Pincer Trap

Nobody made any more sudden movements after Senior Brother Fang's attack. They all curiously stared at Elsa's Ice Wall, accessing the situation.

"So it would seem like that girl does have a bit of-of….of….haaah…." Before Senior Brother Tang could finish his sentence, he let out a cold breath.

Despite having a Magical Barrier up, the cold air still managed to slightly affect his body. It was like the longer they stayed here, the colder everything got.

"Haaah~."

And not only did Senior brother Tang let out a cold breath, so did Fang, Xian, and Xun.

Xian and Xun specifically felt terrifying shivers throughout their entire body. Even with their Magical Barriers, Xian and Xun felt as if they were in a freezing arctic land.

"Th-that bitch! She wants to freeze us in here!" A cold glint shimmered within Xun's eyes as her Killing Intent rose.

A similar cold light flashed within Senior brother Fang's eyes as well.

If Elsa was just a Mid-Stage Origin Tier on her own, he wouldn't hesitate at all to chase her down. But, the fact that she has that same Origin Cloak as the others caused some caution to rise in his mind.

While Senior brother Fang was confident they could beat Elsa in numbers, he wasn't sure just what that Origin Cloak can do. Plus, Senior brother Fang had also detected that girl using a Power Amulet along with her attack. With these items in her possession, who knows what else she has prepared.

Considering all of this, Senior Brother Fang told his group, "Obviously, this group isn't as ordinary as we thought. But no matter what items they have, I'm sure we can win. For now, let's just take it slowly and let those kids clear the way for us. Then, we'll take everything they got."

"Agreed." Senior Brother Tang, Xun, and Xian were all on the same wavelength.

And even though they all held similar caution, each of them was positively assured that Asher's group won't be able to escape them.

….

Asher, Elsa, Reese, and Kylee traveled with swift speed through a heavily dark corridor. None of them could see through the darkness with their enhanced vision, but they still kept running forward.

After all, even without their vision, they could still rely on their Aura Senses.

Since Asher and Elsa had to match Reese and Kylee's pace, they weren't sprinting as fast as they could. However, they still were able to dash through the corridor relatively quickly.

As he ran, Asher analyzed that previous encounter in his mind. He was sure this was the right choice as dragging that meeting out any longer would inevitably come to fighting blows. And Asher didn't want to waste everything they had without even getting what they came here for.

After only a half-minute of nonstop running, Asher's group eventually saw an approaching gray light.

Without any hesitation, they all rushed to the gray light, crossing into it after only several more seconds.

"Huh? This place….it looks a little too dreary." Kylee was the first to comment as they had entered into a new room.

Compared to the first room, this one was entirely coated in a gray coat of paint. There wasn't any sign of collateral battle damage like other room. In fact, there wasn't any sign that somebody was in this room at all.

The only thing that remained similar was the underground tomb aesthetic and the space being hundreds of feet wide.

Other than that, the plain gray color really did give this room a dreary atmosphere.

At this moment, Asher, Elsa, Reese, and Kylee were huddled up at the entrance. And as they stepped one foot into the room, Asher and Elsa went utterly rigid.

Reese and Kylee didn't notice their strange movements. They were preoccupied with accessing the room, and Reese was about to take a step forward while saying,

"Hopefully, we ca-"

"Don't move!"

Asher abruptly cut Reese off while also firmly grasping both his and Kylee's shoulders, holding them in place.

Neither Reese nor Kylee resisted. Although, they did feel their anxiety suddenly skyrocketed, and they wanted to ask just what happened to him.

But right then, everyone felt a terrifying sensation shock through their bodies like violent lightning.

All of them, Asher, Reese, Kylee, and even Elsa, felt an explosive mix of fear wrack their minds as their survival instincts went frantic.

They all could clearly perceive this horrifying sensation. This was the sensation of certain death!

And it wasn't like there was a specific aura causing this death sensation.

The aura of death was practically all around them!

At every inch of this room, they could sense the terrifying death aura. Asher had abruptly stopped Reese as he sensed the death aura get intense when he was going to take a step forward.

"Yea….this place is even more terrifying than the last!" Kylee fearfully spoke. And she wasn't exaggerating in the slightest.

