Morverian Cerds

The bustling market square was alive with vibrant colors, lively chatter, and an intoxicating mix of aromas. Different stalls were lined along the cobblestoned streets, showcasing a plethora of goods. Vendors passionately called out their wares, enticing passersby with their enthusiastic sale pitches. And People from all walks of life bustled about, weaving through the crowd, eager to explore the diverse array of offerings.

Zalfick was among this bustling crowd. Currently, he was looking at a strange yellow colored fruit, which was displayed on a particular fruit stall. And oddly enough, one of the strange things about this fruit, was it's star like shape.

'Unsurprisingly, the fruits from this world is vastly different from the fruits back on earth.' He thought, as he gazed upon the fruit, using the [Inspect] enchantment.

NAME: Star Fruit

TYPE: Fruit

EFFECTS: Increases the rate of mana absorption and strengthens the mana core.

After reading the golden words, Zalfick looked at the fruit stall vendor and asked,

"How much do you sell these star fruits?"

"Each of the star fruits cost a single Morverian copper cerds, your highness." The stall vendor replied with a fawning smile.

Zalfick nodded in agreement. Due to his new fragmented memories, he at least understood how the currency system worked.

Each of the seven great continents, used a vastly different currency system. And because of that, all the countries in the land of Golkinberg, which were under the rule of the Morverian empire, made use of Morverian coins, or rather, Morverian cerds.

Based on their value, these Morverian cerds were divided into four – Morverian copper cerds, Morverian bronze cerds, Morverian silver cerds, and lastly, Morverian gold cerds.

50 Morverian copper cerds, was equivalent to a single Morverian bronze cerd, while 50 bronze cerds, was worth a single Morverian silver cerd. And lastly, 50 Morverian silver cerds, was equivalent to 1 Morverian gold cerd. This division and stack of currency, made it much more easier for the citizens of the empire, to actually buy and pay for things.

Zalfick reached into his leather pouch, and pulled out a silver cerd. Looking at the coin, he saw that on one side of it, was the image of a man's head with a crown. And written below this man's head was these words:

"King Charles Morver, first king of the Morverian empire."

On the other side of the coin, was the image of the Morverian coat of arms. Zalfick looked at the coin for a short while, and then gave it to the vendor. After all, the silver cerd was the lowest amount he had in his pouch.

The fruit stall vendor was shocked beyond belief, and with shaky hands, he collected the coin.

"… T-this is… too much, your highness." Said the vendor.

"Don't worry about it. You can keep the change." Zalfick replied, collected three star fruits, and walked away.

Curiously wondering how the star fruit would taste, Zalfick took a bite out of the luscious yellow fruit, and almost instantly, its flavor exploded on his tongue. It was sweet, yet not cloyingly so, with just the right amount of tartness. The texture of the star fruit's red insides was soft and yielding, with a heavenly fragrance.

'Woah, this star fruit is way better than any fruit I've tasted on earth. It is like biting into a little bit of paradise.' Zalfick thought, as he took another bite.

And so, eager to explore the diverse array of items on sale, Zalfick continued…

He soon came upon a grand shop, with a wooden sign board that said:

"Lucius Doyle's Weapons and Armories."

Looking at the sign board, Zalfick thought,

'A weapon shop huh. And from my new memories, this weapon shop is actually the best in the city… Well, in that case, I guess it's time to check out some weapons.'

With that, Zalfick, and the two royal guards, entered the weapon shop.

As they entered the shop, the scent of steel and oil hung heavy in the air. Rows after rows of gleaming weapons were displayed on the walls, each one unique and deadly. Zalfick saw swords of different shapes and sizes, axes and maces with razor-sharp edges, bows that seemed to hum with power, and even a number of pistols and revolvers. Lastly, At a separate section, in the far corner of the shop, were imposing suits of leather, steel, and chainmail armors.

"Ahh, your royal highness, prince Zalfick. To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Zalfick looked up, and saw a middle aged man, in a brown waist coat, and white shirt.

The man's name was Lucius Doyle. An esteemed technomancer, who was responsible for the creation of imperial armaments and weapons, which were used by the imperial soldiers of the king's army. And as a result of this, Lucius had a good and friendly relationship with the king and the Morverian royal family.

'Though, I wonder… What's a technomancer?' Zalfick asked himself thoughtfully.

Seeking the answer to this question, he looked through his new memories, and almost instantly, he found what he was looking for.

Technomancy was one of the many occupations in the world of Angtrorse. It was a prestigious profession that instantly elevates the social status of an individual, ones he or she becomes a technomancer. And the principled description of technomancy, was simple – It is the study of the fusion between magic and machine technology.

Most technomancers, were worshippers of Jhaan; the god of blacksmith, craft, creation, and machine. And with Jhaan's magical blessings of technological insight, metal forgery, and machine implementation, these technomancers create outstanding inventions, weapons, and technological break throughs.

The late Cassius Octavius was one of such technomancers. In fact, he was remembered as the greatest technomancer due to his invention of the steam engine, which was greatly used in this world.

"Good day, Mr. Doyle. I just came to check out your new weapons. And if possible, I would like to purchase a few." Zalfick replied.

"Oh, then you're in luck. My team and I recently finished creating a new batch of weapons last week. Please, follow me." Lucius said.

And with that, Lucius took them to a different and larger room in his weapon shop.
