The Goddess Who Joins The Adventurer's Party

"You can call me Ruka!" I the goddess who stood pronouncing my name in a proud stance, trying to make Velvet think I'm the cutest there is, but his face of confusion saying otherwise.

I'll say this now, I'm a goddess in a form of a female elf, the reason why I am a goddess is because I got turned into one, this happened after I got transported to a goddesses dimensional space and somehow got myself stuck to the role of giving abilities after the god saw me and decided that I can do their job for them, because they got lazy of giving abilities to adventurers and went to rest for all eternity.

"Okay Ruka, if you so kindly as to explain why you appeared from that item, then it'd be appreciated." Vel pointed towards me.

"Don't try to anger me too much," I glared at him as I answered, "but it's a long story, but you wouldn't want to hear it all throughout would you?"

"Sum it up little as possible, I'm pretty sure a goddess who has a beautiful appearance of an elf is capable of doing so, no?" He waited for an explanation.

He's a cheeky adventurer I admit, but I'm not about to be mocked like this from someone that looks like he doesn't know much about anything that's happening in his life, even if he has more self-awareness of his surroundings.

"Fair enough, this all started when I was in search of you, until I came up with a brilliant idea of making a slime and turning myself into an item as I let myself stuck in it, after hearing that you took a quest defeating slimes of course." I answered and made it as short as I could for him to understand.

"Honestly, you could've found a better way to show yourself to me." he gave a straight response to it, which he's right, but I wanted it to not be all that weird, though this idea was odd to begin with.

"Velvet, life is morally gray so to spice it all up we must find a way to make it fun and exciting don't you think so?" I touched him on the shoulder, only for him to sigh in the process, which irritated me as much as when that goddess decided to push their job onto me.

"No use in dwelling too much into it, how about you join a team I'm forming?" he asked as he looked at me, "wait, something like that wouldn't be possible though, or am I wrong?"

"I never heard what would happen if a goddess were to join a party with an adventurer, but it should be safe." I responded without much thought to it.

"Then it's settled!" he smiled before suddenly taking my hand and going back to the guild, which was quite manly of him.

"There's nothing strange for a goddess to like someone, is there?" I mumbled to myself, but kept a calm mind.

Nearing the guild, Velvet stopped me and asked me something important, nothing too serious. but something he seems to have wanted to say before, but couldn't, so I patiently waited for him to tell me what he wanted to say.

"You said you are able to join a guild, right?" Vel looked at me with serious eyes, which I shook my head up and down in response, "then, when we form this party, then be wary of my guild attendant, who looked after me for quite a few months, as she has a pretty short temper."

"Oh, that I already know, I can recall how many naughty stuff you did with her." I smirked as he got speechless.

"First off, we didn't cross that line, second of all, those were accidents." he said after taking the courage to speak again, although the look on his embarrassed face was pretty cute when he's being teased.

"Hello Vel!" called out Ariel, who was behind him.

"Can you not do that? You almost gave me a heart attack!" he said after shuddering.

"I'll see if I can stop that force of habit." she chuckled.

"You must be his guild attendant, nice to meet you!" I gave a handshake and gave a big smile.

"Nice to meet you too, may I ask who you are?" she questioned as she got too close to my face.

"I'm Ruka, an elf, but my friends call me Ru, so it'd be nice to be called that." I answered politely.

"So we're the same breed." she bowed before propping her ears out of her hair.

"You're an elf?!" A shocked Velvet pointed.

"Took you long enough to notice." She pouted afterwards.

"Vel... We need to talk about this someday." I gave a disappointed look at him.

"There's no need to, I'll be good at figuring out people's appearance and what race they are one day."

"Good luck." I chuckled.

"A-anyway! Ariel, I wanted you to meet my new party member, that you already greeted." as he patted my head.

"Wait, you were going to form a party without my consent?" Ariel looked at him with furious eyes.

"Ah, it completely slipped my mind to tell you beforehand-" and fell down after saying those words.

"I'll let it slide for now, anyway, welcome to the guild, here's your adventurer's card Ru." she smiled at me while handing me a rusty card out of nowhere that was later imprinted with my name.

"Wow! that's convenient magic that I didn't know about." My eyes sparkled in surprise.

"Ahem, once again, I formally welcome you to the team Ruka!" Velvet stood and gave a welcome pat to my head.

"Yes, it's a pleasure to be part of your team!" I smiled cheerfully.

And that's how I, Ruka, the Goddess who left her job, came to join Velvet's team that he will eventually name after all the paperwork he was about to fill moments later, much to his misfortune, while glaring daggers at me for some unbeknownst reason.

Another short chapter until I have plenty of ideas to go by, there's still up and downs in my writing too, but I hope to have it still be an enjoyable read for others, as it's not going to be anything too serious for the mind, hopefully a perspective change for the goddess Ruka wouldn't be weird either.

If you think it isn't. つ﹏⊂
