" I unexpectedly screamed.
I saw Lorcan in front of me with his two hands on my shoulders. His hands were glowing with purple and blue light. His eyes were staring straight to my soul.
"W-what happened?" I asked panting, trying to catch some air.
"You were having a nightmare I guess," He answered sitting on the chair beside the bed.
"T-thank you..." I said before opening the door.
I was about to close it when I heard Lorcan whispering something.
"I thought something bad happened..."
