Chapter 18

Aurora's POV

I'm sleeping in Bucky's arms when I hear the elevator doors open and I slowly open my eyes.

'Hey kiddo.'

'Ember!' I whisper excitedly, trying not to wake up Bucky. I slowly unwrap myself from Bucky's heavy arms and give Ember a hug. She sits on the ground quietly, in front of Bucky, I snuggle into her chest.

'You're finally out of the room!'

'Yeah, kiddo. Mr Fury let me out.'

'Mr Fury?'

'The tall black man who looks like a pirate.'

'He was happy to let you go?'

'Yep, as long as I become an Avenger.'

'Yay!' I wrap my arms around Ember's neck, she boops my nose with her long index finger. Ember looks at me sternly which leaves me confused.

'I hear you have a situation going on at the moment.'

'Yeah.' I mumble.

'Well, I'm going to help you with it.' My smile grows, Bucky stirs slightly on the couch.

'But there's bad news that comes with it.'

'What is it?'

'We have to go to court today.'

'Oh,' I look at the ground. 'Are you coming?'

'Hell yeah I'm coming.'

'Now what's this I hear about court?' Bucky says quietly from the couch.

'Morning sleepy head.'

'Morning, hey, nice to see you out of the cell.'

'Yeah, Fury said I'm allowed out if I join the Avengers.'

'Right...'

'We have to go to court today.' I say, Bucky yawns as he stretches his arms.

'Well, we have to be at court by 8:30am.'

'Is everyone else coming?'

'We're representing them, but it starts in fifteen minutes so we have to go now.'

'Alright, alright.' Bucky says, standing up.

We arrive at the court with 5 minutes to spare, we all got changed into formal clothing before we left. We were sitting in one of Tony's cars that wasn't a limo, I hear Ember sigh and she turns to face me.

'We all ready kiddo?' She nods. 'Alright, let's get this over and done with.'
