Chapter 24 Dinner

Few hours to six, Betty went to her apartment and prepared dinner for Leticia. Leticia was now staying with her. When it was almost six she went to take her bath and got dressed in a sea blue dress ,it was one of the dresses Jack gave to her. It was a long sea blue dress which didn't show a lot of cleavages. But because of how blessed she was with a nice body, the dress looked very good on her. Because of the nature of the dress, she looked through Leticia's things and put on some light makeup. She was looking so beautiful that she couldn't stop herself from taking pictures. Just when she finished tying her hair in a bun, she heard a knock on the door and opened to see Jack standing at the door. 

'How did this man know my house' she thought, she had a surprised look. On the other side, Jack was speachless about the beauty infront of him. After scanning her from top to down he felt jealous that other people were going to look at his woman. He felt like ditching the gathering. He didn't know if complimenting her would be okay so he just said. 

"It's exactly six,  I hope you are ready" Betty was very surprised about how expressionless this man was 'can't he even give a little compliment' she thought , she excused herself to pick up her purse and didn't stop insulting Jack in her mind. When she came back, Jack was in his car and she also entered to sit by him . She didn't notice that the man beside her changed his tie into a sea blue colour to match with her.

Just when the car started, Jack told her that it was a formal dinner and she was attending as his date. Betty screamed and wanted to go back home but after Jack explained further that they were raising funds for orphans, she kept quiet. Because she was an orphan, this became very important to her too. The drive was so quiet after that discussion. After about twenty minutes, they reached a very big hotel. Because the gathering was a little bit private, paparazzis weren't allowed to take pictures of anyone to create a headline. Before Betty got done from the car, Jack put his fingers in her hair and her long her fell on her back "You look better with your hair loose" he said and got down from the car , she blushed. After Betty got down , he held her hands and they walked straight into the hall where the program was taking place. The moment they entered, they were the center of attention. Jack Smith hardly attended these kind of gatherings by himself and when he does, he was always alone so people were wondering who this girl was and why was Jack Smith holding hands with her. Betty became nervous because of all the stares. When they were heading towards their seats, Jack noticed that Betty always distance herself when a woman wants to approach him and he felt angry at this act. He pulled her closer to him and said "You're my woman Betty, why are you distancing yourself from me."

"Jack we're not in any relationship yet " Betty tried to fight back with him but he said again in his commanding tone.

"I said you are mine Betty, don't distance yourself from me" Betty kept quiet since there was no use in convincing Jack. Since the place was a little bit noisy, she chose not to continue the conversation. After they sat down, she made a mental note to talk to Jack about their relationship, she didn't want to be involved with him anymore. She wasn't ready to invite the Rockson's wrath.

When they sat down, they ordered for their food. They had to finish eating on time before the bidding starts. Again, Betty got lost in her own world the moment she saw food. But she tried her possible best not to disgrace Jack. Luckily for her, none of the Rockson's were at the gathering. As they were eating a lot of people were staring at them , some with disgust and some with admiration and surprise.
