Chapter 17

The eight famous kingdoms are known to be the most powerful kingdom among all mages. They are people who use the elements as an advantage over other kingdoms.

The fire Kingdom was known to be the most terrifying among the kingdoms. They said that the fire users are the most hot-tempered, spine-chilling, and blood-curdling elemental users.

Some of them tend to look daring but they are all determined to master every part of their elements. The Fire Kingdom was being ruled by the Vesta, Seraphina Vesta was the only princess next to the throne. This is why she was carrying a huge pressure on her back and has a vigorous will to be the best in the Academy.

The Water Kingdom was known to be the kindest elemental users. They do things smoothly just like how the ocean looks from afar. The people of that kingdom were famous for choosing to sacrifice their lives to get the best for everyone not only for their kingdom but also for the other seven kingdoms.

They might look as tough as they are from the outside but their heart was pure as pearls. The Water Kingdom is being ruled by Tallulah Fen's family. Their family has been a widely known name since the last war when they had saved a lot of innocent people from the war.

Users from the Wind Kingdom are as cool as their elements. They are the type of users that usually plays with their element and enjoys using it. They are known for their blissful, propitious, and prosperous Kingdom that their kingdom was the first one too had been attacked in the last war.

The wind kingdom is being ruled by the same family since the last war where they lead all the wind users.

The Earth Kingdom is the biggest kingdom among all the eight kingdoms. The kingdom has been divided into two smaller units, the flora, and fauna. Wherein flora users possess the power to control all types of plants and enhance them by their choice. Fauna users possess the ability to control, talk and mimic animals and their behavior.

Most of the earth element users possess either of the two and some can possess both of them. But the ability to possess both flora and fauna has an advantage and disadvantage for the user's part. The element might be brought danger or worst, death, if not well-controlled.

The earth element users are expected to look tough and strong on the outside since they are raised like that. Earth signifies, braveness and mightiness.

"I said focus."

I heard the instructor said as my hand catches the throwing knife. It almost hit me when I lost focus trying to stop myself from being curious about the eight kingdoms and the war that had happened years ago.

My reflexes have improved a lot since when the battle of the elements has ended. Training is endless and everyone, not only the last ten surviving student are being trained to enhance our abilities and to acquire more.

"Is that all you have got?" The instructor asked when I returned the knife in my way of throwing it but before hitting him, the knife was floating in the air and was being controlled by a force I could not see.

Her hands were in front of the knife as her two fingers were pointing upwards. Her smirks that kept on appearing reminds me of a storm is coming. She was known to be one of the best instructors in the academy and lead the war at her young age.

"You're starting to get better day by day. Keep it like that." She pats me on my shoulder and left.

I sat on the grass field and enjoyed the breeze. The wind keeps slapping my face as it moves from the north to the south. My hair seems to be dancing with the trees as they were both being brushed by the wind.

"What a good view to start my day." I laid down and put my hands under my head.

It was almost lunchtime, the sun is almost above me now but thanks to the trees around here, I was being hidden behind their shadows. A ring of bell pulled me up because it only means one thing.

They have decided the date for the next battle.

I run towards the stadium where almost all the students are occupying the place. I decided to stay in the back part where I cannot steal the spotlight after being in the last ten.

"Where's Camellia?" I stupidly asked myself as the stadium becomes more crowded.

I kept myself silent until Tallulah came and stand beside me. She slightly hit me to inform me that she was beside me.

"We are expected to be in the front. Why are you hiding here?" She asked.

"Why not?"

"Duh! We have to be on the stage, they will introduce us later," She added.

"Didn't everyone here knows you all, especially all the members of Ardens?" I asked, trying not to look so confused with the situation.

"The council wants formality," She said and pulled me towards the front part of the stadium.

She keeps on walking in the middle of the stadium while holding my hand. Everyone looks so confused when they see Tallulah pulling me but they chose not to say a word. Tallulah is giving them the say-a-word-or-you-will-be-dead look.

"I'm still excited for my rank."

"You know I am still happy with the outcome."

"If it wasn't Lorcan, I might be included in the next battle."

I remembered that this meeting was not only for the announcement of when will the next battle begins but it will also talk about the rank of the remaining 90 students that were not able to survive the battle.

A huge screen suddenly appeared in front when I and Tallulah reached the stage. It was surrounded by a cloud of dark purple smoke.

"Woah!" I said in excitement.

"I have been looking for you everywhere! Where have you been?" Camellia approaches me and jokingly pinched me on my arm.

Tallulah smiled at me and went directly towards her friends, The Ardens. Their group is known to be the circle of the most powerful elemental users.

My body becomes stiff when I saw the familiar woman, going up to the stage and walking towards the lectern. The way she walks brings so much trauma in me when I first came to the academy.

I let out a deep sigh when her bloody red eyes met mine and gave me a slight smirk. Sometimes I keep asking myself, What did I do for her to hate me that much?

"Are you okay?" Camellia asked and caressed my back, trying to calm me down.

"Yes, I am."

"Okay, if there's any problem you can come at me," She said.

"Good afternoon students of Ingram. We all know what we are doing here so now I present to you the rankings of this year's battle of elements!"

The screen immediately lights up and showed the name of the student who ranks at 100th. One by one, names keep on appearing on the translucent screen.

On the 75th, I saw the first opponent that I had encountered on the battlefield. The two other students that won placed on the 54th and 50th.

Raiden Thorley placed 15th and Craig was in 11th place. Everyone was still cheering and congratulating their friends. I hugged Craig too to congratulate him for being that far.

Craig said that their parents ready knew about him being not included in the next round. He already accepted the situation and was happy for his twin sister.

"And now, I will introduce that student who we will all be watching on the battlefield next week."

"Starting with my son, Lorcan Bellamy, Seraphina Vesta, Tallulah Meredith Fen, Zephyr Wyndham, Illiana Hannelore, Imelda Ina, Camellia Floret, Dylan Thor, and-" She stopped from reading the names and aggressively looked at me, Lorcan's mother looked so confused as to why she is seeing my name on the paper.

"And...Demitria."