Even the tempered minds of Asher and Elsa could barely suppress the fear shivers crawling throughout their bodies.

Without moving his legs, Asher had suddenly lifted his palm from Reese's shoulder and surged his Ghost energy. In an instant, Asher's Ghost telekinetic energy covered his palm.

Then, without looking back, Asher shot out a Ghost telekinetic link towards the roof of the entrance they came in from. With a slight tug of his palm, Asher's Ghost telekinetic link overpowered the force within the walls, causing a layer of a brilliant blue glow to spread on it.

'Bang!'

A loud impact sounded out from right behind Asher's group as layers of rock crashed into the ground. The rocks quickly covered up the entrance and would make it difficult for anyone else to come to this room.

Before doing this, Asher clearly sensed the only safe spot here was right at the entrance of the room. That was the only spot that didn't have an overwhelming death aura flowing out of it.

With this, Asher was sure they could at least have some extra time for when that mysterious man's group inevitably come after them.

"I can sense it. There are traps, traps that can instantly kill us litter around everywhere."

When Asher was done sealing the entrance, Elsa had spoken up. She didn't even question his reasoning on sealing the entrance, already knowing his intention. Instead, her focus was entirely on this death aura room.

"Luckily, this is the only other safe spot in this room. But any wrong move here, even just the slightest of accidents, we're dead."

Asher gravely spoke. He tightly knitted his eyebrows and began considering all possibilities to get through here.

Reese and Kylee felt even more fearful shivers from Asher's words. If it's like this, they are essentially in a pincer trap. From behind is that mysterious group, and up in front is a death aura room!

Entirely unsure of how they would get through this predicament, Reese asked, "Just what….what can we do now?"

Neither Asher nor Elsa immediately answer. Silence befalls them as they contemplated the safest option they had.

Elsa was trying her hardest for even a sliver of a good idea, but nothing reasonable came up in her mind. She wasn't even sure how she could protect herself, let alone three other people.

All the while with Asher, he was calculating the distance of their spot to the exit hundreds of feet away.

Similar to the last room, there also was one large exit that looked like it led to another corridor of darkness. After several seconds of pondering, Asher had finally reached a decision.

He took a huge breath to quell his nerves and then told Elsa, "If we want to live through this, I'll probably need to use almost all of the Mana energy potions for this. I don't see any other way for us to survive."

Elsa furrowed her eyebrows, contemplating Asher's words. She wanted to say there was a better idea so they could converse their resources.

But besides Asher's abilities, Elsa didn't see another path.

Elsa could only frown as she reluctantly agreed, saying, "Haaah….I suppose we have no other choice. If we use all of them, then it should be more than enough."

Before going through with the plan, Asher did spot the confused looks plastering Reese and Kylee's faces.

Beating them to the punch, Asher began explaining to them, "It's a long story to explain, but basically, I can phase through any attack. Just watch. Elsa."

Under Reese and Kylee's curious eyes, Asher raised his palm and coated it in pure Ghost Energy.

And just from getting her named call, Elsa knew what she needed to do. So she surged a small sum of her energy and quickly formed a meter-long Icicle at the tip of her finger.

Then, with a flick of her finger, Elsa sent the Icicle straight at Asher's Ghost energy palm.

Reese and Kylee didn't know what to expect. After all, this was so much shocking information to take in at once.

However, their minds weren't given the time to catch up as Elsa's Icicle went straight through Asher's Ghost energy hand!

Before the Icicle went even an inch from Asher, Elsa snapped her finger and combusted the Icicle to tiny energy fragments.

"This-this….how?!?" Reese and Kylee were utterly bewildered.

Their eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets as their minds replayed the previous scene over and over again.

Even if it was only a tiny portion of her energy, Asher still managed to come out completely unscathed against Elsa! This little demonstration was more than enough to convince Reese and Kylee.

But still having this kind of ability….it was simply broken!

"Haah….seriously Asher, you just a bag full of surprises. If only we weren't under the threat of death, this would be far cooler." Kylee wearily sighed.

Asher felt nearly amused for a split second over his friend's reaction. But he quickly focused up and began quickly surging an abundance of his Ghost Energy.

To get through here without dying will be his most challenging task yet.
