Their journey will bore holes into their hearts, break their spirits, and deform the way they see the world, no matter what they gain, what they lose, they have each other. Clashing Sword, Unspoken Jealousy

Today, Roosevelt did not plan to come out of the room. It's in the middle of the summer, he felt hot and constricted, especially with the outfit he chose. Who could blame him, he was in a hurry to find his sister.

The two arrived at the activity hall hand in hand. The place is huge, every recreational activity he could think of has its own station, maybe he can invite Lactiflora for a game of badminton.

He's just glad that the building has an enchantment that keeps the people inside cold. It wasn't freezing or any sort, and due to the hot weather outside the temperature felt normal.

Roaming his eyes around, he realized everyone is present, except for the guy he sat next to during the introductory dinner, Sakura was it? Probably in his room. That guy doesn't look like a fighter, so maybe activities like this do not interest him.

In the corner of his eyes, he spotted some of their cousins crowding, some cheering, others simply observing.

'What are they doing?" he turned to his sister, who also had her eyes on the crowd.

"I can hear metal clashing so maybe a spar?" Roosevelt knew his sister wanted to join in, but something is preventing her. "Are you shy?" He teased, he knew Lactiflora is a social butterfly, despite living away from the society and her suddenly being timid, which came as a surprise. "You're good at flattering others, you shouldn't feel that way." Lactiflora shook her head.

"This is different, these people will be living with us for some time. I can't just charm them the same way I do with people at a party or some vendors in the night market. Also I don't want to form connections yet."

'Little interactions might not hurt, maybe you'll find a sparring partner too. You know that swords are not my forte, and I can't match up your energy every time." Lactiflora paused, and looked at her brother like he said something ridiculous and groaned.

'I fuckin' hate how you are always right." With an inelegant posture, Lactiflora walked away, letting go of Roosevelt's hand as well. Only without the warmth on his sister's hand he felt cold, for the first time since they came here, Roosevelt felt lonely.

Back to her usual graceful demeanor, Lactiflora approached the crowd. Roosevelt noticed that his sister is so much taller than the others. Now that he thought about it, he always felt like Lactiflora has always been a bigger person, despite the two of them having the same height. Maybe it was Lactiflora's more athletic form, he'll ask her opinion about that later. Now that some of the people in the crowd left to do their own business, he now recognized the ones in the platform, it was the Lady of Morriet, Olivia and the young master of Wellers, Fedrin.

The twins watched in fascination as the two clashed their swords.in the end, Olivia stands as the victor, while Fedrin swallows his pride and leaves the platform with a bitter look on his face. Roosevelt turned to his sister, who was literally vibrating in excitement. He couldn't help but to chuckle at his sister's antics. They both decided to let Olivia rest first, after having an intense sparring with Fedrin, who is just as good.

"Hey you, girl in headband braid girl," They heard Olivia call out, both Roosevelt and Lactiflora put their hair in the same style, and let out a small giggle in amusement. "Fight me."

"Oh, okay." There's a glint in Lactiflora's eyes, as it reflects Olivia's image on the platform. Lactiflora then turned her attention to the sword in Olivia's hand which she immediately recognized, it was the sword of Celeste, the first queen of the sun city. So it wasn't just a rumor that the Morriet family is a direct descendant of the queen.

Lactiflora steps up onto the platform, reaching for her sword that appeared on her hands out of nowhere. Olivia and the other's who were watching were slightly taken aback, at Lactiflora's age, this kind of mana usage shouldn't be possible yet.

Both swordswomen posed into a stance, waiting for the count down, at the count of three they both clash swords. The other's who left to do their stuff came back to watch the two. Both Lactiflora and Olivia moved at an amazing speed.

While Lactiflora's movements are graceful and effortless, Olivia is starting to get tired, but she doesn't want to lose. Olivia decided that she will do whatever it takes to win this spar.

She tries to concentrate the little mana she has onto her sword to blast Lactiflora off the platform. Unfortunately, Lactiflora caught up to her plan and managed to infuse her sword with mana, that is so much stronger than Olivia's.

The sparring ended with Olivia on the ground, the defeat hurts her more than the bruise she obtained after she was thrown off the platform. But like the honorable swordswoman that she is, she stood up and accepted the defeat. Before leaving the activity hall, Olivia turned to look at Lactiflora who excitedly talked to her brother. Her clenched hand tightened, then stomped out of the establishment.

From afar, Olivia's twin brother, William shook his head, as he watched his sister leave. He can feel the burning jealousy emitting from her. He sighed, it feels like a Deja vu, it's the same scene before in the academy.

"Roosevelt, did you see that? She's so cool, I want to make her my sparring partner." Roosevelt watched his sister squeal in excitement, although that changed into a more serious expression right away. "But I think she's striving for the position, so we should observe a little more, before I get closer to her," Then she speaks in a more hushed tone." well see first if its more beneficial to connect with someone who wants to be the head or not."

Roosevelt nods in reply. It makes sense, Lactiflora wants a better connection to an active participants to know what to do to not attract the head's attention, but it wouldn't be ideal if they get involved further into the competition if their goal is to not win.

The pair of twins continued their day in the activity hall, doing almost every two player activities. They returned to their room just in time for Rei to come and remind them to prepare for dinner.
